  1. Do things at a slower pace Ricky, I was told this when I first came on here. I sit up and swing legs to side of bed, wait then when feel okay then I stand up. You have to work at a different pace after SAH but you will get there xx I wish you all the best and remember Slowly does it. Good luck WinB143 xx
  2. Aandrea today I had an echo in my ear and my hubs thought it was funny lol xxx So I told him again and again, I was like little Miss Echo he soon stopped xxx As we were driving I suddenly said "My ears back to normal" (never normal lol) xxx All the best Win xxxx

  6. Sophie , We had a Mum come on here and her Daughter was going to go to University, she put it off for a year and went when she felt able and her Mum gave us an update. I cannot remember the girls name sorry but someone might remember it. Short Term Memory loss arghhhh. I am an old dear and can remember years ago but ask me what I said to hubby 5 minutes ago ??? lol You will get better but it is a long haul and you have youth on your side. All I had was excess fat that kept me going lol I was told by Surgeon No Stress and keep away from sob stories, you need happiness in your life xx I wish you well and all the best for the future because you do have one !! Now get yourself better and sing when down happy songs only and surround yourself with good memories. We are all here to prove there is a life after an SAH xx Good luck and when down come on here if needed, to give vent or whatever xx Love Win xxxx
  7. Andrea, I was given doom and gloom outcome for recovery, so see Doc or Hospital and ask them for a list of excercises to do. I saw OT's when I was in cuckooland and every time I saw them I was told I cried lol xx So I hit a balloon ????? They gave up on me but my family never, now there is no quick fix. but there is life after SAH. Also I was told I'd never walk but 200 yards at present on a good day. So never give up and think of happy times and keep away from others problems and any worries just come here and type them down. A problem shared etc xx Good luck and when possible keep your spirits high xx Now get them ankles turning even if it is just a little xx Good luck and this site is a God send xxx Regards Win xx
  8. When I was in hospital I had lots of injections for hydrocephalus and my coccyx bone hurt I call it bum bone !! Hubby paid out loads on cushions for me and he paid dear. So he said, I'd say "ouch my bum still hurts" and eventually he got me a cushion with hole in it for £20.00 it works beautifully ahhh xx Lumber punch can damage that. Now my neck creaks in fact I am a creaking old dear xx See Doc if Worried about anything as stress is not good for us xx
  9. You are lucky Topsy because of my Hydrocephalus they gave up on me and gave me a balloon to tap !! I was awkward lol. You need happiness around you I say it so much but when I smile I feel so much better. Now I do not know about your pills but as other have said, for peace of mind ask Doc again. Wishing you well Topsy and Verna also xxxx No stress xxxx Perhaps we might see you in Green room for a general chit chat or SuperMarios word games xxxx Both keep your chins up xxxx Win xxxxxxxxxxx
  10. A Trip to BTG is vital for me, it lets me know when down I have here to turn to and it is our lifeline. When Hubby has time off I pop on quickly ..very quickly. This is the best site I have been on that you can give vent and we all sort of understand. Like today Washed hair showered and stink of bleach. Drives me bananas really but I wont go on about it xx already have xx Keep going Jan and have a good Wed/Thurs and Friday, as today is nearly over for me as need a sleep xx Love to you All Win xxxxx
  11. Hi Stanton, I had the same SAH4 followed by Ventriculitis and then Sepsis, was in cuckoo land for an age and I was told I'd never walk again by my Brain Injury Team, and Physios. told hubby to put me in a home !! Cheek !! lol I had a shunt put in as I had hydrocephalus and I came out of cuckoo land and remember hardly anything of 2009, But once they did the shunt in 2010 I can now walk short distances before back aches. I am telling you this so you Never Ever give up and my Surgeon said Stress is bad for us so sing laugh and think happy thoughts.. We do not need Doom and gloom tales. So come on Keep Happy when possible and take it slow do not rush and look back in 2 months and see if you have improved bet you will have. Long haul but we can make it xx Good luck to you Both Regards Win xxxx when down sing a happy song, it drives my Hubby potty but I find it keeps stress away xxxx Poor hubs !!
  12. Never heard of it Chris, Wish you good luck and no stressing xxxx Anyone heard of it ???
  13. Jan, My OT's told my hubby to put me in a home as I cried every time they come near me. Remember at this stage I had raging Hydrocephalus and guess I was a pain to them. See in my own mind as watery as it was in that stage, I didn't like them ha ha. I have always been an awkward moo lol. So I fought them as I knew they did not like me. To give me a balloon to tap into air was not a help to me. My Husband was disgusted by them and he is the quiet one. So come on here and glad to hear you are happier today xxx xxx Mumbles cuss words at whoever upsets you xxxx
  14. Jan, I was like you, I was told what I couldn't do and some days I feel horrid but other days I feel great. I do not know what to say to you but on down days I try and do what makes me happy, it is hard but I call on all the memories of my happy days. Sometimes it works others it doesn't so on those days I go and have a nice sleep. I do hope you can come out of it as we are told all different things. So be a stubborn mule and say to self, "Huh they don't know me" Now lets hear you sing and see you smile ...come on you can do it xxxx There is a song there but I'll sing it when you feel happier xxx Now early night and remember it is okay to have off days xxxx Tomorrow or next day might be better now smile xxx Love ya Jan and do not get so low come on here and talk about it if need be xxx God bless xxxx
  15. Hi Ian, You was lucky although it doesn't seem like it, but we deserve a bit of luck xx Mine was SAH grade 4 followed by lots of problems. Take it slow and do not rush, no stress is order of the day so if you feel a little stressed try singing happy songs as it helps me but each to there own. I was worried about having another bleed, but found this site and they were laughing and happy after what happened. So there is a life after SAH. Good luck and keep away from others problems, you don't need them xxxx Win xx alias selfish lol
  16. Hope all is going well Greg and keep going forward xx All the best Win xxxxxxx Thanks for link xxxx
  17. So sorry to hear about Hubby Mel xx and the Stress it is causing you and hubby Vent away you need to give off steam, we all do xx You must feel so awful and if I had a magic wand I'd wave it, so instead I'll say a prayer to my Mum tonight. When people are down I always turn to my Mum who died in 1976. I'll say 2 prayers for you 1 to Mum and 1 to upstairs. I wish you all the best Mel xxxxxx Hope hubby gets better xxxxxx Take care of you as without you Hubby will be lost. Good luck and keep in touch when down or anytime xxxx Remember to look after yourself xxxxx

  19. Missran, It is always with us, guess we just have to say to ourselves "We will beat this" easier said sometime !! But a song and a smile can always help us xx What happened to us was out of the blue and scared us, but we are still here xx So keep smiling and singing Happy songs, we do need happiness in our lives after what we have been through xx Love Win xxxx you have a Good Doc xxxx
  20. MelMel, We are here if you need to give vent, as you have it hard what with hubby also. So I wish you all the best. Get the worry of clots in legs sorted as you have a lot of stress at the moment. On here you do not have to say you are okay when on a downer, have a moan we are entitled to it especially You with hubby ill also. Hope all goes well for you both xxx Love Win xxxx I'll say have a good weekend, but if you need a moan go ahead xxxx
  21. I do not remember anything after my op Jen, All I was told what was wrong and I had a bleed, it took BTG to tell me it is a form of stroke lol xx Sorry I am not much help but whatever happened how are you keeping? Well I hope. Gonna look up Anoxic now xxxx
  22. Hi Mel, We know what your going through and this site can help you as you know you are not alone. I came on here after my Daughter found it while I was in cuckoo land. I had SAH 4 followed by Ventriculitis, UTI, then Sepsis. a year later I had a shunt put it and it bought me back from my Hydrocephalus head and cuckooland. It is scary what has happened to you but you are here and the bad heads will subside. Give yourself time and take it slower than before. I cannot jump out of bed as I did before. I have to swing my legs out still sitting and then get up. Everything is slower paced after SAH xx I came on here and saw people laughing and joking which gave me hope and if you have a worry or need to give vent etc. It all helps No Stress my surgeon said so I break into song when down but only happy ones xx Look for "A letter from your brain " it tells you what you and brain has been through !! I will close now as it looks like an essay lol Keep happy thoughts Winb143.. I started walking after my Brain injury team said I wouldn't walk xxxx Keep well and smile when possible
  23. Be well Steve and hope your week goes well. No rushing just spoil yourself a little, and rest up (You know it makes Sense !!) Keep a smile at hand for these days xxxx We can get over it. Good luck Win xx
  24. Hi Steve, I used to get up with a rush ie too quick and someone on here said" When you get up Win sit for a few seconds or more then swing legs out of bed, and when ready get up slowly. Best advice anyone gave me, even now I lay in bed on side where shunt is and feel all giddy I turn over. So remember as Chelle said baby steps and slower in all we do until we are feeling 80%/85% fit. Good luck Steve but if worried see Doc to double check and no stress that way. Feel better soon Win xxxx
