  1. Hi all another update! i have an an appointment for tomorrow!!! Finally!!! They wanted to send my scan off to john Radcliffe for a second opinion. But I'm not sure if they have. But I will find out tomorrow! Fingers crossed xx
  2. Hi all, - just an update. I really appreciate your support, I feel like it has reassured me and helped me to understand and settle alot easier, I have had a phone call today from a bookings secretary who says she has not had anything come through and my GP should refer me as that's what was requested by the consultant. So I phoned my GP and they said that's not the procedure anymore, if the consultant is aware I need a referral he should have made an internal one as it makes no sense to be passed from a consultant to the GP to be referred back to the consultant.. So I managed to phone the consultant's secretary as the GP gave me her number and I received this email.. Good afternoon, Thank you for your email. I have spoken to Dr Timperley’s secretary, who is aware of the situation, and has been in contact with your GP practice. She has printed off the discharge summary for Dr Timperley to review, along with the information from your GP, and will ask him to look into the matter when he is out of clinic. She will be able to contact you to offer some further advice when this has been done. I am sorry that I am not able to offer you the information you need at this time but please rest assured that Dr Timperley will be able to offer further advice once he has had the opportunity to review the information. Kind regards, So its just a waiting game as I am sure he is a busy man and will not get time to read it for a while.
  3. Hey guys, It is so annoying not knowing, as when I get a headache I slightly panic. I still get them on and off, sometimes feel lightheaded but they haven't got any worse or any better. If they get worse I will be calling 999. I will try to phone the secretary on my lunch break to see if she can even shed some light on what my notes say. Thank you all for your support.
  4. Hi all, Thank you. I know I'm a right pain with all my questions. I'm just confused, worried and slightly annoyed. It has stopped my travel plans. The GP phoned and told me the consultant should of made a internal referral so it has now been passed back to him to make an appointment. I'm starting to lose hope.
  5. Hi all, My Gp phoned me today and told me that the consultant I saw in a&e should have done an internal referral, so it has now been passed back to his secretary. The waiting list is quite long apparently but that's dependent on how urgent he thinks I need assessing. So I'm back to square one with that. I feel like my life is on hold and not knowing what is happening is irritating me highly. Honestly I have tried to get answers but no one is telling me anything as they don't know anything.
  6. I know, its just so hard, they have confirmed a small bleed by ct and then left it as that. im hoping someone else has been through a similar process and can tell me "they did not rush the referral or act quickly as its not as serious or it heals it self in time" im looking into booking a holiday as well and I'm not sure where I stand with that.
  7. Hi, I am new to this so I apologise if I am not writing in the correct forum. I already have a post in the SAH part. I am a 22 year old non smoking female. Looking for some advice from people who have experienced Permiesencephalic Sah ?? I have recently been to A&E for a severe headache, it started off as a bad migraine. I thought nothing of it as I had a cold and thought it was turning into the flu, I could not walk or bare any light I had pins and needles in my left leg and they would often feel weak. - diagnosis was sinusitis on my left side. However, a consultant noticed something on the CT scan and believe it to be a SAH on my right side. I have been referred to a neurologist and am waiting for an appointment to become available. I have been left in the dark, so to speak, with regards to what is happening and what will happen when I see the neurologist. It's on my right temporal area and I still get pressure headaches and sensitivity to light on the odd occasion, I have also become a bit ditsy and forgetful and zone out a lot. If anyone could tell me what to expect, or what could happen I would appreciate it. Would I be put on tablets? Is this very serious? Do I need an op? Can I travel abroad? Can I have a baby? Is this bleeding on the brain or an aneurysm? The letter from hospital stated this word for word, if anyone could shed some light as to what this means? Subtle areas of linear high density are demonstrated in the right temporal parietal region and could represent a small volume of SAH. Extensive inflammatory changes are demonstrated involving the left ethmodial sinus left sphenoid sinus and the maxillary antrum. GP to arrange urgent neurology appointment for SAH My first visit to a&e was on the 19th December, I was given antibiotics for sinusitis.
  8. Hi Irene, I am so glad you posted your story, it has helped me make some sense of it all. I had a CT they noticed a small volume of blood and didn't act on it. That confuses me and even more so that no one will discuss it with me. It's been a week since a referral was made and I haven't heard anything yet. I still get headaches, although they are mild I get worried in case they turn into serve headaches again. I am thinking I may have Perimesecephalic NASAH the more I read about it, however I still need that confirmation. Could I ask, how soon after can you travel? Do you need to declare it when you travel? I want to book a holiday for February but I am so worried its not a good idea with the change in pressure and everything.
  9. Thank you. Hopefully nothing comes of it. If it isn't serious why do they not just tell me this. I don't understand why they cannot talk to me about the referral. Very odd
  10. Hi everyone, happy new year! I wish you all good health and happiness. I still get headaches but they are mild, the ache in my neck has gone. So i am so confused as to what is happening. Is this even a sah? I'm baffled. They saw a small volume of what I'm assuming is blood, in the subarachnoid area, thus causing concern for a referral. However other then when I was firstly admitted I haven't had the symptoms everyone else has had, mine have been mild and on and off. I will be writing a complaint none the less as even if it isn't a sah it is still unclear as to what it is and that isn't good enough. As soon as I see a neaurologist and find out I will be keeping you all updated as I'm sure you are all just as confused as me
  11. Well guys I went home. I waited from 3.20pm to 7pm. A male nurse came to me after I asked to go home and said "go the pharmacy and if you ask nicely you will get some paracetamol". He questioned why my course of antibiotics was only a week (like I would know?) and then said I was only referred to a neurologist to investigate why I get constant headaches :/.. I never got headaches until my recent visit to A&E and on my discharge form and letter to gp it states in black and white small volume of sah :/.. I feel completely stupid and just wanted to go home and curl up in bed. Going to wait for my appointment to come through and go from there.
  12. Thank you. Im still waiting I have been here 3 and a half hours and my battery is almost flat. I'm on my own. Waiting for the consultant that discharged me last time. So will be here another few hours :/. I'm on my own. Still have a mild headache. Very tempted to go home
  13. Thank you everyone. Its northampton hospital. I have been seen to have bloods taken and they said I'm a failed discharge so being referred back to the consultants that discharged me. But been told I could have a long wait. My phone battery's low so not sure how long I can keep you all updated. Fingers crossed it's good news and I get told it's just something to monitor xx
  14. Right I am at a&e now, I have shown them my discharge sheet where it shows concern for sah I told them I have headaches that are getting worse slowly, and my neck is aching. The woman looked disinterested and told me to sit down.. been sat here for 40mins :/.. because I'm not in complete agony they will make me wait 5 hours :/
  15. I have decided if I get any worse I will go straight away, but I am going after work at 4.30. I need some answers and I can't carry on with these headaches. I do feel that they have misdiagnosed me or are treating me as a non urgent. Knowing what they say on the ct scan I just don't understand it all. When I first went in they tried to send me home, saying it was a migraine, until I collapsed on the floor in agony.
