saffy
Hi Everyone, The last time I was on here was 2010 when I’d found out I had an aneurysm and got wonderful help from here my questions and answers are still on here. I was diagnosed in 2014 with another infact I did always have 2 I’ve found out but wasn’t told till 3rd scan after coiling. I have come in and nosied here lol from time to time. I asked for appointment after my last scan which was in February to ask how my Annie’s were doing as I’d just got back (stable) anyway he wants to coil my second one and is having meeting next week with his team to see if it is ok to do. So here we go again but am ok with it as hate still living with one being watched lol. Bye for now Saffy ( Joan ) Saffy online name.
Winb143
Hi Saffy/Joan, I had a bad seizure a while back, I have had them since puberty 14 so nothing to do with my SAH but I noticed when I had one after SAH they were worse than normal. Specialist said best have an MRI and told me " Nothing to worry about but your other one bled. I never even knew I had another one lol xx but that matches really, the bad seizure and a bleed from the one left behind but it has healed itself so no need to have anything done. Phew !! They know what they are doing and as I always say No stress but after my one, stress all you want xx It wont help but it is natural to worry xx Get it sorted and let us know how you get on ...Win the Wimp (meaning: Wimp means someone who breaks under pressure, fearful, That is me lol ) Good luck xxxx Remember Saffy let us know how you get on xxxxx

kempse
Welcome back Joan, lovely to see you again albeit the reason for you being here is not the best. I'm surprised it took so long to make you aware of that 2nd aneurysm. I think we spoke on the phone back in 2010 after the first one was discovered. .Hopefully you will feel more reassured when you hear the outcome of their meeting next week. I'm sure if they can coil it, it will be a relief when it's all done so you don't have that uncertainty hanging over you any more. I still go for annual check ups - to check the one that ruptured and my other one too. In fact I'm awaiting the results of the latest scan at the moment which was done on 7th April. (I hate the waiting game!) Anyway it would nice to hear how things progress for you, Take care, Sarah
saffy
Hi Sarah, Thank you for welcome, is your second one still just being watched? I’m not in the same mind frame as last time .years of living with this I think you do get used to it if you know what I mean. But I wasn’t happy with lack of how my Annie’s were doing after last scan so I rang up and complained , to my surprise got an appointment to see my consultant with in a few weeks which was last week, he was really nice and the outcome is waiting after he’s seen his team to have it coiled. Maybe then I will be abit nervous lol .
kempse
Yes Joan, my second one is being watched every year and thankfully has not changed in the 9 1/2 years. The one that ruptured is also being watched and that has changed slightly in size and although there was talk 2 years ago of having more treatment, I got a letter after my scan in April 2017 saying all was stable. So I haven't had any further treatment as yet, but I am anxiously awaiting my results from this April's MRi. Sarah
saffy
Well letter arrived to say they are going to coil my second one, so now the nerves may arrive. At least I know what to expect and it could be a long wait with the way NHS is lol.

Winb143
Joan, Coiling is the easiest of the 2, if any op can be easy as they are scary and you would not be normal if not a little apprehensive. I was scared that my cross had to be taken off and I asked the nurse make sure I get it back on as I need all the help I can get lol. I am daft about things like this. Very superstitious and the nurse said " I will stay with you throughout and I'll put your cross back on you". But what I cannot understand is that I was in cuckooland yet remember that !! Wishing you well for 2nd and all the best. Keep in touch and let us know how it all goes xx Fingers and eyes crossed xx Win xxxxx
kempse
Hi Joan, Sorry, but I missed this thread until the lovely Tina contacted me. I'm pleased you got a date through which is not too far away - hopefully you will manage to keep the nerves in check during that time. My thoughts will be with you on 2nd August. I have not heard anything from the hospital following my scan on 7th April, but on a recent visit to my GP for something else, I asked if they had had any correspondence from the hospital. They had received a report and I was informed that there were no changes since my previous scan and they would scan me again next April. I'm not overly impressed that the hospital hasn't bothered to inform me though and I only found out by chance. My Mum passed away 3 weeks ago, so I really am grateful and relieved that no more coiling is required at present as I don't think I could have coped with the stress of that as well. Looking forward to hearing from you after the procedure - sending love and best wishes in the meantime, Sarah

Thank you all for your wishes hope you all keep well. Xxx?

Karen
Good luck for Thursday Joan! I'm still being monitored for my coiled aneurysm (it wasn't fully occluded) and I perhaps know that I will be in the same position as you at some point. I also have another artery that may or may not turn into an aneurysm needing treatment. I would much rather have treatment before a bleed, rather than after ....as it's the bleed that causes the damage. I wish you luck my lovely ... I know that it's scary .... I also hope that you have good family about you, who will look after you post op. My late mum in law had an aneurysm coiled (without the bleed) ... she was pretty much okay after the op, apart from the anaesthetic, which always takes a few days to get out of the system. Take care lovely and when you're feeling up to it, let us know how you're doing. Huge hugs and much love. xx

kempse
Oh Joan, I'm so sorry to hear that your op was cancelled, that's the last thing you need to happen. My second coiling was cancelled on the day I was due to go in, so I can appreciate the anxiety and frustration, etc that it causes. Hopefully you can get your blood sugars to an acceptable level before too long and then get the operation out of the way. Love, Sarah

Been to drs and the diabetic nurse had took me off a pill which now dr put me back on ....I am so angry and now have to wait a month for blood test ..but she was very surprised that they used that as excuse. I feel very down and weepy which really helps blood pressure . Sorry to rant xxx
