Hi Tracey Hope you continue to do well . X
  3. Hi Gary I asked the question about angios as I had not had one while awake and was unclear what contraption would be used for the pics.I hate the confined feeling when having the ct scan or the mri or also the mra. Who knows what they call them but knowing this could take an hour I was dreading being confined for an hour.I was lucky and got the needed information on here advising that it would be like a scanning machine. In fact it was very similar to the very first types of scanners used in midwifery in that it came very close but never made contact.Showing my age now !
  4. Hi Angela thanks for the TV it was still there when I went in on Friday.Good job as I couldnt find my new book on the Ipod.I am also glad you mentioned the wait time for results as I am sure I will not have mine in two weeks!!!!!The three months appears more realistic if going via the Neuro surgeon. That was my first Angio and it was less upsetting than I thought but i was quite high guess that was the stress of it all. Take Care
  5. Hi dont know if I can be of help but happy to support anyone as this is scary. Is she going back in 6 months for coiling? Is it the SGH as there is a great support person not attached to the ward but the guys that do the coiling. I am sure some people suffer post traumatic shock. There is not a lot of post discharge info ormaybe that is just me not asking for it.I thought headway were good to. Let me know what you need happy to meet for coffee if any help.
  6. Hope your mum is doing well and things are a bit better.I have only just found this post and by now you will know why the stent.Just in case let me say that stents have different purposes and in my case the two stents were placed in the artery to keep the coils in place.I had a wide kneck to the aneurysm and if they had not had the stent the coils would have been impossible.I think in America they now use a type of glue to occlude the aneurysm which sets immediately. Anyway hope your mum is now home and starting the recovery.X
  7. Hi Sorry to hear about the pneumonia hopefully things will be better when the treatment for that is finished.Pneumonia can floor people without any other complications. Take Care
  8. Wishing you well for next week it will be a roller coaster ride getting to Friday You will be in my thoughts.x
  9. Morning Angela Good Luck for tomorrow.Hope all goes well.I will not be far behind for my Angio.
  10. Hi Ben Great to get the update and some positive news.I dont know where you are in the country but in the local area here you would be looking for a full assesment of need prior to discharge .Much easier than waiting until discharge but it is early days as I am sure they wait until almost fit for discharge as things change all the time.Local areas provide diffrent services and a lot depends on the finances available to the local council. However you will be looking for a benefits check and the support of a welfare rights officer .Look about on the hospital notice board for local support groups who should be able to advise of which door to rattle .There is a saying the noisy wheel gets the oil and sometimes you need to make lots of noise. Take Care wishing you well
  11. Hi Sally Your Social Work dept will have a benefits officer who will be able to give advice if they don't call the local citizen advice .If that fails email me privately and I will see what numbers I can get for you.The GCIL in Glasgow is good but they can often forget to get back to you.
  12. Hi I also have a y stent (two overlap to give the shape required)and have to take the asprin for life.I do sometimes get a little bruising which just appears non reason (not any I am aware of) I was taking Plavix (the other drug) for three months post intervention for the stent and during that time had fairly large bruises.I have to say none matched the bruising caused by the cathater at the intervention site.I could have told people I had been sat on by a horse and they would have believed it. I am about to have the follow up Angio does this cause the same bruising ? I know the procedure is much quicker any info helpful re recovery time .I am getting twitched about this hospital visit I really dontlike the big scanners/machines Thanks again L X
