  1. WWW looking has led me to believe that omega 3 is ok but omega 6 can affect bleeds by thinning the blood.... so I won't start regularly take effalex, unless I do manage to talk to a doctor about it. Many thanks for the tip Karen. Laura xx
  2. Thanks Karen I hadn't even thought that it may possibly be a bad thing.......... I'll see if I can find any more info about it. Back to the world wide web I go. Laura
  3. I just went to the web site you posted for good brain foods. EyeQ was mentioned as having a good positive result when tested for children. Do you know of Efalex (which I think may be related to EyeQ)? Efalex is Omege 3 +6 and sold as 'help to maintain concentration and brain development'. I'm going to start taking it regularly, but if you've heard of it, do you know of anyone else's experiences using it? ie. Have positive experiences been noted? Just a wonder question Laura
  4. What a facinating insightful lady......... Before my SAH I had studied asperger syndrome (an autistic disorder my son has) and after SAH I experienced what felt like a lot of the problems he would have experienced with light/sound/touch/and even moods......... I was able to relate my experiences to the two sides of the brain not communicating in their usual proper way and it was strange to actually understand my son's life exeriences even more. I was also aware at the time that other people wouldn't relate their experiences with the brain in the same way I was, I felt I was relating my experiences to the understanding I had learnt about the brain and autistic tendencies. She had a lot of previous awareness of brain problem schizophrenia so I'm sure this is why she could relate her experiences so deeply and differently to others who may for the first time ever become aware of any of them. My SAH was on the right hand side and I lost feeling and movement on the left, and I felt more physical effects altered, my 2nd craniotomy was on the left hand side and I lost language, recognition, taste and smell, and knowingness, it felt a more mental effect than physical. Thank goodness both sides have repaired themselves as much as I could possible hope but this has taken a very long time! Laura
  5. Hello Pam I had a sah in 2003 which was clipped, and a 2nd aneurysm on the other side of my brain clipped before it ruptured. I also have, and its strange to say, 1 or 2, I can't remember, remaining aneyrysms in a different part of my brain which are being left untreated as they are small and in a part of the brain that isn't life threatening if they rupture. I don't normally think much about them, probably as full concentration has gone into recovery and my aim to get life back to normal! But, i have had a headache every day this week which is really bothering me and making me paranoid that I'm suffering from a leaking aneurysm. I did go to my GP yesterday, but she has put my pain down to stress, I'm still worrying like mad but trying to carry on with daily life. I hope i'm not adding to your worries by saying the above, i just thought that if your untreated annies are worrying you, you're not alone on that. I was told mine may be looked at in about 2009-10, they're no worry to the hospital, which feels very strange too, we're just left to carry on living with them in hope that no problems arise but that can also leave us worrying like mad. Laura
  6. I can laugh for about 10-15 minutes, for no apparent reason, or maybe something so silly, my hubbie asks if it hurts.... but it does at least make him laugh with me too!
