  1. Hi There steph, there is a letter on this site called a letter to my brain i printed it off for my sister and told her it was her bible. Its an amazing letter which any of your friends family can read if you print it off and believe me they will then understand you.My sister found it amazing. My sister had 7 annuerysms in jan and 1 large one ruptured and she had a massive bleed to the brain and stroke. She had a cranial op and was sent home 3 weeks later. She has had a massive seizure since and now diagnosed epileptic,we ve nearly lost her twice now.I thank god for every day she has,she has 3-4 more operations to have to remove the rest of her annuerysms, she has very low days and good days she misses her old self. Her long term memory is fab but short term poses a problem we talk about how she feels one to one every week i take her out,she has changed so much but my old sis is still there and its very early days for such an enormous thing to happen. She cant go out alone, she was also a wedding cake decorator, which she can no longer do,it is such a huge dramatic change to all of your lives and myself and others who havent suffered this cannot possibly understand what your all going through but if we are there to lend an ear or a few hours out or just a chat by text email or over the phone it all helps the healing process i think time is the only thing that can help because in time things will improve and if not people learn to adapt maybe not accept it but have to live with it,i wish you all the best in your recovery take each day as it comes and dont spend your precious time worrying about the ignorant people who dont take the time to understand.I found this website for my sister i searched for weeks because i also needed to understand and be educated how else can we help people like yourselves if we have no knowledge on the subject. Take carexxx
  2. IThankyou kaz,its real kind of you to take the time to reply.I wish you the very best with your recovery, totally agree about looking to the future and being positive. My sister is very positive ,also says what will be will be she just wants to get back to where she left off and seems very confident that she will get there. She does find it difficult family doing her house chores,as her love of housework was so hugely important, but i am sure with her positive attitude she ll get there in the end. Many thanks ps my sister experienced whilst in hospital thinking her bungalow was on the ward below i told her i had seen a simular story on here but havent been able to find it since, but she seemed very relieved to know others had experienced the same. thankyou again sis maryx
  3. Hi michelle, thankyou so much for your reply michelle, any imformation helps, basically my sis has been really happy that i could tell her others have experienced the same things as her which made her feel totally normal and not that she was going nuts. Also a Letter from my brain i printed off for her and that has helped her enormously.many thanks michelle for taking time to replyx
  4. Hi there,i found your comment about your wife having 12 annys i do hope she is feeling well and yourself. My sister has seven annys 3 have been clipped she too had a massive bleed stroke and 1 burst, she had no choice but to have the operation she was told she would only survive 6months.The surgeon was the best and was totally honest with her and all us family of how there was a risk of loosing her in thearte.Thankgod her op was 25th january and she is home and doing well.Just wondered if your wife could share any information on her journey so far but would totally understand if she felt unhappy to do that.I wish you both good health and lots of love
  5. Hi there all, i found this wonderful site by chance. My sister suffered a massive bleed to the brain and a burst annuerysm plus a stroke in jan 2012.It was revealed on catscan that she had 7 annuerysms. They operated doing the cranial operation through the skull. She has now been allowed home and is doing extremely well. They have clipped 3 and left a tiny one to the right side, she has another three on the left of which we are told she will require 5 to 7 years of treatment. She has no long term memory problems whatsoever which is amazing. She has a problem with the short term which is to be expected. She is improving daily.I would like to ask is there anyone else on here that has had this amount of annuerysms as reading your stories i have only found people with two.It would help her extemely if we have someone we can relate to.This site has already helped her enourmously. For example she is not aware at what she can and cant do,on reading please tell me if i am wrong 3months seems to be on average the amount of time needed to then start weening yourself back to a full normal life .Obviously it may take a lot longer than three months to be able to resume even 20% we are prepared for that and that it is each individual but any feedback would so appreciated. Also by full normal life i mean even if that is not 50% of what she was at before all of this ,she is living breathing and has so many loving caring people around her ,and for what shes been through is so lucky to only have seconds of being totally vacant and unaware and short term memory loss.thankyou for such a wonderful site.
