  1. Thanks for the encouragement. I wish I can go back to work too after several years’ recovery.
  2. Congratulations on your 23rd anniversary! I’m looking forward to 10th, 20th, … anniversaries. 😀
  3. Thank you, Tina! I’ll be patient and report improvement every anniversary or more often!
  4. Jean, Thank you so much! Your kind words and encouragement is the best gift for my anniversary. I’ll be strong and look forward to seeing improvement year after year! Wish you all the best! June
  5. Before 2:40pm on November 2, 2021, I worked in office and took care of family from 6am to 9pm daily. Now I’m trying hard to accept the new me suffering from fatigue and anxiety daily since I had NASAH one year ago. I’m fortunate that I didn’t lose any function after the bleeding, but the road of recovery is bumpy and endless. It took me two months after SAH to gain energy to walk 1 mile and nine months to walk 2 miles. My recovery seems to stop at 9 months and I have setbacks when I push myself too hard. My battery runs out after about 1 hour. No matter I talk over the phone, walk in grocery store or along the beach, I become exhausted, have palpitations and headache after 50 minutes or so. I have to lay down on bed quietly to recover. One day I couldn’t drive home and had to call for a ride. I lost my job eventually and have to go through this recovery all by myself… How about your recovery journey?
  6. I’m so happy for your full recovery! You returned back to work so early. It’s amazing that you can run so soon after the SAH.
  7. Thanks for the information. That’s very helpful. I was scared to death as the pain in my buttock stays although it subsides. Physical therapist couldn’t identify the cause, so I took EMG last week and the result is normal. I’ll be patient and do more stretches. Thanks!
  8. Congratulations, Jean! I’m so happy for you that you are well and enjoy the good things! Your positive attitude helps me build confidence in my recovery. I had SAH six months ago and feel so frustrated because different symptoms come and go after SAH and I couldn’t find out from doctors what to expect and how long it will take to recover. This site is so helpful! June
  9. Thanks! I have got a new pair of shoes. Sometimes my legs are so weak that I worried that I might be wheel-chaired...
  10. Thanks, Tina! The recovery journey is too long…
  11. I had horrible pain in my buttock after SAH and had to take painkillers for over 2 weeks. The pain in buttock has subsided after 1 month, but 4 months later, I have new symptoms: 1. heel pains started at both sides and now the pain goes from the heels to toes. My toes and heels hurt badly when I walk. 2. I have severe anxiety, especially in the morning, and sometimes I had to lie down. Antidepressant medicine doesn’t help now. Does anyone experience these symptoms? I have an appointment with neurologist in June and couldn’t get earlier appointment. Does it mean my peripheral nerves have been damaged? I’m so frustrated that new symptoms came one after another in the past months!
  12. I work in IT industry and have to request to work from home. I’ll work with my doctor and Occupational Health staff on my return-to-work schedule. I’m afraid that the mental stress at work might set me back. I tried to push myself hard and resulted in setback almost every month.
  13. I had SAH in Nov. 2021. I’ve been taking sick leave for more than 5 months and will have to choose to return to work in May or to lose my job. I’m planning phased return to work, e.g. 10 hours per week, 20 hours per week, … and eventually work full-time. I’m bothered mostly by fatigue, buttocks pain and heel pain, eye pain, and dizziness. I can walk at most 1 mile once in a day. At bad days I have to lay on bed all day. Can you advise if my plan will work? Based on your experience, how many weeks/months should each phase take? Thanks, June
  14. Jamesyreid, I had NASAH in Nov. 2021 and started to feel facial pain and eye pain in Jan. 2022. It eases off a bit now. I started to feel dizzy and nauseous in Feb. and it gets worse when I change positions or make turns. I feel my anxiety is getting worse as I have to return to work or lose my job in a couple weeks. I have to take medicine for my anxiety … It is a longer recovery journey than I expected but I’m getting better than 5 months ago. Best wishes! June
  15. Tina, Thanks! The light really bothers my eyes. In the first four months My eyes hurt badly when I use my computer. I saw two ophthalmologists but found no problem with my eyes. I can use my iPad recently but have to make it dark. I guess I have to wait patiently for my brain to recover…
  16. Many thanks to Tina, Louise, Jean and ClareM for your kind welcome and replies. I’m lucky to find this forum! I only felt neck and buttocks pain, and sometimes headache if I moved in hospital. The neck pain is gone and buttocks pain is getting better. After several physical therapy treatments, my fatigue improved and I started to go to grocery stores and walk outside last month. The dizziness happened after I visited a grocery store last month, and it got worse especially if I turned around, but I didn’t lose balance. The nausea bothers me the most. Do you take any medicine for nausea? I have been out of work for more than four months. I have to choose to return to work in May or lose my job. My job is stressful. When did you return to work after SAH? Thanks!
  17. Thanks, Jess! I’m really confused because I didn’t feel dizzy before Feb 2022.
  18. I had SAH in November 2021. My fatigue was getting better with physical therapy but in February 2022 I suddenly had dizziness and nausea. I was told that my brain was overstimulated. It has been almost a month but my dizziness is not improving. Does anyone know if the dizziness will ease off?
