  1. Hi Debbie. I suffered a SAH on 7th May 2012 and am still recovering. 12 months to 2 years is a good estimate. I hit a bad patch after 3 months as that was when the fatigue, nausea and sore muscles set in. I have good days and bad. But feel that every time I am tired, my brain is repairing itself! I have started driving again and have a holiday booked, so please don't forget when you feel low, things will get better in time! Lynn xx
  2. Tricia, I was treated at the SG last year. I was in a medical ward for a month before going to the Physically Disabled Rehabilitation Unit - PDRU. They said they were waiting for a bed, but I think they were actually waiting for my strength to return and for my thoughts to be clearer. I had physio and speech therapy on the ward. When I went to PDRU, I was walking better. If you want to ask any more questions about PDRU, please contact me. Lynn x (Glasgow)
  3. Thank you. They have been in touch. I have to have an MRI scan in 2 years time so everything seems to be ok just now. Lynn x
  4. Thanks Louise. You are correct and that is what I have been told. Lynn x
  5. Hi everyone. I had an MRI scan 2 weeks ago and received a letter from my consultand this morning. It said that the left sided aneurysm remains well-occluded by coils. It also says there was a small amount of filling at the neck and the neuro radiologist has kindly agreed to review me in his clinic to discuss the need for further angiography. It said, in addition, he has arranged another MRI scan in 2 years time. I don't know what this means! Can anyone help? Lynn.
  6. Hello WinB143! When I left hospital, I continued with the build up drinks I consumed in hospital. I have now been eating crisps and chocolate. I also eat pasta. I cannot walk far and get tired quickly. I have a long way to go. My aim would be to go out and have a meal in a restaurant. Lynn x
  7. Thank you very much for your positive comments. It is difficult for people to understand what we go through! The simplest tasks like getting washed and dressed are major tasks and everything is such an effort. After I came out of hospital, I had a month when I really wasn't feeling that well. I was sick and dizzy, but this disappeared. It is very hard for me to leave the safety of my flat. My sister has been a great tower of strength for me. Lynn x
  8. Hi Maryb, Thanks very much for your encouraging words. After a year, it is the tiredness which affects me most and results in me taking naps. Lynn xx
  9. Hi Sandi, Thanks for the welcome! It is an inspiring website! It is good to hear of people in the same position. Lynn
  10. Hi Michelle. Thanks for your reply and your kind words. It's good to hear of other people's progress. Every day, things are so difficult. e.g. getting washed and dressed. Lynn xx
  11. This is my first post. I suffered a SAH on 7th May 2012. I was in hospital for 3 months and exercised in the hospital gym and undertook speech therapy. I have been out of hospital for 9 months. My movement is better, but I suffer from sore limbs, fatigue and lack of appetite. It is a long road of recovery and it is important to listen to your body and let it dictate the speed of your recovery. At this point in time I am not the same person I was before the SAH, but I know at some point I will be the person I used to be. Patience is a great virtue. Lynn.
