  1. Thanks guys, I wasn't panicking - it's more irritating but as you so rightly say I will go & get it checked out. Tiger balm - is that the very cold month stuff?
  2. Hi all, Does the neck pain ever go away? I seem to have an issue with the left side of my neck which is my SAH side whereby it almost feels as if I have pulled it most of the time and if I try to do anything weight wise it does actually pull. It didn't used to do this! Also arm numbness. I have this weird sort of feeling whereby from about half way down my fingers to half way up my upper arm I keep going numb/a little tingly. Is this what others have experienced and did any body find anything that helps? Thanks Emma
  3. Hi Sarah, I had a grade 1/2 SAH in. November too and have suffered with headaches since. I went to see my GP last week as the headache had lasted 2 weeks around my eyes/temples. She immediately panicked and sent me into hospital for a CT scan and lumbar puncture. All which came back clear. And was discharged. I then spoke to my rehab nurse and she asked me if I was stressed/tired/worried etc etc. It now appears that I am full of a cold so maybe it was my brain reacting or an infection that at the time I didn't know I had! I think we all have to learn the new us!! It was a lot of fuss over nothing but by seeing my GP I have had anything more serious ruled out and also the stress and worry of that. Go and see your GP, they will be able to help you however that help comes about. Emma x
  4. Hi John & welcome! Glad you are doing ok. It's nice to hear of a happy ending. Emma.
  5. Hi Sarah, As all the others have said above the first thing you have done is found this website which is a great support to us all. Whatever question/worry you have somebody has always been there already and can help ease your worries a little. But again as above you really need to see your GP. You also need to ask them about occupational therapists. I have one who comes several times a week for memory and hearing reasons. I also have another lady comes to take me swimming/walking to help with the initial confidence that it sounds like you may need. My children were very worried about me when I came home. My 5 year old (who is a little bruiser) seemed to wrap me in cotton wool but things seem to be getting easier there too. Just remember you are never alone & there is always somebody who can help. 6. Hi Glynn & welcome! I too was 'miss diagnosed' by the paramedics who tried to give me paracetamol & leave me at home. I have since written to them in the politest way in the hope of raising the issue for a little re training and have been simply ignored! Am informed they followed correct procedure etc - my GP and consultant both think I should continue trying to advise them in the hope of helping others! Emma x
  7. Have just 'liked' the page on Facebook. Thank you
  8. Hi Lauren, Welcome & a Happy New Year! Emma x
  9. Hi Simon, Welcome to the site. I am new to all this too & prior to this I too had a very busy job. I was/am self employed running 5 companies with my husband. The new pace is VERY not like me and very frustrating - I understand how you feel. Emma x
  10. Hi Stuart, I am new to this like you. This site is fab, has answered many of the 'unknown' questions for me! Emma x
  11. Thanks guys, Your kind words and advice greatly appreciated. I have been working hard since my last post. Have now had an Orthoptic appointment to see how bad my eyes are, I go back in 6 weeks to do it all over again to see if there is any improvement. Have been to see an Osteopath about my neck (hurts from when I collapsed) is now far better after only one treatment. I also contacted LGI about my follow up which I have not received as yet to be advised that my surgeon is running 6-8 weeks behind and as such my appointment will be late. Wasn't too happy with that so I have claimed on my healthcare policy & am now seeing him in 2 weeks, hopefully this will give me piece of mind that I am now ok. Emma x
  12. Hi, My name is Emma, I suffered an SAH on 10/11/13. I have to say it was rather scary! I had all classic symptoms, headache, vomiting, collapse, confusion which were frightening enough yet when the paramedics arrived they offered to give me some paracetamol and leave me at home. I found this really concerning and have complained about them - purely because this would have been a serious error of judgment on their part and at the end of the day could have caused my death! The aneurysm was coiled on the 11/11/13 - I have little recollection of the first few days. I spent nearly two weeks in hospital and was sent home with little information. Is there anything I shouldn't be doing/should be doing apart from no flying or driving? What follow ups will I get? I have been left with double vision and I struggle focusing, will this get any better everybody seems vague. How long can you not drive for? I know lots of questions but it's strange how little you get informed of! Emma x
