  • SAH/Stroke Date
    29 January 2008 Non-aneurysm SAH
  1. I had my Non-Aneurysm SAH stroke on January 29th 2008 - and it has taken nearly 2 years to get back to some "normality". My SAH was "an unfortunate accident" probably brought on by stress, or so I was told by my consultant. It came out of the blue, I was healthy 45 year old but It certainly was a life-changing event being so close to death. I am looking forward to putting it behind me, drawing a line, and getting on with my new life. The depression has lifted but I still suffer with fatigue, dizzy spells, not in a head-spinning way, but as if my balance is not quite right, or like I'm walking on the deck of a ship! Anyway it's getting better (they warned me it would be a long, slow journey) along with the fatigue and the weak leg. The fear of having another haemorrhage, however, never leaves me, and probably never will. I would love to meet up with people in Hertfordshire if possible. My bible is A Dented Image by Alison Wertheimer - a great read which has helped me through my recovery, I would thoroughly recommend it to all survivors.
