Ron
Hi, 3 weeks after my NASAH and I’m still having awful headaches, especially during the night. Any advice on how long this might last, and the best way to deal with it - currently taking Paracetamol and occasionally codeine. Super Mario
Ron, Welcome to BTG. You are extremely early in your recovery. Baby steps are the order of the day or else you will find yourself taking a backward step. As for the headaches, everyone is different as to the speed of their recovery. There is no timeframe. Your brain has taken a severe battering and will need time to recover. Most survivors find that keeping very well hydrated by drinking lots of water really does help to alleviate headaches, well worth a try. Feel free to take part in the banter in The Green Room when you feel up to it and please come back to update us as your recovery progresses.
Ron
Hello Super Mario, Thankyou for your words of encouragement. I think I am in too much of a rush to get back to feeling normal, so thanks again for managing my expectations. Ron
Megan Mac
35 year old mom of 3 littles here. 10 days out from my NASAH. I just found this forum. I'm really struggling in every way possible. The headaches are so terrible and I feel like I lost every good part of me.
JooT
Hi Megan Mac, Hope you’re ok. I felt like I struck gold when I found this forum, it’s really nice to read and have the support of other people. I am 33 with two little boys also, I feel your struggles. do you have the support of family? I am just over 5 weeks post my NASAH, and am still struggling with my pain, some days are better than others. My pain is heightened when I sit and stand up, so spend most of my time laying down. how are you sleeping? I’ve recently bought myself a V pillow as per another post suggesting it to me, and it’s really helped with the pain when I sleep. I have also purchased a migraine relief cap from Amazon, which you can cool or warm and it is soothing. Take care xx
