Skippy
Hi Annie You say you are a non SAH - I don't know an awful lot about you, but what happened to you? Sorry if I'm being nosey :? Love Sami xxx
Louise
Hi there We/Ronnie stripped half the bedroom on Saturday then the rest yesterday Monday, he took today off today which was as well as I'm really tired today been out & got paper & paint, the works getting started next Monda. Sunday's meal out was lovely but that's why I was so done in yesterday with the bedroom being stripped & using so much energy up on Sunday night seeing people that I've not seen in a long time some not since before the Haemorrhage so that's real hard work for me. All for now Louise.x
Karen
Hi Louise, Yes, I can well imagine that you are feeling pretty tired with such a busy weekend ..... it's pretty hard work holding a conversation for a long time as well..........I know that I can still only do a max of about 2 hours and then I'm completely whacked and my brain just wants to shut down. I'm hoping that will improve in time, but I'm not as sociable as I used to be .....most people are understanding....but I seem to run out of steam....I used to be able to talk the hind legs off a donkey, not anymore! Anyway, take it easy....put your feet up...hopefully, you'll enjoy your bedroom once it's all finished. Lots of Love K x
Annie
Sami.... sorry to confuse you. I am a "nonA" SAH. I used that term to mean non-aneurism SAH. There are a number of us on this site that had SAHs but not an aneurysm. So that's nonA.
Karen
Hi Annie, I also wondered what a nonA was! Now you've explained it, it's quite clear what it means......."oh doh! Karen".......oh well, blame it on the brain cells!! Lots of Love K x
Skippy
Hi Annie Thanks for clearing that up. Could you explain though what happened in your case? as obviously I know how mine felt (pop in head and then thunderbolt headache) but what happened and how with you. Take care Love Sami xxx
Annie
Hey Sami, Welllll..... I was just telling hubby that I need to write out my "story" for this site. He's going to help me with an outline and I'll get to it soon. But for now: Mine started pretty much the same as yours. I was riding and had what I thought was a severe sinus headache. Later when I bent over to take off my boots I felt a snap in my head followed by 3 distinct trails of pain that shot down the back of my neck simultaneously. I knew that was weird, so I just kept my head level, got in the car and went home. I told Jack I felt strange and then had a bowl of soup. Minutes after that the vomiting started and then it was violent dry heaves for an hour when Jack finally called the emergency squad. He recognized the symptoms of stroke because of his dad's death a few years ago and kept telling the ER to do a cat scan. Which they did, found bleeding and transferred me to Neuro at another hospital. Four days of intensive care, 2 days in regular room after that, then 7 weeks of terrible illness and complications and a couple of more hospital trips. I'll write more on that later. Skippy
Hey Annie WOW!!! Spectacular. I'll never understand how the human body can have the ability to destroy itself. Why do we have an apendecitis? its a sac of poison that could kill us and serves no purpose. my theory is that its a sac left over from evolution when we needed something to put predators off eating us!! But hey, I theorise too much anyway!! Can't wait to read your full story though. I'm amazed by how many different versions there are to what is fundamentally the same result. Anyway off home for the evening now. Catch you all later Love Sami xxx
andyp
Strangely i was reading today a bit about biological evolution and you may not be far wrong with the appendix..We used to need it but it has evolved that we don't over many many years! Skippy
Hey Wow, maybe I was a neanderthal in a previous life 8O Back to the whole Ginkgo thing. My herbalist said yes I can take it, the pharmasist said no I can't and then when I got home last night there was a message on the answer machine from my Doctor saying yes I was OK to take it!!!! Is it any wonder there isn't a list of what we can and can't take? They'd never agree on it. Anyway I've decided to wait until November 8th to ask my consultant - who apparently my sister in law used to work with Right then, duty calls Catch you later Love Sami xxx
Louise
Hi Sami Is it any wonder that people get confused (like ME). :? It’ll be interesting to see what the consultant says, Bye just now Louise.x
Skippy
Hi We were expecting a difference of opinion but between the Doctor and the Herbalist not the Doctor and the Pharmacist!!! The Doc must have looked into it because its taken him nearly a week to get back to me. But like I say, am going to hold off taking it until I talk to the specialist. Speak later Sami xx
Karen
Hi Girls, Typical.....how on this earth are we meant to know what to take, when they also have a difference of opinion? A List would still be totally useless. Will scrap that idea, as it would be even more confusing. 8O I would also have thought that the difference of opinion would be between the Herbalist and your Doc.....quite surprising really! Like you say Sami, you're better to talk to your Neuro Consultant about it. Love K x
Skippy
Hi Might be worth getting a list and getting herbalist, Doc, Consultant to tick which ones we can use separately and then those that they have all ticked we'll know we'll be ok with There should be some standard guidelines though for something that now seems so common. Karen
Hi Sami, Yep, you would think that there should be some sort of guidelines with the meds....I'm due to see my Doc on Monday, so will have a chat to him about meds. Will also e-mail the Nurses at Southampton later on today to see if they can e-mail me something. Love K x
Karen
Re: Ginkgo - My GP said definetly do not take. Love K x
Skippy
Hi Karen Do you think thats because you're already on other medication? I'm not taking anything at all apart from paracetamol now and again. Maybe the fact that it stimulates blood flow would interfer with your meds. Karen
Hi Sami, The GP said we shouldn't take any medication that thins the blood after having a SAH. Didn't get long to speak to him as he was running behind schedule! Hope all is well with you, Love K x
Skippy
Hi Karen How weird is that!! Now we have one Doc saying yes and one saying no, one herbalist saying yes and one saying no and a pharmacist saying no. No wonder we're confused. I'd decided that I'm going to ask the specialist when I see him before taking it again anyway - wonder if my Doc looked into the thinning strength of it? If it not that potent perhaps he thought it'd be safe. Oh well Love Sami xxx
