TJRCGG
My hubby is three months post SAH now and doing okay. We are looking forward to a more low key Christmas something we did not think we would together. I find that some days he is slower than others do you find this as well with your progress? We now have a couple of weeks off of work to really focus and relax something that I haven’t really been able to do myself since it happened. I still worry about the future for us both but realise it will not be like it was prior to his SAH. I see on here that people have check ups but the neurologist we saw over here when we got back said everything was fine and just go home and enjoy your life’s. I really worry in case he has another one but he said he is as likely to have another one as he was the first. Merry Christmas everyone as I’m so glad I came across this site. subzero
Hello again, and great to hear that you are both now much more `at ease` with your husband`s condition knowing that there is no quick recovery from such a trauma. Good that you are now able think of having a relaxing time over Christmas. The subject of a check-up is again very dependant on the individual consultants dealing with you. For some it is 6 months...others a year. It will give you peace of mind if you make contact with your consultant just to ask when or if a check-up will take place in the future. Mean time, wishing you both a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Well done to you both thus far Subs
ClareM
Hi well done on reaching 3 months post SAH. Hopefully Christmas will be a time for relaxation for you both. My first Christmas post SAH was fine, I just slept for the whole afternoon I was so exhausted after cooking the dinner! Regarding follow ups they vary depending on where you were treated. If I remember you had you bleed while on holiday and were reviewed on your return. The neurologist you saw would have reviwed all the scans you had abroard and presumably found nothing to worry about. I was seen approx 3 months after my bleed after a detailed MRI. I didn't see the consultant who carried out my surgery just the Nurse Specialist who dealt with SAH patients. She was brilliant and explained that my scan was all clear and that I could be discharged with no worries about a recurrence. I am sure if there was any query about whether you needed to be followed up you wouldn't have been discharged. Have a great Christmas, relax and rest. Chelle C
Hi, it sounds like things are beginning to settle down for you now, just keep taking things one day at a time and just make sure your husband still has his rest when he needs to, it will be good for you both to have some down time to relax over Christmas, as Claire said they wouldn't have discharged your husband if there were any problems. Wishing you both a Merry Christmas and all the very best for 2018. Love Michelle xx

Hello, I like you am very glad to have found this site. I am 7 months out from my SAH followed by vasospasm. I found through the first six month period to have some days that were better than others. I found it discouraging and was thinking, this is just what it is going to be. I am surprised to have made another level of improvement at month 6. I am finding I have more sustained energy and seem to have found my happy place again. I hope your hubby continues to improve. Three months is still very early in recovery from all I read. Merry Christmas wishes to you both and good health.
