  1. Hiya you certainly have been through the mill, what a shame. Try not to rush things and enjoy the little things you see improving each day. Its really hard sometimes but it will get better and this site is great for finding out information and for having a moan to people who understand :-D

Hope you are having a better day today

  2. yes it would be nice if they just said we will need to just have a closer look but first impressions are it looks ok - but they just keep you waiting

I haven't even seen anyone at all and I had my sah 4 months ago  its mad - my very first appointment is next week - I know I don't have any physical problems but i'm pretty messed up inside so would be nice for someone just to say how are you

your poor mum that is just awful - does she swear and stuff and that's why she wont leave the house? I have seen people with tourettes out and about and they wear a necklace thing saying they have tourettes so people know they are not just shouting abuse for nothing - I can understand why she wouldn't want to wear one right enough - poor lady

Hope you don't need to wait to long for your results

  3. Hi Julie

great news that you managed a better sleep last night.

my sleep was all over the place for first couple of months, sleeping loads during the day but then also going to bed early and sleeping - although not all through the night. Now I don't need a sleep in the day and although I go to bed about 10ish I am usually not sleeping till after 11 - I do wake three or four times in the night though, usually because i'm sleeping on my right side and my head feels weird and squashed ( the side I had the operation on)

I have everything crossed that you sleep well tonight Julie

  4. thanks guys - its good to hear all the different experiences makes me feel better. I've not been to bad today although I do have a sorer head than my usual everyday head but I can handle that its the weird feeling in my body I didn't like because it made me think I was going to have a seizure and also a bit spaced out - oh the joys of a brain bleed

Hopefully it wont get worse but if it does I will be sure to go to the doctors

    Thanks again Lesley xx

  5. Hi everyone

I'm sure there will be a thread on this already but I cant see it and not sure which section - so if anyone can point me in right direction or help me it would be really appreciated

I have to cut down my seizure tablet from 2 to 1 a day - I only started yesterday but this afternoon I felt a bit strange and still do but not quite so bad - I had tingly feeling down my left side of head, arm and leg - I'm not sure if i'm making it up but I don't think I am (hope you know what I mean ) Is this normal - I know we are all different but if anyone could let me know what they experienced i'd be very grateful.

  6. Hi

Well i have had bad headaches all week because I've been bored so tried to sort out my personal paperwork- 20mins headache stop start stop start grrrrrrr sah is getting me down - BUT on the up side (soooo sarcasric) i got a phone call from my consultant asking me some questions because he was finally filling in my dvla form that i think hes had for about 6wks :-) then i got a letter in from my consultant saying i have an appointment on 19th sept for check up (a meer 4.5mths after being discharged ). Then i receive a letter from my local doctors office saying "since you have recently been discharged from hospital could you make an appointment for a check up" RECENT its been 3.5 mths aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Is it just me ??????

Just as well i have BTG to help me and keep me sane. Its like "ok we have drilled into your skull and fitted a clip so ****** of and have a nice life"

I'm sorry just venting my anger and going slightly mad :-).

  7. Hi Debbie

Im glad you found this site, I've found it very useful because like most people i was just put out of hospital and told nothing :frown:

I had my sah on 8th may this year so 3months for me too - i look great on the outside , well exceot for my mad haircut :-). But my inside is a mess- i get really tired doing every day things, and my emotions are all over the place, i get sooo angry, irratated easily, cry at nothing, depressed, anxious, dont always like to leave the house although i tr-y and make myself- i dont know if im coming or going most of the time and its very frustrating- sometimes because i look "normal" i feel i should be normal and think people might think I'm pretending to be unwell inside.

Anyway thank god for this site, i found it after i came out the hospitsl and its helped my recovery because i know im not alone- i hope it helps you too

  8. Hi kerry. Glad you found this site as it is very helpful and everyone is very friendly :-)

Im bit differnt to you- i had an sah but they know where mine was from- none the less we are the same as in had brain bleed which is horrendous and put out of hospital with no information which is also horrendous.

I had mine on 8th may this year followed by surgery- craniotomy- on the 9th- was in hospital for almost 2wks but when i left was told nothing except You will be tired and dont think of going to work for at least 4 months, goodbye??????

Everyone is different but this site is really helpful- seems very quick to be out hospital- did they say nothing?

Drink 2 to 3 litres of water a day, definately helps the headaches

Hope your not feeling to awful, Lesley xxx

  9. Thanks guys :-)

I will contact them in a couple of weeks if not heard anything- a friend has given us her log cabin from sunday and im hoping i manage to stay for at least a week so will contact them on my return.

I really think when you leave hospital it should be with an appointment for a check up be it 4wks or 6wks whatever but at least it would be something. Obviously I've had no real complications or i would have had to call someone but thats not the point- i might not need to be taking some of the meds - i might have been depressed and no one would know

Anyway I'll get on their case when i come back

  10. Hi. I just want to moan about the ZERO after care

I had my sah on wed 8th may and my craniotomy on the 9th which is 9 weeks ago- care in hospital was fantastic but ive been out 7 weeks now and had nothing- nada-zilch contact with anyone. Thats a lie my doctor came to see me for a few minutes when i got out to say sorry to hear what happened hope your ok goodbye - seriously that was all. They opened up my skull for godsake I thought id at least get a check up of some sort, even an appointment to ask how you feeling. I'm really angry about it.

I take painkillers and common sense tells me to take them when needed and if i feel i dont need so many then dont take them - same with the ones that help me go to the loo. However what am i supposed to do about the one i take morning and night for seizures and the one i take in the morning that helps your tummy because your taking so many god damn pills

Sorry to rant but i feel sort of abandoned

    Lesley xx

  11. That is ridiculous Desy definitely should have had scans for both at the one time thats just madness

I was pretty much a new romantic back in the day so my new hair do is growing on me but i didnt think in a million years id go back to the 80s when i was 46 hahahaha.

  12. Hello Bonkers sorry Desy :-)

You sound in very good spirits which is great- i hope your foot doesn't hurt too much.

I had sah on 8th may and had craniotomy surgery- I'm lucky as not been left with any disabilities (none that ive come across anyway) i do get headaches although not horrendous and i get tired doing the simplest thing but I'm sure that will get better.

Keep singing it makes you feel better - watch out for Win cause she will want to do a duet :-)

  13. Oh David what a shame :frown:

I am new to all this, it will be 8wks this week so cant really help but this is one of the things I've been worrying about because we look ok on the outside people assume we are ok but we are NOT ok

Apart from my weird hair style i look ok and sometimes think people think im kidding on when i say i have a sore head or say how tired i am- and when i get exhausted from walking less then 200 yards I'm positive they think I'm at it :frown:

Possibly if she had a look on here and read some of the things she would realise your not ok

I wish you well and DONT push for anyone its you that will suffer

    Lesley xxxx

  14. Hi Sarah

Glad you have joined the sit and well done with your recovery- im still early on in my recovery- had my sah nearly 7wks ago, I need to take a leaf out your book and start some gentle exercise to get my strength back.

I have found this site wonderful, loads of friendly people and lots of advice and tips plus just hearing different stories and how people are getting on I think all helps.

Hope yiu find it as theraputic and helpful as me

    Lesley xxx

  15. Sarah. I know how you feel because i feel anxious at the thought of my hubby leaving me on my own for any length of time- but as you say its irrational It Wont happen to us again- we cant help how we feel though so just tell him and ask if he would come home if you phone him.

You will be ok- good luck xxxx

  16. Hi

Every now and then through out the day I get a sound in my head, click click click click- its driving me mad. It sort of sounds like if you click your nails. I had a craniotomy 6wks ago and the sound is on that side - is it anything to do with that or am i just going bonkers after my sah?????

I have my fingers crossed that this is common if not I'll be crying again
