  1. Hi Everyone,

I am after some advice, I have returned to work but realise its too much for me and I cant do it as I still feel terrible after my crainiotomy.

    Thanks

  2. Hi Tina

Thanks for the reply hope you are well. I partly blame my stressful job for my illness and I am returning in the New Year I am really dreading it. I am only going part time but my scar twitches at the thought!

I have a check up on the 10th Jan so have lots of questions for my nurosurgeon. Well I am off to wrap some presents my partner oh now husband to be (we got engaged a few weeks ago) is out doing my Christmas shopping.

    Have a great weekend

    Jo xx

  3. thanks for the reply, I have my scar in the same place as yours i had 45 staples. When my family came to visit the said they had no mirrors in their bags and I could tell by their faces I looked awful. When I finally managed to look in one I nearly fainted!!

My jaw has healed nicely its just the top and near to my ear that hurts I got a fringe put in to hide the scar. Did you have any problems with your eye? Some days mine is very squinty.

    Thanks

  4. Hi Everyone,

I joined this site about 3 months ago and posted my story about my SAH 5 years ago. Since then I developed another anyersm and was waitining for a coiling procedure.

To cut a long story short I ended up having to have an emergency crainiotomy and it has turned my world upside down.

I was not at all prepared to understand the after effects of this operation, as to the pain and how bad I looked for weeks after it, I had it on the 19th September. I still feel really down and am wondering when the pain and sometimes eye swelling will go.

I would really appreciate some advice and sharing some of your events.

Thanks and hope you are all doing well

    Jo xx

  5. Hi Liz,

Your SAH is quite recent I hope your are recovering well, it's amazing how many people are suffering with them these days it just goes to show how stressful life has become. Thanks for the advice, if nothing happens next week them I will have to take it further.

    Take care

  6. Hi Kel,

I just think they are saying anything to keep me from complaining any furthur. I rang the other day and now the surgeon is off on long term sick, surely there must be more than one surgeon. My GP said he could refer me to another hospital but I cant face starting the whole procedure again.

You SCH is still relatively recent I hope your angiogram goes well best of luck and why is it that so many of us have SCH in December? mayne we should cancel the stress of Christmas!!

    Take care

  7. Hi

Thanks for the advise, I already got in touch with the patient services who looked into it for me. They came back to say my surgeon said maybe I didn't really need the op and would need another angio to determine this.

I was devastated as I find the angio a really distessing experience and I felt even more fobbed off than usual. My partner is getting very irate with it all and I feel like just giving up on it all as we can't plan or do anything.

I must admit I am amazed how many people have had SAH as before I had mine I had never heard of it

  8. Hi

I has my SAH back in December 2005 and had the coiling procedure. I saw my consultant in January this year who informed me that after a check up MRI that I has a second anyersm which giving my past history would need coiling in the next six weeks.

Now 7 months on I am still waiting after having the procedure postponed on a few occasions due to staffing problems etc. Can anyone tell me if they have had the same problems I feel I am getting fobbed off all the time when I call to ask about progress.

    Jo
