  1. Hi Karen I did get checked out right away but because it was different to any other sensations will be discussing it with my G.P.

Like yourself I suffer from build up of pressure and have numbeness and tingles around my scar sight also. I try holding my nose and blowing to get rid of the pressure, it works sometimes.

  2. Hi Blondie I actually wasnt doing anything I was watching T.V at the time.

Like you since my SAH I get all sorts of weird sensations but this one was completely different and I felt unwell for a couple of hours after, which was why Morris made me go to hospital.

  3. On Monday night whilst on holiday I experienced a really weird feeling in my head.

It felt as if the blood all rushed up into my head and although not painful I felt as if I was going to black-out. The after effects left me feeling hot/cold at the same time and slightly nauseauos.

Morris took me to the local A & E who gave me an ECG took blood and monitored me for a few hours but then let me go. Obviously it frightened us but it hasn't re-occured since.

I will be going to my own Doctors Monday to discuss it but just wondered if anyone else has had anything similar post SAH.

  4. I flew for the first time at the beginning of May. I found the pressure on take off and landing a bit more intense but otherwise ok.

Even though I enjoyed the holiday I was wiped out for the week after and my headaches were a lot more intense.

  5. Sorry it went so badly for you. I suppose I should be grateful then as I never had an angio before my op as it was a Saturday only had the one three days post surgery and its not an experience I'd like to repeat in a hurry....

Hope you have a problem free one next time

  6. Hi Aine

My anni was undiagnised for nearly a week but luckily they kept me in. My gripe was with the neuro specialist who looked at my CT/MRI scans on the Thursday by only holding them up to the sunlight and was suprised he couldn,t see anything.

The only good thing he did was take them back to Walton with him where it was found from the initial CT scan, the process could and should have been a lot quicker.

  7. Hi Karen it is the thought of the drill putting me off and since I'm not in pain may postpone them until really necessary. I also find that with having had a craniotomy my jaw has been affected so can't open my mouth as wide as I used to.... Real pain when I spoil myself with a cream cake as I have to nibble round them....

Aine I think I'd rather have a tummy bug than visit the dentist any day, I only go when I really have to anyway. Was the angio okay by the way..

  8. Hi Jenny

I found I lost quite a lot of hair in the first few weeks after my SAH but I'm really lucky as I have no bald spots but my hair is definitely thinner.

My hairdresser also noticed that the left side the side were I had surgery grew a lot slower than the right for a few months. Its still not as thick as it used to be but can't complain as used to have to have it cut every three weeks now I last four weeksbetween cuts...

  9. Totally agree with you all, I am definitley not as tolerant as I used to be and also find evenings are worse. I love my grandsons dearly but when they start fighting and crying I have too leave the room.

I agree with you Karen/Keith its the noise level and I feel quite nasty as they're far too young to understand Owen is 7 but the other three are 2 at three years and the youngest is only 20 months. Oh joy when they are all in the house at the same time......

  10. Hi

I also find that I get anxious and disorientated when I 'm out, its not as bad now as it was but I find its worse when I'm out on my own.

I did manage to go to the theatre Monday but was very anxious whilst there and my eyes didn't like the flashes of light but I enjoyed most of the show.

I find if I'm on my feet for too long at anyone time I get dizzy and my head does play up cost a lot more than it used too going to town ...extra stops in cafes.

  11. I find that I need more sleep post SAH, the first couple of months after I used to sleep for a couple of hours in the afternoon and go to bed about 10 p.m and sleep right through til at least 8 a.m.

Now I don't nap during the day but have to go to bed before 10.30 at night need at least 8 hours sleep or feel awful all day. Before SAH I could manage on a lot less sleep.
