  1. Hi Joanne

I returned to work on a phased return 6 months after my SAH in June 2008, just did a couple of afternoons, I was keen to go back an prove I was ok, however the journey in was enough!, didnt have much to do and work were very good, no pressure, however was extremley tired, couldnt be bothered and no interest. I am now on another 2 weeks sick and considering early retirement and change of job and hopefully a fresh start! Hope you continue to make a good recovery, you will alwatys find help and advice here.

  2. Welcome to a great site. I am 7 months post SAH and thought I was doing ok, then a cold knocked me back! still get tired and lack energy. I was able to drive 6 months after and what a relief that was. Take it easy and sleep when you have to.

  3. Perhap you can help -

I am a manager for a Behaviour Support Service in a Local Education Authority. I was keen to return to work 6 months after my SAH and couldnt wait to see people again and to have some sort of normality back in my life but after going back for a couple of half days a week, I'm not so sure it is what I want to do or if I want to be there, I really couldnt give a monkies about what is happening and look forward to coming home again, I have always worked and given it my all, working long hours and having sleepless nights about it! My husband thinks I should push for ill health retirement and then do something completely different. I still get tired. What do you think?

    Thanks

  4. Hi

My hair was all over the place for a few months! and grey! but had it dyed about 5 months after SAH - wasnt ready to stay grey just yet!, I also struggled with looking in the mirror, lost so much weight as well, but begining to get used to it now. Having my hair done was good, made me feel much better, you will too!

  5. Hi

Just a note to thank you all for your advice and support since my SAH in June, this is such a worthwhile site that gives survivors somewhere to turn to. I have started back to work this week for two mornings on a phased return. No longer is work a priority in life and I really appreciate what is important to me, but it is good to be back and experiencing some 'normality'. Once again thank you. :D

  6. Hi

Just be patient and give it time - easier said than done I know, my husband and daughters visited me everyday for a month and I dont remember! was hard for them I know, but I've come through the other side and am making good progress. Things will get better, take care
