  1. hi shanty thanks for post ,(i was 70 in oct )I to am no spring chicken ,and suppose as we are older(very scary) still i try not to think about my age (hoping it will help ha ha )really you have done well for 12 months,(i am only 8 weeks since sah ) i to find at the end of the day it closes a bit ,but by then im ready for bed,i would have been lost without everybodys help and this channel you did well to be back driving, so soon ,(i hope i am) it really seems a long and winding road to follow , (just hope i get there) thanks again ,will catch you again love prue
  2. hi ann that was so good of you , thanks so much i think like you did i am trying to hard ,as i had a cervical laminectomy only in march and got over that pretty good (again by pushing myself) only to go down with this in sept ,(my trouble is i am so strong willpower,i dont ever give in ,when i know i should) like you i have been walking trying to go a bit further, (then wonder why i am so tired )when i left hospital (the consultant did say on good days you may think you can go further, dont do it ,(as one day you wont get back) how right she was, i tend to forget my age ,(but i will learn very fast )anyway thanks again ann hope you are going on ok love prue
  3. hi again thank you for post (yet again i am having a bad day)I think i am trying to hard to fight it all,and its no good pushing yourself to far (it does not work)must admit my arm is giving me a lot of discomfort which is not helping,had physio yesterday at hospital(what a struggle it was)i really was exhausted at the end ,my eyes are not good to day,so i am taking it easy to day,thanks again karen ,will catch you later love pruex
  4. hi elaine thanks for your reply all of it is much , more worrying as we get older,(like your mum i have allways been so independant) never still ,my husband was in the navy so I spent a lot of time,(just me and my son)so i had to do everything, hence why Iam never still, so this has really hit me hard,(Ialso did a job all hours now when we could be taking ,it easy ,(we get this) so looks like its quite A journey ,AHEAD WE WILL GET THERE HOPEFULLY give my regards to your mum ,love prue.
  5. hi karen, i only sent a message to ann today, saying ,as the weeks have gone by ,I have felt, MORE TIRED,than i was in the start,Ok i know (its early days for me7 weeks)and I HAVE a longer , way to go(it frightens me,(now)so dare to think about IT,ESPECIALLY at age 70.love prue xxx
  6. hi ann one question you had your sah 9 months before me (i seem to be getting more things coming in now )the heads seem to be weird ,did you go through this stage at 7 weeks (or what were you like at 7 weeks) would like to know how you felt is it normal what im going through (Im sure it all is.) await your reply love prue.

[hi mutti thanks for your reply I really am having a bad day (like you say i seem to be dizzy most of the time )ihave felt worse since my patch is off even though my eye has opened really well (not perfect but pretty good)(like I am now suffering with my spine and shoulders )it sure is a very frightning time (it sure is very scary.(fatigue to day is very bad ) but it seems most people have been through IT SO IMUST CARRY ON ,will close for now catch you later pruexx
  8. hi ann thank you for your reply, my 7 weeks have seemed like 7 years i am always more of a active person,always looking for somethig to do, ive never found time to sit still, ive loved walking my dog, as we live near the fields it was a big shock to me ,i always thought i was quite fit,so i most certianly did not expect it still shows (we never know whats in store)any way thanks ann for your reply,will speak to you again love prue xx
  9. i dont know about a duck to water (its all done with one finger i sure will never make a typist ha ha)but i used to kick up when my husband was on it (saying what are you doing/)it seemed he was never off of it,but he is much faster than me, i honestly have never spent so much time up on this computer.i dont go on the rest not my scene,thanks again beth catch you again love prue xx
  10. hi karen it is always so lovely,(to hear from you all)it is so amazing how much better we all feel just knowing some one is out there to talk to,(why they dont give a leaflet at the hospital to tell us about this web page)there must be hundreds of people out there,suffering wondering (what comes next)we would be so lost without you all cant thank you enough,for how you have all helped me,and i am only just at the start really 7 weeks,(its a goodjob i am learning on this computer,as i used to curse it ,when my husband learnt to use it ha ha )now he hasnt a chance to get on it ,(only when i dont know what to do, next)or put me right(still stops me thinking about myself)thanks again for reply hope you are having a good day.lots of love pruexx(did this without any help i wonder if i will be to old to get a job when i am better,ha ha )(ive learnt to day how to space the words when i make a mistake ha ha)love pruexxx
  11. hi janet thanks so much for your reply,(all of these strange feelings are so strange and so frightening)i keep thinking im going backwards,(especially with the heads and not sleeping very well,and because of my age,)what would we do without,this channel.(and karen to talk to plus every body else)as you can guess by my mail(not having a good day)i think i was better at the start, untill all these effects started to come in,(plus all this internet to me is all new i never went on it )it was my husband now he hardly gets the chance when i came out of hospital i just did not know where to go to find out anything ,my consultent told my husband to go to the (the british brain and spine foundation)but gave no other advice(so we had to all to sort out for help)once again forgive for any mistakes i am still a big learner thanks again for your help love pruexx
  12. had my sah 30 sept pleased to say my eye seems to be opening fairly well now,(but now finding back to more dizzeness could it be because that eye is now being used more.)the eye is still not perfect, but a lot better,still got lots of strange feelings in my head , but i suppose is to be expected,(i am also now getting lots of odd pains down my spine ,i did read one of (karens letters about blood draining from the brain down the spine,)does any one know how long that takes? is it quite common? be glad of any advice.love pruexx
  13. hi janet im sure i wont dare try a drink ill be to afraid as beforei could not drink much as i really suffered badly (so as it is still very early days still i had better leave well alone) ive enough to cope with as it is (never mind everybody says it does get better so im waiting for it to happen) love prue xx
  14. hi laura,many thanks for your reply,ive yet another bad day(bad night with my arm)plus the restwe go through as you can tell ,im only just getting use to this computer ,its only since i found btg that i have used it,its my husbands really (so pleaseforgive if there ,are lots of mistakes)as long as you can understand me it will be ok as he is out at the moment, and cant rectify all my mistakes.ha ha (it takes me ages to put a letter together,all with one finger(but i am trying to go a bit faster ha ha.normaly i dont go near the thing,anyway i shall try a drink at xmas just one as i really am scared to try it well i better go and do something(before he comes back and looks at all my mistakes.)lots of love pruexx
  15. thanks so much karen,the operation cerviacal lamenectomy done in march was on my neck they open up the neck (and that is suppose to take about 12 months or more )but i was doing really well,untill all of this it is so annoying,(what with the neck sah and my arm it really is nasty) after the neck,i fell down tripped down the stairs my handbag was at the bottom and i caught my foot in the handle and went flying, tried to save myself but feel on my arm ,now i can hardly move it at all.so iwas having physio,but of course then came the sah so that finished me right off, so i hope that is all 3 things done.anyway i will plod on again get myself together,bye for now pruexxxx
  16. thanks karen and louise,really having a miserable day seems all has been one thing on top of another i really was just getting over a (cerviacal lamenectomy)which i had in march 2008 was just feeling a bit brighter and doing things again,when bingo down i went with sah so now im battling again,(it seems non stop) but never mind i must battle on, and hope it comes right will catch you all later thanks so much for your post what would we do without you all.love pruexxxx
  17. trying hard to be without my patch double vision has been a little better,but did try a little walk,(not to bad )still feeling strange and miles away,(quite fed up with myself to day)had not a good day yesterday,my bad arm is still playing up, and my neck and shoulders are quite bad,have got physio on monday ,for my bad arm, im in more pain with my shoulders as well (what a state to be in)especially with all else going on ,if it still continues at the weekend i might go (bungy jumping )ha ha still i suppose it still is very early days for me 42 days since sah 30 sept 2008(will be afraid to have a drink at xmas)what a shame,still i only drink asti so it wont matter, i will be the only one sober,just hope some of my dizzyness goes away before then.will any one else be having a drink at xmas .love pruexxx
  18. hi elaine as well as my dog ,i to have a cat , 6 yr old ,spoilt to the ground,( have always had cats since i was a child,) plus all the cats around where i live, spend most of there time at my house that is until the owners come home from work, (and i love them all )several sleep in my green house together, i used to have a hobby making ponchos all crouched , until like your mum , have terrible arthritis, in my shoulders,and cant hold it when it gets heavy so had to stop it .well im just of to make a nice cup of tea regards to your mum and you have a good week love pruexx
  19. i seem to be getting a problem with my right eye now,my bad eye is the left,have been trying without the patch,{i wear glasses)so thought i would be wise to give it a go without my patch, but as soon as i put my glasses on ,its as if i have the wrong glasses on ,and my double vision is coming from my right eye (when its my left eye that has the patch on ) ido get times without getting double vision but if i look to the side or up (back to double vision) i know its very early days 39 days only (think im expecting miracles dont you)
  20. hi louise i really ought to look like a tomato as i grow them every year,and keep all my neighbours happy ,but did not know that ,so ive learnt something else to day,lots love pruexx
  21. hi its prue thanks for your reply i to love tomatoes i cant believe that i was short of it as ive grown them for years{and eat hundreds of them] especially in soups etc ,and yet he said i had a desperate shortage thanks so much for your reply love prue
  22. hi anne i was told my potassium levels where terribly low when i was in hospital and told to eat bananas dont know what the symptoms are of low potassium (dont like bananas) but iam eating them ,so just hope it works ,love prue

  24. hi laura yes i really was pleased with myself i just hope it continues, i havent done a lot to day,abit of hoovering and ironing, and because i had such a good day yesterday i am suffering a bit to day,maybe i over done it love prue xx
