  1. Hi All, Mark was 45 when he had his SAH in Nov 09 it was not caused by an aneurysm but it was an acute bleed in the right basal cisterns and the right sylvian fissure. After being sent to the wrong clinic in Dec to see a Consultant they then sent him an appointment through for August mainly because his CT scan was normal and he was not an urgent case. We have now got it changed to Feb as Mark wants to ask a load of questions. From what i have read it appears that the majority of SAH does affect woamen more than men. Love Diane xx
  2. i know the weather has lots to do with it and it is only been 2 months since his SAH. His CT in dec was normal but they sent him to the wrong clinic for a follow up appointment. to try and get hold of his consultants secretary to arrange another appointment is near impossible. Mark is getting bored and wants to know how much he can do with regards to exercise.
  3. what do you all take when your headaches are a bit worst than normal. diane xx
  4. Can anyone who has had an angiogram through the main artery in groin, how long did their discomfort last? 6. Mark, (hubby) is going for his ct scan today, he is doing ok, still has the headaches but is tolerating them and is getting stronger. Does anyone know if beta blockers are ok to take? We will check with the consultant when we see him next week, Mark just feels he is getting a bit stressed and he used to be on them. On the whole things are ok, i am back at work and i try not to worry about Mark too much. Diane xx;-)

Hi All, My hubby after 3 wks in hospital came home today. no aneruysms or arteriovenous malformation found. We are very lucky, follow up appointments in 3 wks and 4wks. Now to make sure he gets plenty of rest. Diane xx:smile1:
  10. I saw Mark this morning and he may be home on Wednesday all being well. He has sat out in the chair today and is walking unaided to the toilet. The headache is getting him down a bit now but i have told him they will be around for a bit and at least they are not like the one you went into hospital with. Thank you all for listening, i read you morning and night. Love Diane
  11. Mark my hubby did not come home at the weekend. He sat out yesterday to be told he should not be sitting out and should still be on bed rest. Mark his still having temple headaches that are just lying there, on a pain scale of 1 to 10 they are a 1ish to 2. Has anyone else experienced temple headaches? As you can imagine my mind is starting to tick again. I try so hard to be positive that hopefully he will be home soon as he feels well in himself and he is getting bored. I know if there was any bad news i would be getting calls from the hospital. Mark has been in nearly 3 weeks noe and had nearly finished the nimotop medication. bye for now Diane xx
  12. Doctors had there meeting and his consultant said if marks headaches are manageable then he could come home this weekend. They sat him up yesterday but as he sat up today he is getting a headache not bad but its there also at the back of his head. They are going to try and get him walking today. Are the headaches normal on sitting up. On a pain scale of 1 to 10 mark says it is a 1 or 2. Mark also has to has have another angio in 4 wks which he is not looking forward to. Diane xx
  13. HI All, Thank you for your support. I was at the hospital last night, Mark was a bit down as he really wanted to come home and the angio was very uncomfortable for him. I spoke to a staff nurse last night and she told me not to fret and not to worry as Mark will be fine. They are having a Doctors meeting on Friday as they do for all patients and that's where they will decide on what treatment. The whole time Mark has been in hospital he has remained stable, chatting and laughing. They hope to start sitting him up on friday. When people have gone down for coiling etc do they then go to intensive care? Dianexx
  14. I am just so worried, i was looking forward to him coming home and now i don't know what they will be doing. Will they do more scans an operation? I do worry that he might not come home. I know that is daft thinking. This is normal thinking? Diane xx
  15. Just had a text from mark, the scans have been seen but something dos not add up as he was too sick for too long when he came in and there is narrowing of the blood vessels which is more in keeping with an aneurysm so he won't be going any where til they know what is going on. Has anyone come across this before? Diane now extra worried xx
  16. It seems for the last 2 weeks i have been on auto pilot and then all of a sudden reality sets in, very scary. Mark has had his angio this morning, he is in a bit of pain from where they went in but still they could not find where his bleed came from but the blood is still there. How long does that take to reabsorb again? Diane xx
  17. Mark, my husband is due for his second angiogram tomorrow, the first was negative, if it is ok he may be discharged from hospital on Thursday after being in hospital for 2 weeksd. Why do i feel low?
  18. Thank you everybody, i have taken a month off work which i do feel guilty about but i cannot do everything as i have a 12 year old daughter to think about. I have some really good friends who were with me at the start and still are if i need a cry. I know i have to be positive and it is hard but it is now a week on and he has always remained stable. Dianexx
  19. i have been to see hubby today, he seems brighter in the morning than late evening. He had the result from the ct scan that was done on tues and there is no swelling and the blood is clearing. he has to lie on his back for another 2 weeks so he might have the angio next week or the week after. thank you for responding i do feel more confident when i have read other people threads. love diane
  20. Hi my name is Diane, my husband was admitted to hospital a week ago with severe headache, stiff neck and sore eyes and with his symptoms they said it was a bleed and a ct scan confirmed it. They did another ct scan to confirm an aneurysm this scan showed that the bleed had stopped. On Friday 6/11/09 he had an angiogram and it showed up negative they will do another next week as an aneurysm could be hiding. All through this period my husband never became unconscious, did not vomit and all his neuro obs have been fine and there has been no speech problems. At the moment he still has the headaches but not as bad sometimes they throb but his eyes are sensitive to the light. Is all this normal i am so very scared, i take consolation in the fact that the first angiogram was negative and i hope the next one will be, he has not been rushed off to theatre and i have no phone calls from the hospital. He had another ct scan on tues to rule out fluid on the brain no-one has said anything about that, sometimes i am too scared to ask. My husband is 45, i am 45 on Monday and i have my graduation in 2 weeks as i qualified as a nurse in January. Diane I live in Coventry
