As you know I am still having quite a lot of trouble with my headaches/migraines again. I have shown many common signs and symptoms of migraine but my doctors keep changing their minds as to whether they are migraines since SAH are 'just' headaches that are bound to occur since such a big injury!!

I used to suffer from migraines until I was about 13 but then they went off so unfortunately my guess is as good as my docs!!! LOL!!

I'm kind of hitting my head against a brick wall again at the mo- maybe thats why I gotta headache!!

That weirdly shocked me as I was going along saying too true etc!!! Next I was crying cos it sounds like stuff i say. Ridiculous really, cos read very similar tales in 'dented image' book.

Think I must be hormonal!!!

I know this is a drab subject to discuss but if you are a member of Headway (which I know lots of us are) they are offering a free will writing service with one of their solicitors. I would imagine i'm not on my own insaying that although I'm only 31 I have no will written and had no will when I was 27 (SAH time!) NOw i have received this leaflet, it will give the kick I need to get one written just in case.

If you are a member and you want one then just email/call headway and if your not a member its only £15 a year for lots of magazines etc and this great offer.

It is really sad to read about your daughter as often after the event do you really realise that it has affected so many people in lots of ways. I really feel for your little girl and hope that school (as an ex primary teacher) are doing their best to make her feel extra special and allowing her to talk when she wants to.

My advice would also be to give Headway a call. They are bound to have many avenues that you could explore for your daughter.

I rang them today about getting their advice about making a will but now can't remember their telephone number sorry!

I've had a particularly hard few months with a few different things going in my life that I am struggling with. Having had several gynaecology appointments, the consultant has gone mad about the fact i'm taking the pill after my SAH and has stressed the danger of me taking it not just cos of my SAH but because of other problems as well. He has given me 4 options and none of them are nice- basically resulting in me losing all my womanly functions! He doesn't want me to have the coil but I'm wondering whether I should give it a go before going for something so drastic but the trouble is, is that I've never heard anything good about the coil. Any advice would be great please!!!!!!

Sorry i've been so distant for so long - I'm finding it really difficult to cope with things at the mo and tears are a big part of my days. I was a bridesmaid yesterday so I had to muster all the happiness I could for the day. Today i'm back to headaches and tears etc.....Not helping the fact that whilst i'm having all these womanly problems, my sister and best friend both announce they are pregnant. I'm happy for them but feeling a bit selfish too and am upset.

I had critical illness cover and yes I did get my mortgage paid off. They did go back to my doctors and consultants for more information but I didn't have to appeal or anything. This said my case was clear cut once they had all the information.

I had absolutely no idea at the time or for nearly a year later until I joined this fab website and found out from there. I do agree that if I mention to friends that I had a stroke I get a completely different reaction to a SAH. I think that people are often too embarrassed to ask what a SAH is so they just want to live in blissful ignorance.

As stupid as it sounds I have had people who haven't realised how bad it was until I say that my insurance paid off my mortgage and then people go wow it must have been bad then, tell me exactly what happened- how stupid is that!

When i first went to my doctor after being discharged from hosp, my doc had no idea and I must say no other doctor at my surgery has either or any of the registrars at the hospital. It really infuriates me!

I rang my local paper last week to say that as it is brain injury week this week did the health reporter want to run a story on my SAH-heard no reply- thought that would help promote SAH. Might ring him again tomorrow.

Penny and Paul have been a fantastic help in getting my mum high level disability allowance (although its not for a SAH/stroke), from there we have also sorted cheaper council tax/ blue badge and prescription cards so that works out slightly cheaper. Also free car tax for either you as driver or the carer who goes and gets your prescriptions etc.

I'm sure between Penny, Paul and the different strokes website you will have the wealth of information, but please shout if you want anymore information on the above xxx

Really really can't stand either!!!! Simon loves them both. I can't stand the smell of either so I just stay away from him when he has either! Thats not difficult though!!!!!

Karen- you are as bad as Simon. He doesn't have tea or coffee in the house just marmite drinks. I can't stand the stuff or even the smell! I won't go near Simon when he has had a drink of it. Think that is why he drinks it :lol::lol:

I might try it in sauces although I must say I prefer Jan's alternatives!

I worked for an LEA and was referred to occ health EVENTUALLY! I'm not sure if its common practice though or just in bigger companies.

Can I be nosey and ask exactly what sort of work you do- it seems similar to mine- research??

I used to work for a LA as a teacher and also had a really poor phased return. they had me back to full time within 3 weeks. I lasted 4 weeks and then was off for 5 months on the sick again. I then had another phased return (again in 3 weeks) and was off again for 3 weeks. Then the consultant told me I had to leave. Do what you feel happiest with- I wanted normality and got bitten big style! Now there is no way I would go back in three weeks. It destroyed my confidence as well cos I felt I couldn't do anything. My advice is think hard about what you can do and don't let your work beat your down!
