  1. Hi my lovelies Thought I don't jump on Keith's bandwagon and come and say hello- my God I've missed you all- why have I not been on here!! Mind you I haven't found the time to do much recently as things has been so chaotic over the last 18 months/2 years with my family but hey that's what makes life interesting hey! Great to see lots of old faces as well as new. I need to spend more time on here to catch up. Love you all xx owe lots of people on here and this group as a whole masses for their constant support and reassurance ?? Laura xx
  2. Where abouts are you in Japan Joanna? My husbands best friend lives near new mata in gumma-kan. Well something like that anyway!!
  3. I've got it too and flip in and out of it when feeling in the right mood! It makes me cry very easily!
  4. Hi Joanna I teach 9, 10 and 11 year olds in England and things are much better now although I am 7 years on. When I returned straight after my sah I had very similar comments and was forced back to full time after only 6 weeks of part time phased return. Needless to say my head forced me out and I was actually told I would never teach again. Three years out of teaching doing education research and things got better. I then tried teaching again and absolutely love it this time around because I have support of my management team. My advice is talk to your management team and be honest! Fingers crossed all goes well for you xx
  5. Hi Caroline Welcome back:-D hope the leg heals well and that you are running around again soon xx
  6. happy anni-versary to you xx Lots of good health, wealth and happiness to you Hugs Lx
  7. I've always said on here that my moggy knows my inner most secrets and frustrations about my SAH and recovery. I came out of hospital in the September and got Miffy in the December. She was battered and bruised from the RSPCA but really gave me all the attention and fuss I needed. She has ended up soaking wet on several occasions because i've been so emotional and she doesn't want to leave my lap at those points. I must say as silly as it sounds but in my early stages of recovery Miffy was my hero, here 24 hours, 7 days a week. Don't get me wrong my hubby etc was amazing too but Miffy was there to counter balance the emotions and depression as well as the headaches etc. I don't know what I'd do without her!
  8. Thanks Sandi for the message about this post. Teech- I will definitely reply to you in length tomorrow when I can think and write in full sentences. I made exactly the same mistakes and did retire from teaching. HOWEVER, I have returned 3 years later and it is amazing- will expand on all this tomorrow. Your story is exactly the same as mine though- forced back way too early and rubbish HR. Stay positive you are a great teacher, you do have to become slightly more selfish though and get some extra me time. More to come tomorrow- big hugs Laura xxx
  9. Great news Jess Sounds like you're like me - lots of headaches but no idea why. My doc prescribes some tablets which slow down the nerve impulses in my brain and it has made a difference headaches aren't so bad hun xx Don't know whether it will help you but hope you can sort it. I have great admiration for you all with kids. I struggle with just me and Simon (other than the 25 all day lol!) Big hugs xx
  10. Interesting topic!! I miss: * not being able to do things on the spur of the moment like I used to- Now I plan breaks away, evenings out etc so I can still fit in work etc and not be too tired/headachey. * being carefree about headaches/ pain in head/spine- even 5 years on I still worry about different pains I get in my head and spine (from where the hospital staff left all the bad blood running down my spine until I was on deaths door virtually:roll:) * interacting with children as a teacher but much happier now i've been able to return to teaching!!
  11. I was only thinking about you a few days ago thinking that we had both survived the term at school but by the sounds of it mine has been more successful then yours. I need to thank you immensely for making me feel much more confident about the start of term. I wouldn't say its been easy but I've got through. I'm sure the hospital know what will be best for you hun and I wish you all the best with the consultants. Your health is more important than school and if you need to sleeo etc then so be it, thats my new attitude to life and school. Love and hugs Lxxxxxx
  12. Welcome Jai to BTG xx I have your name as my middle name lol!!!! Everyone is so friendly here, there will be loads of people to help with any questions you have xx
  13. I'd love to read a summary so on here or to my email would be great. If you want my email address please let me know.
  14. Hi James I'm 3 weeks over 5 years- I take it I can't reply. I used to work in education research so I know it can be strict rules as such!!!! Thanks Laura
  15. Jess please do- that will be interesting to see difference in opinions of consultants. However with the heriditary brain/skull condiiton in my family, I think it pushed my consultant over the edge!!
