Hi Phil,

You described Jim exactly how he was and once again due to my dismay is starting to be. Always on the go and did not know when to stop. I often wonder myself if this was the reason for his SAH. I truly believe in Jim's case that is was. But...we will never know.

He does however now know that he HAS to STOP when his body tells him to. His legs do not work like they use to.

I am not sure if this is a pattern to what can happen to people, but...might want to think about letting the other greyhound win the race

Good Morning,

Jim woke up today for the first time since suffering his SAH 6 months ago. When he got up he had to lie back down because he was so dizzy. I am a little uneasy since this is the first time it has happened. :?

Has anyone else had these syptoms and do you think they are normal.

Just wondering what it was like for you the first time you had to do something that occured when you suffered your SAH.

Jim is back to work part time and has not done much phyiscally. His boss told him today that he did not care if he continued working part time but wanted him to do some work that required being on a ladder and lifting above his head to pull wires for computers.

His SAH occured when he was on a ladder in the yard trimming a tree. I can see the anxiety in him when he told me he had to do this. I am hoping he will be fine. I am sure that once he does this he will get over his fear of this happening again.

Sometimes I feel we live always not knowing if it will occur again.

Welcome to BTG. I also am the significant other of the person who has suffered an SAH.

My thoughts and prayers are with you both.

Jim was able to come home after 11 days in ICU but it still was and still is a long journey.

It is so hard to take care of yourself at the same time when you are worrying and loving someone so much to see them so ill.

Hi John,

Not quite sure with us if people think Jim is not quite the same after the Sah or if they do not know how to react with him. We went to a Mother's day lunch yesterday and saw many family members we have not seen in some time and they almost were unsure how to greet him when we arrived. By the end of the day things were fine. I hate the idea that people are looked at differently because of the SAH but I believe it might be human nature that people do not know how to react. It does hurt sometimes because it can make the person who has suffered uncomfortable and that is so unnessary.

Cold here today in Boston. Think Spring turned into Fall.

Jim still has pressure in his head almost all the time in the frontal lobe. He says it is not something that he cannot deal with but that it is always there. Just wondering if anyone else has this.

I am so glad you found the site. It truly is a lifeline.

You did not say what type of tests and how many you had. You sound like you are very physical. The most important thing to do is slow down and take it easy.

Jim is only working part time now. A few hours each day. He had to take a day off this week because he still gets very tired easy. He still has pressure in his head but nothing that he cannot handle.

Take time off, your job sounds very hectic. This will not help with your recovery.

Remember YOU are the one that needs to rest and get better.

Andy was kind enough to send me very detailed information on SAH. I do not know if you received anything but Jim did not and was more or less discharged not knowing what to expect. This is one of the many reasons this site has been so helpful. I thank Karen so much for starting this.

Jim had an SAH the same day as you did and was also told it was because they thought it was a blood vessel that bled. I noticed you live in the USA. We do also. Where did you receive your medical attention? We live near Boston and were lucky to have the hospitals that we have.

How many angiograms did they give you to ensure you did not have an anyuersum? Jim had 2.

You are only a few months into recovering and you must take it easy. Jim just went back to work a couple of weeks ago and had to take today off because he is still really tired.

Take is slow, your body is telling you to.

Hope you are feeling better. You have been down so much lately between the flu and now headaches.

I totally agree with all you say regarding post SAH. We also experienced the unknown after and with little help or no help from the Doctors had to find out on our own what to expect and what is "normal".

I totally can understand the frustration with Wikipedia. I just want to let you know that I did not go to that website to find you so with time and energy your site will be found. I do not wish a SAH on anyone but if someone from this site suffered one or had a loved one that did, maybe that would change their opinions.

You and everyone else on this site are so caring and helpful to so many that have suffered a SAH.

Please let us know if there is anyone we can contact to bring the site back to Wikipedia. I love your site and thank God everyday I found all of you.

Thanks for all your responses. Jim has been going to PT and the twitches seem to be better.

They said he was bedridden for so long that his muscles really need to be strengthened again.

Had a question to ask. When Jim sleeps he sometimes has body twitches. These occur mostly in the morning when he is in a deep sleep.

Was wondering if anyone experiences these.

I myself have not suffered a SAH, my husband Jim did so I guess in a way so did I It has been very hard for him and at times also for me but we have a solid relationship and will get through this.

Welcome to the site. This site has been a blessing to Jim and I. Jim also had a non aneurysm SAH on December 1st 2007 and is doing very well.

He did have all the symptoms that you have stated you have so it is normal to feel this way.

Going through this we can understand how you feel.

Jim has not mentioned this to his doctor. After he is up in the morning the swelling goes down.

We have an appointment with the neuro suregon on Monday March 3rd and then will make an appointment with his GP.

Janet, Jim does have more of the leg heaviness when he overdoes things also.

Jim is doing much better. He had his non anyuersum SAH 12 weeks ago Saturday.

His feet are a little swollen in the morning and his legs tire very easy.
