  1. Hi thanks..... after about 3 hours and the stress of it all it was canceled due to my period!!! The doctor came in and said because it was elective and I have a bleeding disorder he didn't feel comfortable taking any chances. It is now rescheduled for July 11th.
  2. My visiting in nurse came out and said it was stress and anxiety.... basically tension headaches from everything yesterday. I had some caffeinated tea and a half of a Klonepin and it's subsiding. She said it was nothing to worry about that it was more stress induced. I feel a lot better after talking to her. My BP was normal and my pulse rate was a little high but she said it was still fine because I was telling her about my worries. She said, as well as the neurologist yesterday that unless it's a thunderclap type head ache like last time or the worst headache of your life then it's tension and stress. My doctor told me yesterday to go live my life and stop stressing. Even though I did not have the angiogram yet he said he's 99% sure it was a small vein that bled and the chances of it happening again are very slim.... a little higher for me because of my bleeding disorder apparently. I feel a lot better now so I'm just going to try to push forward. Thanks for your support!!
  3. So yesterday I was supposed to go for my 3Rd angiogram and went to hospital through all the protocol for almost 3 hours and then the doctor came in. I mentioned I had my period and he said he'd rather postpone since I have a bleeding disorder and it's elective to make sure everything is good since I'm 2 months out from my SAH, no aneurysm or malformations. So we rescheduled and left. From 10am yesterday and all through the night and now waking up I've had a horrible headache! Not a thunderclap headache but definitely a major tension headache that goes to the back of my neck at times. It's the kind of headache where you just have to lay in bed and not do anything. I have an ice cloth on my head and a heating pack on the back of my neck but am a little worried since it won't go away. Tylenol is not touching it at all and I'm taking 1/2 of a Klonepin as well and that doesn't seem to help either. Any advice would be so helpful because I'm freaking out a little! Thanks
  4. Thank you guys! I appreciate the encouragement! 3rd angiogram tomorrow so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
  5. Chris G.... I just went back through the posts and saw your comment on being married for 30 years! Congratulations to you on that! I almost made it to 15 but divorced and met someone fabulous so I have had a second chance on life and it has been amazing! Then this set back happened. Taking it day by day but your comment was hilarious!!!
  6. Thank you!!! I'm so glad everyone is so positive here. I made the mistake of googling stories while I was in the hospital and it really did me in!! I stay away from anything negative now. This site has been amazing because everyone can identify with each other in one form or another. It makes me feel so much better about my situation and I feel like I get so much more information than I would from any other avenue. Even the doctors are very cautious on what they say. Here people have been survivors for years and can speak about it and tell you some symptoms they may still have and that you're not crazy! I really do appreciate all the support of each and every one of you beautiful people so thank you from the bottom of my heart!
  7. Hi Chris..... I've heard that as well but it's still hard to wrap my brain around it. I guess time will heal. Thank you for responding!
  8. Makes perfect sense Skippy. Reading through different threads and posts I definitely see a difference in what people's doctors say their recovery time is so I thought I'd ask about other things as well. I guess we've all been through trauma so the idea of it happening again is so scary. I know chances are slim but it's still there just like the chance to get it in the first place. Thanks for your response. I appreciate it.
  9. Thank you very Much Paul99. I live in the US in the state of Connecticut. Thank you for your help and support! I appreciate it.
  10. 1. Running intervals at the gym and felt a pop in the back of my neck/head area. Also, vaguely remember the flow of blood. Told my boyfriend my neck hurt but held it and ran for 20 more seconds and got off the treadmill to get cleaner and wipes. Told my BF something is wrong with my neck to call my mom, I need to go to the hospital. 2. Thunderclap headache was the worst pain of my life. I thought my neck broke. 3. Had to pull over and call for ambulance. EMT said right away I'm treating you for an aneurysm. 4. Then the vomiting started constantly while they did 2 CAT scans which originally showed 3 mm aneurysm but angiogram the next morning said no aneurysms or malformations that it was just a vein that was looped. Don't think that's the one that bled though. They really still don't know. 5. After a few days blood and fluid went into my back/spinal cord and that spasmed out of control for weeks. 6. 12 days total in hospital, 5 in ICU, 5 in intermediate and 2 regular. 2 angiograms with a 3rd this week to follow up. Numerous CAT scans....maybe 3 or 4 total, an MRI on my back and an ultrasound/Doppler type test on my head to check for vasospasms. 7, I was on the standard blood pressure med and salt tabs for a month from the start and pain meds a total of 18 days from the start. I have visiting nurses and physical therapy. Now I take Tylenol and anxiety meds. 8. I'm 42 and live with my 2 boys and I'm so grateful everyday to be alive and to have had the support that I've had. We've lived with my parents for almost 2 months now so they can take care of us and after my angiogram this week I hope to be able to move back home. I pray to God I never have to go through anything like this again and I'll pray for all of you as well. I appreciate that I have found this site so much and it feels really good to be able to read stories of people who actually can relate to me. So thank you for sharing!
  11. Thank you so much for your responses. Although I do not wish what I went through on anyone it is nice to know that people here have been through it and can identify. My neurologist told me to not strain in any way in the bathroom. He said there's a vein that is connected. He said nothing strenuous at all until after this angiogram and then I'm sure I'll get the all clear if everything looks good. I have to baby step with everything because I still have the headaches, fatigue, feeling dizzy and off, nauseous and have super sensitive senses especially hearing still, etc, etc, etc. I also am battling anxiety because it came on so suddenly and was so painful and traumatic but I am not stranger to fighting that demon and feel like I have a pretty good hold on it. I'm interested in what your doctors are telling you as opposed to what mine says. What did they say the recovery time was for you? Mine said 6-8 weeks before I even start to feel normal. What did they say about driving? Mine said I can drive but I have a very hard time and have only gone on back roads. What do they say about the percentage of it happening again to you? Mine said I have a 3% chance of it happening because it's already happened once which was a 1% chance to begin with. What did they say the reasoning is for you? Mine said inflammation could have played a part because I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and they said my bleeding disorder could have also had a hand in it, which is a platelet aggregate disorder. Apparently my platelets don't want to work correctly to clot properly. Thank you again to anyone that responds. I appreciate so much!
  12. Hi there, I feel so fortunate to have found this group online. It makes me feel human again as I can relate to everything that is being said. I am 2 months out of a brain bleed that happened for no rhyme or reason while running on a treadmill at the gym. I've worked out my whole life so it was nothing strenuous to me. I spent 5 days in ICU and 7 additional days with all the same symptoms I'm reading, obviously headaches and major back spasms. I had 2 angiograms in the hospital a week apart to check for aneurysms or malformations which came back negative and will be going for a 3rd angiogram on Thursday to make sure since they are unclear why the bleed happened. They are leaning towards a small vein that bled but are not sure if a tiny aneurysm burst. 2 things I'm wondering...... have you all had angiograms and this is very private but I read that sex and orgasm is the leading cause of these things. Has anyone read this as well and have any input. I still so scared to do anything at this point and I'm reading people are back at the gym 2 months out. Thanks you so much for your help, support and input. I appreciate it so much!
