  1. Hi Hadyn

Welcome to the site, I use to exercise before the SAH, it was part of my diet regime but after the SAH I get too tired to do anything, the only exercise I do is with my physiotherapist and it feels safe to that for me.

Hope to hear more from you when you are ready.

  2. Hi Anne

I had my SAH in March 2008 and I still suffer from fatigue, I don't think I can remember the time when I was normal to be honest.

I did however go the my GP who sent me for a blood test and as it turned out I had type 2 diabetes.

I think that it's a legacy from the SAH with the fatigue with some of us and it can be really hard.

Let us know how you get on and take care.

  3. Hi Laura

I can't help you with the coil information but I am sending you big hugs, I know it can be hard but you are so strong.

I had a hysterectomy when I was 30, I had no choice but to have it done. I think I put on more weight after that but that but at least I don't have the problems I had before.

Get the advice you need to make an informed decision and I hope it all works out well for you.

    Take care.

  4. Hi John

I hope you continue to make further recovery, the last six months have been life changing for you I am sure. The road to recovery after a SAH is really difficult with many ups and downs as I have found in my case.

Your positive way will bring you even further and I hope you continue to make positive changes into your life and enjoy your surroundings with your loved ones.

    Take care.

  5. Saffy sorry to hear that you had to go through all this, it's not acceptable at all and more so for we go through weeks of anxiety just about the operation.

I am also dreading the possible of coiling to be done, hopefully in the next few months and if I get the ok but I think it will be really hard for me to go through all what you went through.

Now you need to rest and have time to recover.

  6. Hi Karen

To be honest I never was told what I really had, maybe I was but I cannot remember, like John there is a need to know. My hospital did not even tell me exactly what I had I read the information on the discharge form the rest I had to learn from the web and from this site.

I did not know that a SAH was a stroke I always thought what has that to do with an aneurysm rupture, off course now I have learnt a fair amount on SAH and I feel we are misunderstood by others when we say we had a brain haemorrhage which is a like a stroke and trying to explain the differences is too tiring for me.

A lady that lives just next door had a TIA recently, she is about 54 years old I was happy to see her back to her old self again but she had a hard time wondering why my stroke is different to hers and why am I left with disabilities and not her. I told her about this website, well I showed it to her, she's not computer literate and now has a better understanding.

Sorry if my post does not make much sense, I am too tired but hope this helps Karen.

  7. Welcome to BTG Blueday

I had my SAH in 2 years ago and I also developed speech problems and more so when I get tired, it's frustrating. I was referred to the hospital for that I they feel that it was triggered by the SAH.

The Wellcome Trust sounds interesting, I think it will be very useful to find out more about the condition.

Take care and hope you keep well.

  8. Hi Lynz

You just described exactly how I feel every day, I guess the worst for me is the balance problems and my speech which becomes slurred when I am tired.

I hate taking address or telephone numbers over the phone because it takes a bit of time to register in my head so I make them say it so slowly.

I don't mind travelling but I do worry about meeting people who are not aware of our problems.

    Take care

  9. Hi Jen a warm welcome to BTG site,

I ready your story too, I am glad that you are making a steady progress after SAH, you will find the road to recovery is different for everyone with lots of ups and downs.

I don't live too far from you, I live in the Mill Hill area, borders of Borehamwood.

Hope to hear from you again when you are ready.
