  1. Thanks for the welcome- I am so glad i found this site otherwise i may have gone bonkers (mind you there is still time) I had my sah on 8th May this year so just 6wks ago- when i first came on i felt like i was intruding because everyone seems to know everyone but I'm sticking around anyway and im sure in time i'll start to figure out whose who and I'm looking forward to that . Thank you Lesley xx
  2. Morning Win. I really hope you feel better today and everything checks out fine. Like sarahg said your replies and post are always uplifting and put a smile on our faces so if you want to rant and scream and shout go ahead Good luck xxxx
  3. Hi hollyellen- I agree with desy You Are Alive so work from there- scream shout even throw things to get the frustratiin out then sit in the fresh air take deep breaths then I'm sure you will come up with the good things about yourself- whats happened is god damn I know, since first posting this i have discovered im more argumentative which is driving me nuts, i have a voice in my head saying shut up shut up but for some reason i just keep going grrrrrrrrr I hope your just having a/bad day and feel better later xxxx
  4. Hahaha daffodil I have been calling myself Phil since my hair cut- my hair has been long and straight for about 10 years and i had been thinking of getting a new style NOT in a million years did i think id be going back to the 80's
  5. Hi Lousie and Daffodil. Thank you, the enormity of what has happened is starting to hit me and I'm realizing things are going to change daily so i am going to try and just get on best i can and see what happens- I'll need to just make the best of however i turn out - fingers crossed its not to bad .
  6. I did panick when they said possibility of stroke- i actually starting laughing and said if yoiu l:et me have a stroke after surviving my bleed I'll hunt you down hahahaha obviously i was nervous and trying to joke about the situation but i was shaking within it was awful- i suppose if they thought it was best for me to have another then i would but heres hoping I'm finished with them
  7. Hi. I had my sah followed by a craneiotomy and clipping on 8th may which was just 5 wks ago so im very new to this. Mine was just a grade 1 bleed which obviously is still horrific but not as bad as others- i still went unconscious and woke up paralyzed etc BUT I seem to be back to my normal self now. Obviously i have things like horrendous tiredness, cry all the time, sore heads etc but apart from that i think im my usual self. Im just wondering AM i my normal self or will it take a long time until i find out for sure? I know we are all different but i am interested in finding out other peoples experiences just to give me some insight into what to expect Thanks lesley xx
  8. Thank you David for starting this post and thank you for all who have replied. This is why i joined a forum to get info like this- its fabulous because although everyone is different at least now if it happens i can say well its happened to lots of people not just me so its 'normal' and that i think will help I had my sah on 8th of may so a few weeks till my 2month mark Thanks lesley
  9. Did you find it painful too? Ive not been given any info about follow ups or anything since leaving hospital but fingers crossed they are happy with first angiogram so wont be needing another
  10. Bagpuss thank you that makes me feel better- i know your not 100% sure but still makes me feel better knowing someone has only had the one angiogram . Dont get me wrong if i needed another one then so be it- better to have 5 mins pain to make sure your ok i suppose - but i would rather not go through it again if possible Thanjs lesley
  11. Hi. I know everyone is different but i was just wondering about angiograms do you always have more than one after an sah or does that depend on the individual too? I had one whike still in hospital, I found it horrendous like they where stabbing my head and particularly my right eye with small firey daggers and im hoping not to go through it again The one i had shoeed the clipping was ok and i didnt have anything else wrong so do you think thats me finished? I got out hospital 2 wks ago and have no appointments set up- strange how they just turf you out after sunch a harrowing operation Hope everyone is feeling a little better today Thanks Lesley
  12. Thanks Penny- does that mean they found the sah before they had a bleed?
  13. Hi. Can anyone tell me where i can find the meanings of the abbreviations please I had a SAH so i know that one- however i have no idea about any of the others nasah etc and i would like to learn - on my hospital notes it also says something about msaa and ive no idea what that means hahahaha. If someone can let me kniw where to find means that would be great Thank You Lesley
  14. Thank you for replying everyone - i now have a smile on my face. I will make sure i have a 500ml bottle next to me at all times that would be a start. I do feel thirsty more often and funnily enough my head is always sore when i wake in the morning so this could be because im not drinking through the night : Before my sah i liked/loved a glass of wine with dinner and at weekends quite a few- would this count as some of my liquid intake do you think hahaha. Sadly since my sah ive not even felt like a glass (which isnt a bad thing) but i am hoping the feeling comes back at some point Thanks again I'm off to get my water now Lesley xxx
  15. Michelle thanks for that- its good to know that in time the event should hopefully take a back seat . I found the site early on because NO support from hospital after i was discharged- not even a leaflet (they were fabulous when i was in i have to say) i just thought there must surely be something so typed into the computer and found a few forums and this one looked great it has helped me already thank god- i might have gone bonkers otherwise and its only been 4 wks hahahah Thanks lesley xx
  16. Hi everyone Do you all drink 3litres of water a day? I have been told i should but its such a lot- any tips on how to drink so much and do you feel it makes a difference? Thank you lesley xx
  17. Hi doodles. I had mine clipped 4 wks ago tomorrow so its all very new to me too- mine is on the right side and i now have a haircut like phil okey from the 80 s haha. My scar has healed pretty well but is really itchy- the area feels really numb which i hate- my eyebrow is fine but it feels like i have a lump at the hairline which is quite sore- oh and my jaw gets really sore when i chew or yawn omg sooo sore i do hope that goes back to normal Do you ever feel like your talking about someone else? Im still in shock that i had an sah i wonder if that feeling ever goes Soooo glad i found this site because like so many others i was given no info when leaving hospital Lesley xx
  18. Hi daffodil. I am finding it hard just sitting back and letting people do things but I am forcing myself because i know i will recover quicker (well hopefully) if i rest- its not in my nature to let people do things for me, usually im very much 'i can cope on my own thank you' My girls are ok I think- julie is almost 6 and doesnt really know whats going on but she does know I'm not well and she helps me with my medicine and stuff and does ask when will you be better. Molly is 12 and i chat with her all the time about it because she was the one who off her own back phoned an ambulance, poor girl must have been scared stiff but thank god she did. She talks about it and tells me thinks that happened so i think she is ok, she does worry though, she is always telling me to lie down and she gets bit panicky when i say i have a sore head. Hope your feeling ok today Lesley xx
  19. Hi. Did you have your sah 8th may this year? So did i. I was just minding my own business doing my teeth 7.30am next thing my life has changed grrrrrrrr. You sound impatient, just like me- i cant stand the fact that i get exhausted and need to lie down after something simple like getting washed hahaha its driving me nuts- as is the crying all the time. I have 2 kids which is a hanful, was great fun before my sah but now the chit chat starts to irrate my brain although i try my best not to let them know that. This site i think is going to be great help - we have to remember its onky been 4wks and unfortunately its gonna be months and months before we ee get back to'normal'. Heres hoping it flies by Hope your feeling better today Lelsey
  20. Thanks everyone for speaking to me I know mine has happened very recently and i have a long way to go but i already think this forum will help me. I actually feel very lucky because I'm ALIVE and that im sure is because i have 2 kids- i will fight on and hopefully get back to my normal self one day - meanwhile i'm having a cry as i type hahahaha this is nuts
  21. Hi Mick- i just joined the site too, i had my SAH 3.5wks ago, shame we have to meet in these circumstances but fabulous that we have found this site so early on- like you I didnt know about sah until it happened to me, - my hospital treatment was faultless however when i was discharged i was just handed my medication no leaflets on what to expect or anything so Ive been scared stiff everytime i get a niggle in my head thinking its gonna happen again or my clip is gonna pop off (irrational i know) Pleased to meet you- heres hoping our recovery is made easier now we have people to talk to
  22. Hi everyone- my name is Lesley, I will be 46 in a few weeks Im married and have two beautiful girls age 6 and 12. Unfortunately 3.5wks ago I had a SAH while doing my teeth getting myself and kids ready for work/school. I had a very strange sensation in my head then the next thing i woke up on the bathroom floor and couldnt stand up as my legs were paralyzed from the knee down- i called on my eldest daughter and asked her to call her gran who just lives a few doors away. She did this and then thankfully for me decided to call an ambulance because she said i was acting very strangely. Anyway thank god she did- I had an operation the following day, they clipped mine and im glad to say everything else seems to be ok now. I got home 1.5wks ago and have been very frightened, anxious, cry all the time etc etc so I am thrilled to have found this site as reading some of the stories has helped because i ñow know these things im feeling are normal. I have a hell of a long way to go and im hoping you will all help me through Thank you in advance
