  1. Hi, over the last few days the back of my neck has been painful and my head feels heavy. Can't seem to get comfy. Got my 3 month check up with neuro nurse 2morrow but wondered if anyone else had experienced this.
  2. Hi Sam, I'm new on here as well but I took the plunge straight away and posted. I have had a lot of questions answered on here by scrolling thru the topics. It has been invaluable and saved me hours of torment wondering whether it was normal or something serious. I think I would have been a fixture in my docs waiting room without all these wonderful people sharing there experience. Keep positive and I'll be thinking of you x
  3. Hi Sonia, I'm really new to this so have taken a lot of comfort in reading how others have been affected and how they have coped. I look forward to reading of your experience.
  4. Hi, thanks for your input. I didn't drink a lot but enjoyed the occasional brandy. I was gutted last week as I tried one but it was disgusting. However, although my taste is not right I have found a few things that are not tasting as bad. you are right about the curry - had one the other night which I would never have tried pre SAH. Going to Turkey end of this month so am hoping to find something to eat and drinik while I'm away.
  5. Hi Alan, I feel for you alan, but you sound like you are a brilliant support for your wife and children. I only had mine 7 weeks ago and only suffer with double vision and dizzy spells which hopefully will improve in time but 3 years ago at 78 my mum suffered an SAH. She was in re-hab for 3 months and we did think that she was not going to be able to look after herself again. How wrong were we! She lives in her own flat in sheltered accomodation and helps to run the social club there and when I had my SAH was in to visit me nearly every day. I have seen SAH from both sides now so can empathise with both of you and although I'm new to this I'm here if you need to talk. Jan
  6. Anne, you are the 1st person to mention the taste and smell of sewage. They all think I'm crazy here cause every time I go outdoors I can smell sewage. I even had my hubby digging up the lawn cause I thought something was decomposing underneath it. (He only dug up a bit - just to humour me). I've introduced new foods and although I haven't found anything tasty, I'm taking your advice and just eating the most palatable things to keep me going as I have lost so much weight. I'm now down to a size 8 - never thought I would see that again. I've started to drink coffee instead of tea and am having an aloe based milk shake every morning to give me the nutrition I need.
  7. thanks penny, it's a relief to know that it does get better.
  8. Hi, My SAH was on 14th June 2010 and I have found this site brilliant. As already stated you get very little info from the hospital. My questions on double vision, vertigo and tiredness have all been answered by the members but I cannot find anything on change in taste buds. May not sound important but it is really affecting me as I am trying to build myself back up but everything tastes disgusting - even water. I'm hoping you will all tell me that it is temporary and I'll be eating normally in a few months. Janevo:shocked:
