  1. Hi Gary ,great you've found the group ,I don't always comment but read the posts everyday ,it's been a great help to me ,there are some lovely people on here that make you feel that you're not on your own ,I'm old school ,my original bleed was 15 years ago but still need support due to new ones I've now got ,take your time my friend x

  3. Hi lovey ive recently had a second aneursym coiled before IT ruptured after a huge rupture 14 years ago ,the doctors made me drink lots of water to wash the drugs through my system after having anesthetic etc ,water is also good for the healing process ,I also peed excessively whilst in hospital ,it also helps after having a catheter removed after an operation. I also had to take a water sample to each appointment ,I'm struggling and feeling a little panicy about if I'm going to live to see my children have children and get married which I never experienced the first time I had the operation so think what you're experiencing is totally normal ,hope this helps ,keep well jane x

  7. Thanks lovey ,I just take every day as it is and will cross that bridge if I need to ,hopefully I won't need another operation but looking more likely ,I do trust my surgeon so feel safe in his hands so what will be will be ,thanks for thinking of me and here if you need a chat xxxx
  8. Hi ,welcome to the group and keep smiling ,I had my bleed 14 years ago at the age of 29 and can confirm that there is a life ahead of you to look forward to ,being young you'll get over the effects quicker and you'll be back to doing the things you once did before you know it. I've just had another procedure on an unruptured aneurysm and didnt bounce back quite as quick as I did 14 years ago ,I too returned to work quickly trying to get what I thought normality back in my life ,please take care and rest where you can at any available time ,all the best ,jane xxx
  9. Hi Debbie ,welcome ,please don't worry ,I had a bleed 14 years ago and was coiled but only a month ago had a second aneurysm coiled and stented after they found a 6mm one on my brain stem ,the procedure was fine and I was out of hospital in two days. They've now found two more 7 and 10 mm which are being monitored as they are in the carotid artery and difficult to operate on ,hopefully they won't cause death if bleed and will be scanned again in two years. It's easy to say but try and remain calm and things will be ok ,please shout up if need any advice as I've literally just gone through the experience ,all the best xxxx
  10. Thankyou ,ive still not started taking them as the news is certainly mixed on the side effects ,I'm managing with my diet at the moment so hopefully won't need them ,I will e mail the main Man im sure he will know the best thing to do and my normal doctor is back of holiday on the 30 th so not long to wait now ,thanks againxxxxx
  11. Thanks to you both ,it's my doctor that's put me on the lansaprazole today but think I will check with my surgeon by e mail before I take it ,it's typical tiday by watching my diet ive had no heartburn so will see if I can manage by diet alone first ,once again Thankyou xxxx
  12. Can I ask has anyone else been given aspirin for life and copydogrel for 3 months after having a stent fitted ,I'm suffering heartburn and theyve prescribed me a drug that on the Internet says stops the absorption of copydogrel ,I'm scared to take it ,any advice please xxx
  13. Welcome Lovey ,it's very early days for you ,I had a sah 14 years ago when I was left partially sighted ,the fatigue lasted about six weeks but during that time you will start to feel better ,I had another unruptured aneurysm coiled two weeks ago and am feeling tired from that also. I now have two remaining ones 7mm and 10 mm which are being monitored ,please rest and relax and know that you will get better ,previous to my last operation I worked four days a week in our family business ,ran a large house with hubby ,two teenagers and two dogs and felt totally normal ,much love and thinking of you xxxx
  14. Thanks everyone ,the drive went just perfect ,tired now so having a sit down now ,dvla said complete b1 but continue driving in mean time and can't see that my licence will be withdrawn so happy days ,my surgeon and doctor back me 100 % so that's always helpful ,thanks again xxx
  15. Thanks everyone for your kind words ,I'm so much better thanks and all symptons have now cleared ,I'm even going for a drive today as I've been allowed to keep my licence ,covered in bruises from the blood thinners but two and a half weeks on I'm feeling fab ,thanks again xxxx
  16. Thanks everyone ,home now as speech ok but still terrible vertigo ,hopefully this will be ok soon and be back to normal ,it's a horrible feeling but I'm alive xx
  17. Just laying on the ward ,after my operstion it turned out I needed a stent fitting ,unfortunately I then experienced a small stroke resulting in loss of speech and unsteady on feet ,these are now thankfully improving so hopefully home later ,my other two aneurysms at the front haven't grown since November so re scanning in two years xx
  18. Thanks everyone your replies have made me smile ,I will certainly post ASAP to let you know how things go xxx
  19. Hi all ,just a quick check in as it's the week of my first surgery ,going in Wednesday to have one of the three remaining unruptured aneurysms coiled ,this one is in the worst place ever if ruptures but best place for surgery so feeling pretty confident. They are going to do an angiogram on my two other unruptured ones whilst in there to see if they have grown from ten and seven mil upwards ,please pray for me and I will post all being well at the end of the week ,only a short stay in hospital ,different to the six weeks when I had my bleed 14 years ago ,love to all Jane xx
  20. Hi nick ,I see you're from derby ,me too ,welcome to the group ,I've only joined a few days ago after receiving terrible news about my aneurysm and three new ones I've developed ,I'm old school having had original bleed 14 years ago ,all I can say is the welcome I've received here has been great and the forums are very helpful ,I'm hoping to get some good advice from fellow members ,all the best ,jane
  21. Thankyou so much for your warm welcomes ,I'm just about to start the blood thinners this coming week after receiving another letter getting things moving from the hospital ,I will keep you all posted as I get my date for surgery ,I'm very fortunate that nottingham have a fantastic reputation for neurosurgery ,thanks again xxx
  22. Thankyou for your kind replies ,I've asked the surgeon how the blood thinners taken prior to my op and how the op itself may effect my other aneurysms but he said they will be ok ,since I've left the meeting there are lots more questions ive thought of but I'm going to ring and speak to somebody in the next few days . My main worry is the size of the two remaining ones ,the surgeon said above 12 mm is classed as large but they feel rather large to me. I'm suddenly getting headaches on that side but have to admit think I'm probably bringing them on with the stress as they didn't appear till after I found out about the aneursyms ,the op in three weeks will be coiling ,the 7 mm one at the front if starts to bleed will be coiled but the 10mm needs a stent ,the surgeon said there is a risk with a stent moving therefore they will only operate if the aneursyms have grown in another six months at the scan. I suppose I'm lucky that if they bled I may be blind but hopefully alive ,thanks again ,it's good to talk x
  23. I went on holiday in the May following my bleed in feb ,I go on the Martin lewis website and follow the link for holiday insurance for people with medical problems ,I use orbis and they always find me insurance at a good price ,even with new untreated aneursyms ,good luck
  24. Hi I am new to the group ,my name is jane and I had a huge bleed 14 years ago ,my aneursym measured 18mm and was coiled successfully .At that time I was told I had a small aneursym behind my other eye measuring 3 mm, after suffering severe headpain before xmas I had a mri scan which showed my small existing aneursym was now measuring 10 mm which was next to another at 7 mm and then a third in my central artery measuring 6 mm . The third is being coiled in three weeks time due to location but as my others are apparently sight threatening against life threatening at present the surgeon is suggesting monitoring these six monthly as the location requires a stent which is supposedly more risky than leaving at present . Unfortunately when I had my bleed 14 years ago I lost sight in one eye already and one of my arteries was blocked completely leaving me with two arteries therefore causing the complications ,I'm 43 years old and struggling to come to terms with this news ,I'm not worried about the operation as know this is low risk but don't know how to live with these two remaining ones ,please help x
