  1. hi Zoe, i have just been reading back onthe last few days of Richards recovery and wow hes coming on great from the last week or so. it brings tears to my eyes to read how well he is doing and how much happier and relieved you are becoming.keep up your strength and remember this s early days lots of improving still to go but hes obviously a fighter and determined to win back his health. Thinking of you both, best wishes Caz x
  2. thanks to you all, it was an emotional day for me re thinking of what hapened but also how far everything has progressed. No more check ups for 2 yrs now. they are then doing another angio just to check on my annie that has opened a little more lately. so heres to two yrs of fun!!!! love cazx
  3. Hi all, just wanted to tell everyone my happy news. Its 2 years today since i had my annie and all is well. Its been a long two years but i have learned a lot about myself. everyone here is wonderful and i want to say thank you to each and every one of you. Love to all caz xx
  4. Hi angela welcome to you and your partner. as everyone has said before it is like a family on here that understands the problems, joys and acheivements only too well. Time and patience will win. Its my 2 year annie-versary today and i feel elated but emotional.thanks to surgeons all is going well Take care both of you best wishes caz x
  5. Hi Zoe, Sorry to hear Richard is still not too well. Stay positive as like the others have said it takes time. Keep talking to him and ask others to do so too. I remember that is what kept me going after my sah. Every time i heard my sons speak i knew i had to keep alive for them and it gave me the drive to live. I dont know how old your son is but maybe he could record a few words for dad too. The only other thing i can say is that being unconcious or semi concious is very peaceful you feel floaty and as if you are in a warm bed so richard will not be in pain. Keep up your own strength as you will need it later take care and god bless you both zoe best wishes caz x
  6. hi melbury sorry to hear hubby is having problems. I too have had dizzy spells since sah and have tablets to try and help with this so worth talking to gp about it. i also have regurgitation and reflux which they think was caused by pain killers that i had post craniotomy and coiling. i dont know if this is the same for hubby bvut diet can help a bit if it is the same. best wishes to you caz x
  7. Hi Zoe, i am so sorry to hear your news it must have been so frightening for you. All i can say is it is very early days and from experience you have to go along with the surgeons advice and just let them do their job. brain surgery has come on a long way and i am sure everything possible is being done to help the brain recover. lots of people are either kept sedated or are unconcious for a fair while to allow the brain to adapt to the changes. keep us informed and if you need to talk to someone i and many others are here for you please let us know. take care god bless you both caz x

Hi, i can only agree with what the others have said. I think you try to put a brave face on things but inside it is a huge shock when you have a bleed and it takes a long time toi come to terms with it. two years ago this month and i still get bad days and panic sets in. i see the neuro psychologist at the hospital regularly and she is great. the surgeon set it up for me so maybe this would help your hubby, i wish you both well and i am sure in time he will open up. best wishes to you both caz
  9. thanks to you all for your good wishes. I have got so much strength from you all and i can only say thank you for that xx as for the yoga, i am back doing some yoga as i used to enjoy it before haemmorage. I am just waiting to hear from hospital whether or not i can go for hydrotherapy as the physios seem to think it will be good to strengthn up my back and neck muscles which have been affected and also get some stamina back so fingers crossed.I have a couple of days off this week and am enjoying relaxing and being on the pc to you all again. take care everyone god bless caz x
  10. hi all, sorry haven't been in for a while. too tired after work but wanted to let you know i had good news this week. went for a angiogram last week to check on clipped and coiled annies and clipped one perfect and coiled has a moved a bit but nothing too much so i havent got to have another angio until march 2012!! gives me time now to get my strength built up and improve my fitness in case of next round with 2nd annie but fingers crossed it wont move any more. i was so pleased and hope you can share this with me. i also hope this gives some encouragement to those just starting on their journey. it can be a long process but have faith and go with it as it is worth every minute. i still get very tired and dizzy but am back to work 3 hrs a day and manage to do a lot of things now. you just have to know when to stop and rest. I think and pray for all of you often and hope you are all well or at least having all the help you need. god bless take care love caz x
  11. thanks keith. i found a bit online about it yesterday and it seems very similar to an ordinary angio. (if ive got it right to !!) also spoke to angio secretary today and she said all was looking ok and not to worry too much. they seem to think this is just a precaution and thats why surgeon wants to see me again to decide on whether or not to go ahead with dsa or leave alone for a year which would be fabulous. thanks for replying keith take care and best wishes carol
  12. Hi all, I have had terrible pins and needles and cramps but was caused by statin(simvastatin) so if any of you are on this maybe you could ask dr for a change but please dont go without before discussing with gp first. This is my proffesional head working here !!! lol take care all love carol x
  13. Hi all hope everyone is ok x I was wondering if anyone has had a D.S.A? I have been waiting for results of a M.R.A scan since 21st dec and had a letter sat saying my sugeon wanted tosee me again which worried me so much as he said he did not want to see me again unless i needed more surgery. I phoned hospital this morning and spoke to his P.A who is treasure. she told me he wants to see me about a D.S.A as the the clip he put inside my head in may has left a blind spot on te scan and so they cant give a 100% result. this has made me more relieved than another craniotomy but would like to know more about it fromanyone who has had one. thank you all take care carol x
  14. Hi Sarah, Welcome to you, i too had been told i had a bad headache or migraine even though the pain was so intense, my speach was slurred, right side pretty useless and no sight. My sone and hubby had to get me into a car and to the hospital so i can understand how frightened you must have been. I send you my best wishes and hope to hear from you again soon carol x
