  1. I started this thread a long time ago!!! But just wanted to update in case anyone else getting tingling. After repeated visits to the Drs and being given anti-histamines cos they thought the tingling was due to an allergy, one of the Drs (in fact the one who I saw when i had the SAH, ordered bloods and i am B12 deficient - pernicious anemia. It has lots of the symptoms of post SAH as well - tiredness but can't sleep, headaches, total lack of energy etc... but also tingling!! The tingling is(I believe) causing nerve damage. Just thought i'd put it out there, if anyone else is still getting it, might be worth getting it checked with your Dr. Of course i am no medical person - just its not a routine test. After the initial 6 injections, I now have an injection every 3 months for life. I feel so much better now!!
  2. Had just dropped my daughter at her classroom door, then ow!!! Not ill before, or no stress at the time....Just popped
  3. Thankyou all - as always feel much better after being on here , you're all amazing. Xx
  4. Hi all, just wondered if any of you have had tingling in face, lips tongue? Have had it a couple if times recently. Been to Drs who checked ne over. Nothing to do with sah, but panicking a bit cos had a bad headache last night and sporadic brain pain today. Would be grateful for any advice Juliette x 14 months post sah
  5. Yesterday was my 1st annie-versary and although i was very stressed approaching it, the day passed with no drama!! For me the day was going to be a deja vu with child drop offs and my eldest going to a panto. But i took the advice of Sami and "took the bull by the horns" and did the school drop off on my own - so happy i did Husband offered to come with me, but i decided i didn't want my bad memory of the previous year to dominate and become an obsession every other year. Once i'd dropped her off and left the school i felt a huge relief, it is just another day.... Spent the day having hair done then down the gym and pool with a friend - probably the wrong order since my hair looked like a rag afterwards but i felt good! And the best thing was i got to pick my daughter up off the bus after the panto this year. To anyone out there coming up to their annie-versary i'd do what was suggested to me and don't let the fear and anxiety of the day take over you. It's only once a year, so it's a long time till you can face it head on again (for want of better expression!!) Thank you to all who give advice on here, you are GREAT xxx Off skiing for the holidays on Monday - all excited!! Merry Christmas to all, hope your dreams and wishes come true Juliette xxx
  6. Thanks everyone, have just come back from the Drs and she checked me over and reassured me that everything is fine and no doubt a product of doingtoo much and not enough sleep! Kel thats exactly how my breathing feels - maybe its an incoming cold... Maybe for you its the redecorating, maybe you're reacting to the products they are using?? Am definitely going to rest up today - just crafts withthe kids instead of running around the park!! Thanks again, this place is a God send Take care Juliette xx
  7. Thanks SarahLou, already you have put my mind at rest. I know its silly to worry its going to happen again especially since my last scan was clear, but i do. Its good to know its not just me that feels like this. Have an appt with the Dr later to check everything ok. Thanks again, hope you're feeling well:-D Juliette xx
  8. Hi all, I'm now 10 months post SAH (coiled no other annies on last scan) and have been feeling great. But this week i haven't been feeling quite right - maybe over done it and not enough sleep. What do you think?? The background!! - was my birthday nearly 2 weeks ago so prob had one too many wines celebrating Then last Sunday i spent 6 hrs gardening followed by 4 nights of not very good sleep due to children - 1 poorly (not contagious!), the other just waking in the night. I am tired, but also feeling a bit sick, dizzy, fuzzy head and every now and then a feeling like not getting enough air in my lungs. Think i'm just exhausted with maybe a bit of cold coming on. What do you think? Does anyone else get these sort of symptoms when over done it and tired??? Juliette xx
  9. Hi Lynette, Welcome to BTG . By bloodshot, do you mean the white of your eye is a bit red like when you're tired or spots of blood on the white? After surgery i had a line of blood on the white of my eye, but i suffered optic nerve damage during the procedure. If i get too tired I do sometimes get red/bloodshot eyes, but i think i was like that pre SAH. I agree with others, if you're worried speak to a neuro nurse or go to your Drs, they are there to help & will put your mind at rest. Take care, Juliette xx
  10. Hello Mollynjosie, What a horrible position to be in . I agree with everyone else, you need to have a sit down meeting with the consultant neurologist so he/she can explain better why they want to look at your brain this way, especially with so much trouble last time. What makes him think it won't happen again?? Why can't they look some other way? I'm no medical expert, but I had an MRA at my 6 month check - not 100% sure how it works, but was told by the radiographer that they excite your vessels using different frequencies so can see whats going on. The stiller you stay, the clearer the picture is. If they need to see whats going on i would definitely ask how else they can do it without risking your life. Don't be rushed into your decision. Thinking of you, take care, Juliette xx
  11. Hi Ryan, Welcome to BTG! Ditto to what everyone else has said, there always seems to be someone to answer your questions. It takes a long time to heal from this. I'm 9 months post SAH now and can pretty much do everything as before - still don't like high pitched noises and have the odd tired day, but things do get better. Drinking plenty does help lots with the headaches - i definitely noticed when i didn't have enough. Bit of fresh air helped me as well. Listen to your body and you will feel better, just takes time. Hope you're having a good day, take care Juliette xx
  12. Thank you all for your replies - think the letter has just triggered craziness! I'm going to try and think of it as another day - might not work but i will try. Been chatting to hubby and think he will help with the drop offs - once i've got out of the school i'm hoping all will be calm!!! Might sound terrible, but i'm glad some others felt the same way i do - means i've not totally lost the plot...yet!! Thanks again, good to talk Juliette xx
  13. Hi all, Still have 3 months to go till the 1st anniversary of my SAH and i'mstarting to panic!! Silly i know, but was triggered by a letter from school saying about my daughters panto trip this year. Last year i dropped off my youngest to nursery, then my eldest to school - she was very excited about her trip to the panto. straight after dropping her off is when i had the SAH - the date december 15th. The date of her panto this year, december 15th! Feeling a bit panicked about de ja vu since will be dropping off yongest at nursery as last year. Did anyone else panic this far in advance? Up until now i've been really positive, but starting to worry the teensiest bit:crazy: Thinking to have someone with me for day to try and make something different!! Did anyone else try to make their 1st anniversary slightly different?? Thank you, Juliette xx
  14. Thats horrendous treatment. They must realise how worried you already are about getting your results, without cancelling your appt the day before! Then making you wait that long - it is unacceptable and i agree you need to complain. The consultants have many people working for them, and i'm sure at least one would be capable of meeting with you and discussing the results. It does seem strange that the meetings take place same time think a new appointment organiser required!! Hope it all gets sorted out soon. Juliette xx
  15. Thank you all for your replies. My annie was just on the vessel that continues on from the carotid artery. I still haven't been ableto get hold of the neuro people, but will try again. Not feeling well at all - definitely knocked me for 6 on the energy levels. And of course the constant morning (all day!) sickness not helping at all. Don't remember it being this bad with my 2 girls, but might have blocked all the bad its out! Thanks again Juliette xx
  16. Hi all, I'm 8 months post SAH and have recently discovered that i am pregnant - totally unplanned. Not sure what to do yet Have been unable to get hold of the nurse practitioner (on hols) to see if it's even safe / advisable to be pregnant this soon after my SAH. Has anyone out there had children after SAH?? I was coiled and latest scan showed all well. Juliette xx
  17. Saw my consultant Wednesday (got the all clear from my latest MRA -yay!!), and he pretty much said the same as yours Caroline about the different feelings in my head. Said he'd never heard it explained like i did though, said someone had once described the pressure as an elephant sat on their head - now that would hurt!!! Juliette x
  18. I get this as well - good description! I'm about 5 and half months post SAH and luckily don't really many get headaches at the moment, but do get the exact feeling you described. Have MRA tomorrow, then seeing my consultant in a couple of weeks. Will try and remember to ask why it happens and let you all know. Juliette x
  19. Hi Hazel, Welcome to BTG, it really is a wonderful place to find the answers & support. I can only re-iterate what is being said, keep hydrated (really does keep away the headaches) and listen to your body. If you feel tired, rest. It doesn't have to be going to bed, just sit somewhere quiet for a while. For me, a bit of fresh air clears my head as well. I'm 5 months post coiling now and still get tired, but can do so much more than when i first got out. I don't work now, but have 2 young girls who have a lot of energy who i want to keep up with. To start with it was hard for me to even watch them without feeling ill (headache, nausea...) & then feeling guilty for not being able to do everything for them. Now i just have to remind them to keep the noise down cos it hurts mummys head! But even thats getting better - might still use the excuse to the girls though!! I'm generally a very positive person & have been lucky not to get depressed about whats happened. But i can see how anyone could after going through this. It's pretty crappy & stressfull for everyone involved. But the support on this site is invaluable & your Dr can help you too. Hope you're feeling ok, take care Juliette xx
  20. Fab news on the all clear! Hope your recovery is going well - sounds like it is Juliette x
  21. Hi Melissa, Welcome to BTG! There are so many great positive people on here. I didn't have a shunt fitted, but I'm sure you'll find someone who's gone through something similar. I hope you find the answers. Be strong. Juliette xx
  22. Hi Suzie, Welcome to BTG. Well done for finding it so soon - took me a while after getting out of hospital to even look! You'll find lots of useful information and lots of lovely people to ask any questions you might have. I haven't heard about getting 2nd opinions, but i was coiled and had a CT scan hours after the procedure and a MRI a couple of days later due to complications with my eye. Things work differently in different countries & even different health boards, but i'm being checked (scanned) for the next 3 years. Take care, please don't do too much too soon. Juliette xx
  23. Welcome to the site! I've definiitely found it useful, has made some of my worries go away . Drinking lots of fluids helped reduce my headaches - knew when i hadn't had enough... Listen to your body and try not to do too much too soon. Your body will tell you - makes my head hurt when i do too much and get exhausted Any questions, please ask, there's always seems to be somone here with reassuring words. Take care, Juliette xx
  24. Thank you - makes me feel alot better. Will brave the plane next time! xx
