Surfer34
Before I had my cerebral angiogram I was pretty sure the doctor said they were going to insert a catheter into my rgt side groin and THEN my left side groin. However, they only ended up dong the right side groin. I was wondering if its common to do both sides and if anyone here had their procedure done on both sides ? The reason I was wondering is because I have read alot about how important it is to have a "technically sufficient" angiogram performed and that means a "4 vessel" angiogram. garyolly
Hi there, When i had my Cerebral Angiogram Procedure, the surgeon went through the right groin. Don't know why you were told that both sides would be done?
Super Mario
The right side is usually used for any type of angiogram but if, for some reason they can't use the right side they will use the left. If you noticed all the angiogram suites are set out to use the right hand side. This is from someone who has had both cardio and brain angiograms, 4 in total. What they may have said is if they can't use the right for some reason they would then use the left.
