Sleep

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

Hope everybody is well this morning.

Why is it that nearly every weekend, my sleep pattern is awful?? Late getting up this morning, due to being wide awake and starving hungry at 3.30am. Managed to get back to sleep at about 5.30am and steal a couple more broken hours.

Think that I'm going to have to have a snack before I hit the sack tonight....just can't understand why I feel so hungry if I wake up during the night. The worse thing about having to enter the kitchen at that time of night to pinch a biscuit, is that the cat and dog who sleep in there, think that it's their brekkie time!

Catch you later,

Love K x :)

Hi there

Hope everyone had a nice weekend, Karen the washing machine how did it go? Sami good football match yesterday hope you weren’t tired after the housework?

I was so tired yesterday & was awake at 3am I dont understand logic in that at all

We started to empty the bedroom yesterday its going to be a massive task I think, however already Ronnie has 2 small wardrobes in the hall, & 2 chest in the kitchen where the table should be god knows where the beds going to go!!! Yes we have a fairly big bedroom which just means more stuff really, & my brain seems to hate clutter of that sort its so weird it just cant cope when things are out of place, I cant explain the feeling, I knew this would happen I just console myself with well its going to look nice & it’ll be fresher & hopefully it wont take long ha! but I can’t foul myself though…………..

The painter said he was going to start 6th Nov but its now the 30th Oct which is sooner but quicker the better, so after yesterday I’m knackered today hey no change there for me I did do a lot yesterday & I cooked 2 meals too one for yesterday & one to freeze so suppose that didn’t help, & back and forward emptying things wiping & hovering & having to decide what’s going out & finding things that gave me memories…..

My friend’s Silver Wedding is next week going for a meal on Sunday with them, so sometime this week I’m going to have to go shopping to see what I can get them I don’t have a clue so it Ugh!! Hate shopping now & believe me I was your shop-a-holic once upon a life time.

We’ll had a rest got to get back to it. Will defiantly need chocolate to give me energy later – well that’s my excuse anyway.

Bye just now

Louise.

Hiya,

Love your Smiley Face, Louise!!

Hope that your weekend was a good one as well. You've obviously been working hard.....still, just think about that lovely bedroom that you will eventually have! what colour have you chosen? I know what you mean about clutter ..... but I've always been like it!! I suppose that living in a small place doesn't help either, so I have to clear out quite regularly.

Eric took most of Saturday to strip down the washer.....it was gunked up with washing powder residue and limescale ..... so it's all been cleaned up and now its working, thanking goodness. House looked like a chinese laundry at the weekend......washing drying everywhere. Just waiting for the parts to be delivered for the dryer now. :D

I don't like shopping either (apart from Ikea!) ...... I've never been in to clothes shopping anyway .... I use mail order quite a bit, especially "Next".

Anyway, must go and have some lunch ..... just bought a new sandwich toaster this morning...going to try it out and have a cheese toasty.

Be back later,

Love K x

Hi there

I thought that one kind of summed me up sleepy & dopy all in one.

Although we’ve got a fairly large room it’s got a big German wardrobe in it dark oak so I have chosen cream with a light brown & silver splodge (only way I can explain) & terracotta sand for the ceiling which is the same colour as the splodge.

I have to get someone in to fix my washing machine we’re lucky here we don’t have limescale that’s what one of the engineers told me anyway I’d been using too much powder because that’s what it said on the pack, anyway because we don’t have the limescale I use less powder. :)

When I read this earlier I though lunch I’d been so busy I’d forgot I don’t know where today has gone, well I do I’ve been at the bottom of my wardrobe chucking out shoes I’ll never wear again……… :(

Well bye for now

Louise.

Hi Louise,

The colour scheme sounds lovely......wish I had a big bedroom.....ours, well, you just bang into everything.... we've got a wrought iron/wood bed..we even cut the end of the bedposts off so we stopped banging into them!!

Talking about bedrooms......just been hoovering up my sons......no wonder that he's got a dust allergy......I have to go in there armed with tissues as it makes my nose run like a tap! I thought that kids would get better as they got older! My daughters is just as bad .... you need a garden rake rather than a hoover and probably a skip to chuck the rubbish in!

Still, looks like rain so going to go and get the washing in.......can't wait for the tumble dryer to be fixed up.

A bit boring at home today ..... haven't got much done, the house always looks like a tip after the weekend.....so nice excuse to come on here and have a chat....anyway, must go!

Afternoon Ladies

Had a good weekend this weekend and surprisingly didn't rest during the day.

I got the front room tidied (its a long one ie front room and dining room) got some washing done for Paul to iron  , tidied the bedroom as much as I could and then watched my Home and Away for the week - yes I know sad but what can I say

The footie match was Ok, sitting with friends on the side line on a Sunday morning always was a good time for me so I was determined I was going to do it this week. We managed to draw 1-1 this week. Paul was happy and has taken back over in the management of it!!

Also a good result for my Rossi in his race as his closest rival failed to finish :P which means he's now leading the championship and hopefully will win it next week at the last race - or I'm going to have my tattoo removed!!!!

Catch you ladies later or tomorrow as this evening is food shopping night!!!

Hiya,

Sami, I happened to be watching and listening to the racing yesterday afternoon.........whilst ironing......now I know why you call yourself RossiGirl!! :D Glad that your weekend was a good one! I didn't realise that Home and Away was still on..... When the series was first on my Australian Brother-In-Law was one of the lifeguards running on the beach during the intro .... haven't seen it for donkeys years.

Had my food delivered today......tonight it's going to be left over chicken casserole with a few sausages bunged in.....can't really be bothered to be honest!

My mate is over tomorrow for coffee (Dee of the big cake/pastry variety) so need to get going with my cleaning ...... too much to do today, but hopefully, I can get rid of some of those extra calories!

Have a nice evening all,

Take care and hopefully sweet dreams!!

Hi Karen

Yeah Home and Away is on Channel Five at 6pm. I followed it for years and years and then stopped watching it and got back into it when they used to put the omnibus on on a Saturday morning - well they scrapped that so I have to tape it now.

Yeah I've followed Rossi for the last 7 or 8 years and have yet to see a better racer. Siobhan likes Dani Pedrosa and my step daughter Stacey likes Nicky Hyden so when they crashed out yesterday they weren't happy bunnies  I have his name tattooed on my lower back in Chinese Rainbow Caligraphy so that unless you know what it says it just looks decorative.

We camped at Donington Park when the racing was here this year and watched England go out of the world cup all in the same weekend - the first time that the weather has been scorching when we've camped its normally chucking it down with rain.

Will think of you in the monring have your big fat danish pastry and might just have to pick one up from Tesco tonight when I do my shopping!!

Have a good evening everyone

Love Sami

Hi there

Sami, you seemed to have a good weekend & no rest wow & doing all that.

Yes if there’s something you like why stop it, 1-1 not a win but not bad or is that just me who’s not really into footie.

I used to watch all the soaps (I know sad) but when I had the Brain Haemorrhage I just couldn’t understand some things they seemed to silly for words just how my brain works now I guess.

Karen, dinner tonight for me is easy lots of vegetables & pasta Ronnie’s driving someone & wont be in for dinner he was only here one evening last week for dinner oh joy!!!!

We were in England that weekend not on holiday visiting family it was very. Very hot too hot for me now (sadly).

We have a caravan that’s our escape.

Well bye for now I’m away to put my feet up I don’t know where today has gone. :(

Take care

Hiya,

I had another night of weird sleep....woke up a 3.00am...starving again, but managed to get back off to sleep and overslept this morning. My dreams have also been very vivid again.

Had coffee and cake with my friend Dee this morning.....had a good natter....I still find it quite hard work and tiring, holding a conversation for than a couple of hours..... I used to be able to gas on for hours and hours, but now, I seem to run out of steam.

The board seems quiet this morning ..... It's a grotty day down south, grey and raining ...... away to do some chores now and make up for my late start this morning!

Hope all is well with everyone.

Love K x :)

Hi Karen

You're allowed to have a lay in occasionally dear!!! I slept quite well again last night - woke first at 5.30 this morning. I'm finding that if I stay awake during the day then I do have a better nights sleep and so long as I drink plenty of non-caffeine drinks throughout the day the headaches aren't so bad.

My dreams feel weird too! I know that they are quite vivid but can never remember them - just wake with a weird feeling and then something during the day will trigger a memory and remind me what I dreamt about.

I couldn't find any Danish that I liked in Tesco last night so had to make do with half a Bounty this morning. Mind you I have got a litre bottle of Tesco Active Energy Drink (cheaper version of Lucozade !) and it tastes quite nice.

Paul wakes up between 3 and 3.30 every morning and ends up going down into the kitchen to 'get munchies' - we eat dinner quite late so i wonder if that has anything to do with it - but I don't get up :?

Oh well, don't forget the Ginko tomorrow!!!

Speak later

Hi Sami,

Glad that your night was a good one. I think that the vivid dreams are causing me to wake up, almost like I have to respond to them.....it's weird...not sure whether I'm dreaming or its reality.....it's very strange...must be some sort of brain activity going on!

I've written Gingko on my list....so will pop out tomorrow and pick some up. :D

Actually, I quite fancy a Bounty to nibble! I feel quite tired today, even though I've done nothing! I don't often shop at Tesco, but might try some of their energy drinks, just for a change.

Eric's in Northern Ireland today, doing a bit of troubleshooting ..... I love Southern Ireland, but the pics that I've seen of Northern Ireland always look very depressing, but he's back tomorrow night.

I shall think of Paul tonight if I'm up at the same time ...... we'll probably be munching in unison!

Glad that you liked the attachment that I sent via e-mail.....it came from where I used to work...I miss that sort of thing now, even though it's all a bit silly....but it makes the day go a little easier.....it's been great teasing the dog with it!! (Might try it out on our cat later!!)

Speak to you later,

Love K x

Hi there

I do that if I wake in the night for hours on end I over sleep in the morning, & that second sleep always makes me dopy all day. :(

Its nice to have a good old natter isn’t? I still find it hard to hold a conversation for more than a few hours so you’re not alone there.

Sometimes my dreams are vivid & weird especially if I eat late on at night which I don’t do now sometimes my dreams & what has happened in the day get mingled.

Its misty here in Scotland, I’ve been away out trying to see what I can get for our friends Silver Wedding still got a week.

So I’m knackered now yesterday I did a lot & don’t know where the day went to.

Well all for now good to hear your getting a better sleep Sami.

Bye for now

Hi Louise,

There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason why I get these weird bouts of sleep, they just seem to crop up...but it's so annoying....hopefully they will go as quickly as they came!

Do you know what you're going to get for the Silver Wedding Anni? I know that it should be something silver..but I suppose that it doesn't have to be. Eric and I, inherited some silver....tea set, golfing cups, sweet dishes, salt and pepper pots etc....but they've ended up in the loft, as I'm too lazy to keep cleaning it!!

If you fancy a natter on "chat" Friday evening @8.30pm....myself and Therese will be online......we're all a bit slow with the typing etc....but, hey, who cares!!

Arranging washing on airers and radiators at the minute.....it will surely be luxury when my dryer is fixed.....there's more to life than this!!

Catch you later,

Love K x :)

Hi Karen

Yeh I know they just go it’s really weird though!!!

I’d thought about a silver picture frame which I think they might get anyway & Ronnie suggest something a bottle of Champaign & a picture frame (maybe not silver) so that might be an idea.

I’ll see how I am on Friday, evenings aren’t really my time on this but if I know about something that’s different-thanks.

I haven’t always had the wahserdryer but what a difference it makes especially in the winter, & god I hope there is more to life than that!!! :)

It’s got really cold so I’m doing hug-a-mug of (hot chocolate) yum!!

Bye for now

Afternoon ladies

When we moved into our house 9 years ago we found a silver tray with four brandy glasses on it in the shed - unfortunately no brandy!

Well I've been out and done the first of my Christmas shopping in actual shops rather than on line. Nottingham was quite busy today. The weather is fairly grey but warm!!!

I save mty Boots advantage points and then at the end of the year I can go and get prezzies with them. Siobhan ends up with loads of little bits in a gift bag and loves sorting through. Also bought her a Deal or No Deal board game - she adores the programme and watches it with my mum and dad every day :? Also bought a little note book to write down questions to ask the specialist when I go and am going to leave space to write down his answers too.

Won't be able to do Friday night as we have one of the football lads celebrating his birthday and is going into Nottingham. And as he's just starting dating my step daughter I'll be going to keep an eye on him

Anyway no rest for the wicked - more artworks to proof read!!!

Catch you ladies later

Love Sami

Hi Louise,

Champagne sounds nice and a silver picture also sounds good ..... if somebody else gets them a frame, at least you can group them together.

The hot choccy drink sounds good, it's also got quite cold down south .... think that we've been spoilt by the recent warm weather, so the fire has been stoked up!

Don't worry if you don't want to come onto "chat" ... no probs ... just thought that I would let you know. :)

Just been writing out cheques for some bills .... think that I will buy a Lotto ticket this week!!

Going to prepare some dinner ..... haven't got a clue what to do...

Catch you later,

Love K x :D

Ugh Christmas what a thought, though this is the first year ever I have already started, I got 2 while on holiday in August my friend's son is 21 on the 27 Dec so I have his chrissy pressy still to get his birthday. :(

I go to the shops in the morning around 10am & back about 12.30pm thats about all I can hack.

That's a very good idea writing down questions because sometimes your mind just goes a total blank & you cant even think of one, well that's what happens to me.

Bye for now

Hi Sami,

Just caught your post...we must have been posting at the same time.

Brandy glasses + tray and yet no brandy...... one of my fav tipples!

So you've been xmas pressie shopping....you're obviously one very organised lady! I use a Goldfish credit card for all of my shopping, as does Eric for his business use.....we save up the points during the year and redeem them for vouchers, for shops such as Next, M & S...it's handy to buy a few pressies and some yummy M & S xmas food! I've just been online now to redeem them.....as xmas is starting to get quite close! But I love xmas...always will do I hope!

Siobahn sounds like she's going to be one lucky little girl! I must admit that I miss the buzz of xmas, with my two being grown up....used to love all of the Father Christmas stuff....great fun!

No problems about Friday Sami, I know that you don't come online in the evening....but just thought that I would let you know. :)

Anyway, must go......have a good evening all,

Love Karen x

Hya

Yeah we used put down foot prints from the fire place to the christma tree and leave glitter infront of the fire. But she's decided to tell us that she doesn't believe in FC anymore and whats more I got "and you're the Tooth Fairy too aren't you mum?" I couldn't lie - but I notice that I didn't get a refund for the eight teeth I've paid for! :?

I do still love Christmas though. Last year I managed to get Paul an Arnold Palmer Pro Shot Golf game that he'd had when he was a kid - it was in perfect condition and I got it on e-bay. He was well shocked when he opened it. I love to see the looks on people's faces when they're opening their presents. I prefer the feeling that gives me to opening my own. Sentimental old fool that I am

Anyway ladies must dash will try and catch up before I leave for the day.

Hi Sami,

We used to cut out a stencil footprint and sprinkle flour around.....always left out mince pies and brandy for Father Xmas + water for the Reindeers...really miss all of that.....will have to wait for Grand Children I suppose....but I do love Xmas.....love the old films on tv and the old music..! You can always find me playing slushy xmas songs and cooking the xmas dinner! I'm an old romantic, but I still enjoy the magic!! :D

Take care all and sweet dreams! (Not that I personally want any!)

Hi there

I bet you must be thinking I’m a right old misery guts I used to love Christmas time too but it just doesn’t have the same appeal now, maybe it’s to busy for me too. My Mum used to be exactly like you two, Christmas songs playing (Bing & Nat-king-cole) while cooking Christmas dinner with tinsel slung around her shoulders like a wrap its that I miss I think. By the time it comes around I’m too knackered to enjoy it, but as time passes it has got better, thankfully. :(

There’s nothing wrong with being a romantic Karen or Sentimental Sami, believe me its nice to find two people who obviously still enjoy the magic that Christmas brings. I might even get smitten.

Mind you its not all gloom & doom when I was in the re-hab hospital I got out over Christmas & the new year, when I was waiting to get my meds people started to arrive on the ward a great big brass band they played Christmas carols it was magical now every time I hear something like that I cry buckets.

Nite guys

Hi Louise,

No, you're not a misery guts...I know that Christmas time can be quite a rough time for a lot of people, especially if you've lost close members of your family. I just see xmas as family time....it's the only two days out of the year, where we all have to be together...... it's hard work in its preparation, but I also think it's a time to reflect.....switch off the tv and talk etc.

This year for us, it's going to have be less commercial, low key and it will certainly be downscaled as I'm not working......but I personally don't mind that...I'm quite happy just to have some good food on the table... listening to Bing Crosby and Nat king Cole.....a cracker to pull, a stupid hat!! (A big box of Thornton's continental chocs would be a plus!)

Well Louise, hope that you can enjoy a bit of the magic too ...... sling a bit of tinsel around your neck, like your Mum used to ...... All being well this year, think that I will be slinging everything on and making the most of it!

Nite all,

Love K x :D

Morning ladies

Yeah we used to do the sprinkle flor thing for the footprints - mince pie and milk for santa and carrots for reindeers - Paul used to have to bite a chunk out of the carrot - I had the mince pie cos Paul doens't like them!!!

My Christmas organising is up in the air at the moment. I've normally done most if not all of the Christmas present shopping by now. Luckily I can order stuff over the internet and have it delivered to work :)

My mum and dad always come round for Christmas dinner and to watch Siobhan open her pressies (if there are any left by time they get there!) Paul and my mum normally cook the dinner and then I'll tidy up after and load the dishwasher etc. I love the whole idea of Christmas but always feel rather down by tea time as it seems such a lot of hard work and preparation for 12 hours of the year.

We normally have a party at our house on New Years Eve and family and friends come, some neighbours pop in on their way out to other places or on their way back  I'm still determined that this year will be n different. I find I can cope by keeping everything as normal as possible.

Anyway - should do some work I suppose :?

Catch you later

Morning

Thanks Karen for not thinking me a misery, actually I too think its time to reflect it’s got really commercialized now I think I find it too tiring now.

Yep we had to down scale a few years ago as I don’t work now either the last few year I have to say have been a lot better now I think about it, the run up to it isn’t but the actual day has been its funny I’d forgotten that…

Yes you do that Karen make the most of it.

Sami, that’s great that Paul & your Mum cook, Ronnie cooks ours I just sit & oversee it.

Make sure this year you’re not down by tea time enjoy it get someone else to tidy up & load the dishwasher.

We have friends up on New Years Night its down scaled a lot since I had the Brain Haemorrhage I do a buffet the first year after SAH I thought oh yes I can do this I was wrong..

Well all for now bye. :?
