  1. Hello Lauren(beautiful name my daughters name too) As you know we all cope differently, i went on complete autopilot when my partner Mark had his SAH. I only cried twice, the night i found him collapsed and fitting and the next day with happiness when the Neurosurgeon called me at home to tell me that Mark had came through his coiling OP with flying colours. I lost half a stone in weight the first week and had a monster of a cold sore appear(complete stress and worry) and went up and down to the hospital day and night for 13 days like a frightened rabbit caught in headlights. I watched over him daily for 3 months in total setting my alarm every 4 hours for his Nimipodine when he first got discharged from hospital. He went back to work after 3 months and has never looked back and neither have i.We both have come out the other end very much stronger and he always had a very positive attitude one of the reasons i fell in love with him;-) so that in itself helped his recovery of that i have no doubt. Ok i also had some very dark thoughts as in what will Lauren and i do if anything bad happens to him, but i tried to rid my mind of this but i know its only human and normal. You take care pet and im sure your mum is very proud of you. Angela xx

  4. Hello all, Ann lovely to hear how well your doing good for you. The only change in my Mark is pre SAH he was a tea drinker and now post SAH a coffee drinker, i think thats to do with him giving up the cigarettes, he tells me he needs a kick from something.
  5. Welcome Kath, Its people like you, doctors and consultants who deserve all the recognition for all the hard work you do. In the hospital the nurses took great care of my partner Mark and every single one of them have my eternal gratitude. Best Wishes Angela xx
  6. Hello Everyone, Mark had his follow up Angiogram this morning and the coils are still in place and there is no sign of any bleeding. I was very anxious this morning pacing up and down like a caged lion in the house. Then the phone went and it was Mark to tell me he was ok. As you all know he has to lie on his back now for about 6 hours he said he would call me to let me know when i can pick him up. So i am a very happy woman.
  7. Hello Holly, So sorry to hear your boyfriend has suffered a Haemorrhage, i know how you feel my boyfriend suffered one too in Feb this year but is doing wonderful now thank god. Wishing you both the very best take care Angela xx
  8. Thank you all for your kind and encouraging words, yes Karen normality is fantastic:-D Mark has been working in Essex since 21st June.He calls me everyday and he is just going from strength to strength. I will say to him how are you today etc and he will say Chick(his pet name for me) im on top of the world. I know im biased but what a guy. He will be home on Thursday and i for one cant wait to see him.
  9. Hi, Mark my partner called the DVLA regarding his driving license and the lady told him that if he was not going to be drving for 6 months then he would have to surrender it.
  10. Hello Angela, Welcome to this great site:-D i see your in Bonnie Scotland like me;-). My partner was treated in the Southern General when he suffered his SAH, those people are worth their weight in gold. Like the others have said thanks for sharing your story with us. Take Care. xx
  11. Hello all, Mark went back to work on Monday 7th June, exactly 14 weeks and 1 day after his SAH. He is doing really well, he amazes me he is such a strong guy. He had a back to work meeting thingy and they asked him a serious of questions. One question was had he any suicidal thoughts:shock:, mark being mark said "you must be joking? im estatic that im alive after what i have been through" think mark was a bit annoyed at that question cant blame him either. Anyway like i say he is doing fantastic and enjoying being back at work so all is well.
  12. Hello John, I think your an absolute inspiration after all that you have went through.. your a very strong man of that there is no doubt. I was reading an article about Bret Michaels(american singer) who suffered a SAH in april. His Neurosurgeon said only 15 to 20% of people come through a Sah with no problems at all. Thats why i know how very lucky indeed Mark is. You say you feel very fortunate that you had your bleed at home as you could have been away driving, thats the way i feel as Mark drives all over the UK in a 17 and a half tonne wagon.... its unthinkable if that had happened in his truck. I hope all goes well at your six months check up take care John. xx
  13. Thank you for your kind replies, your the salt of the earth on here. Sami i could walk along that bay all day:-D like you say its gorgeous, that was our second time in San Antonio. Our legs were buckling at the amount of walking we did. walked off all the food we ate every night.
  14. Hi Mark:-D My partner his name is also Mark aged 40 had his Sah 4 days after your wife Annette and he is recovering so well and i am very thankful for it. Im sorry to hear about Annette having a Sah as i know exactly what your going through. I hope you get the insurance thing sorted quickly and im wishing Annette a speedy recovery. Take Care.
  15. Hello Everyone, Mark is still doing great the doctor gave him the go ahead to fly so we went for a well deserved holiday to San Antonio Bay in Ibiza last week. Mark had no ill effects with the flight, it was a wonderful holiday and i think we both appreciated it even more after what happened. We both have a lovely colour pity we came back to rain the last two days. Hope you are all doing well. My beloved in the hotel balcony. Having a light refreshment.
  16. Hello everyone, Mark is still doing grand:-D its 9 weeks to this day he had his SAH and he is recovering so well. He has been driving nearly every other day(short journeys) and absolutely loving it. He has not had any headaches lately and he does not go for a nap during the day either now. Im amazed at him, im no expert but i reckon his positive attitude has been a lot to do with it with Mark. He keeps saying how he cant wait to go back to work as i know he misses his workmates etc (probably fed up looking at my face). As i write this he is on his pc playing one of his war games. so obviously his concentration level is good. Anyway just wanted to let you all know all is well.
  17. Hi John, I laughed out loud when i read what you said to the doctor:lol:. When i went up to see Mark that night after he was coiled, the nurse said he was the patient from hell as he would not lie down and kept sitting up. she also said when he was moved from the HDU she would be putting a sign at the door saying he was banned.
  18. Hello Jen, Welcome, this site is great and so are the members.
  19. Hi Zoe, Sorry to hear Richard suffered a SAH, my partner had one 2 weeks before your partner so i know how your feeling. Glad to hear he is making good progress and still has his sense of humour. The human spirit never ceases to amaze me. Wishing you both the very best. xx
  20. Hi Rod thank you for your kind reply. Hi Lynz yes baby steps as you say, it was very traumatic for me even though i never went through what he did, mentally i went to hell and came out the other side. I totally agree with your sentiment on what does not kill you only makes you stronger. Hope you are doing well yourself.
  21. Hello everyone, Mark is doing well, infact so well his doctor gave him the go ahead to drive his car again he is over the moon:-D He still gets tired etc but like i say he is doing grand. Hope you all have a lovely weekend. xxxx
  22. Thank you all for the warm welcome. xxx
  23. Hello all, Mark is doing well and believe it or not he keeps saying how bored he is in the house all the time. Its wonderful for me to hear him complaining etc that way i know he is on the mend so to speak. I know he is still recovering on the inside but he said he is wanting to try for a walk this weekend so im hoping he does, if not then it dont matter as its one day at a time.
  24. Hello Lynz, Your daughter is an inspiration and i had a lump in my throat reading your story. No wonder your proud and so you should be. xxx
