Hi all Thanks for all the PMs and posts here. We have now recieved a letter from the DWP saying that they have written to her consultant for a full picture. She does have an OT, physio, carers 4 times a day and social worker so maybe we could ask them all to add to the report. If they write a report then can we forward it to the DWP as part of the evidence or do they need to send it?? You've all been brill- thanks Will update you when know more.....

Hi Diane Sorry to hear Mark is poorly again. It sounds like Walsgrave are doing more than they did for me. He is certainly in the best place to get checked out. Remember hun, I'm only down the road and can chat on the phone or meet you. What ward is he on? Let me know what happens on Monday...... Hi all Many thanks for all the PMs i've had and Aine thanks for your advice too. We rang to ask about the letter and they said they are reassesing the claim but if they still don'tup it then they will send us the appeals form and then we will get an advisor on board.

Thanks guys for your help. I thought it sounded drastic too! Need to have a think and assess what is happening again first. My sister has ovarian cysts and she suggested I see a gynae doc too. Got to go back on the 8th Feb so will see then Thank you all

Hi all I've been having weird stomach cramps for a good few months. these are either spasmodic or they are like a dull ache (like period pain). I went to the docs last night as I assumed that it must have been related to my doc making me come off the pill. Anyway he has given me tablets to see how I get on but he thinks it may be a central nervous system problem (from my SAH) linked to my spinal cord being damaged by the seepage of blood. He says that if the tablets don't work, that only a full hysterectomy (spelling:lol:) would help. I'm not sure I want to cut off my chances but don't know!!! I can never go back on my pill so thats not an option. Has anyone else experienced stomach cramps/ pain since SAH?? Thanks- Can't believe after over 3 years i'm still asking health related questions about my SAH!

Hi Karen and Penny Thanks for your help. I will try and get hold of the CAB on Monday morning. Mum does go out Penny but only when she is hoisted into the wheelchair and took out by either me or my sister etc because she can't push it for herself. Do you think that will make a difference? I will ring them and ask for the appeals form as well. Yes she does get high care component. Will that make a difference then? I did think about the different strokes website before loggin on here. Hi guys Karen hope you don't mind me posting this xxx This is not SAH related (mum has a series of different conditions is one is really rare) but I know I can rely on you lot to help me! As most of you know my mum now can't walk at all and has to be hoisted everywhere. She used to get lower mobility DLA cover but now obviously she can't walk at all we thought and have been told that she can get higher. We asked the DWP to assess her again and they have come back and said no. we rang them again and they said they would look again at the claim and today we have had a letter saying no. We plan to appeal but don't know what we need to do. Can anyone help?? Thanks

I lie funny with mine too and I've had to replace it twice already from where I have worn out one side of it!!!

Hi Adam Sorry to hear you are going through it with your employer. I had trouble with mine too in the fact that they letme do phased return but wanted me to return to ft in 6 weeks. I did it but then feel apart quicklyafterwards and ended up off for months and eventually got pushed out of teaching by my consultant etc. I wish you lots of luck cos anything like me I didn't have the energy to fight.

Yeah my headaches and nerve pain much worse in winter. Roll on spring

I'd agree too. Three years on and sometimes I still get a pain there. The consultant checked it out and said that he thought it was made weaker during my coiling and my pain threshhold may be lower there.

I take the same tablets as Jan and I must say that usually they do work quite well. I did try loads of others first though so it is trial and error! Tina- I'm with you on the emotional front- i've been like it for a week or so!

Hi all Thought i'd post and see what others thought as I noticed Jan commenting on her inhalers in the green room ( Jan- hope you don't mind me saying that! ) I went back to the doctors about 3 weeks ago (as some of you know) because of my breathing/ coughing fits. He put me back on a blue inhaler (preventer) and told me to take it whenever i needed it. I went back two weeks later for check up and told my doctor that my headaches had been much worse in that fortnight. He told me that my inhaler will make my headaches/ nerve pain worse and also it would make my shakes much worse. He was so right ( I didn't tell him about the shakes). I asked him for a solution he said tough basically and said that I could have a serious asthma attack if didn't take inhaler but that I could live with the headaches!! Has anyone else had any problems and if yes, did you have any solutions. My docs answer was pain killers and he knows many a time that I have said they don't work!!

Hi Anders Welcome to BTG, your English is great so no worries there. I was only 27 when I had my SAH, it seems so young but we got through it!! I struggle with tiredness too but have to work full time to pay the student loans, oh how i dream to go part time.
