  1. Hi Linda Good luck for the scan and hope all goes right for you xx My thoughts are with you
  2. Hi Ray Welcome to behindthegray. We are a very supportive and friendly bunch. Ask questions or talk whenever you want or just browse and take in all the posts. There is so much on here to take in. You are so early in your recovery, so take care
  3. Thanks for the email Karen Well done Yasmin- you look great xx
  4. Hi Kelly, I have already replied to your other post but wanted to say a big hello to you! I'm only down the road in Coventry I'm kind of hoping your not a Leicester City fan or we could be in trouble as I'm a season ticket holder at Coventry  Stay positive hun and if you ever want to talk or meet, let me know and we'll sort something out.
  5. Hi Kelly, Welcome to BTG, you are doing really well in your recovery so far and things will get better, it is long and hard but it does get easier. The anxiety and pains that you are feeling do get better or at least easier as you learn what is 'normal' after SAH. Be positive and you know where we are if you want support, advice or friendship.
  6. Hi Andi Welcome to this fantastic group. You will make loads of friends and get loads of support and advice if you want/need it. Anxiety is the worst, I was off for 5 months after my SAH and was scared to go out of the house on my own. When hubby Simon was with me I was ok but if I had to go out on my own it was to my mums (200yds away!) and then i'd send her to the shop etc! It does get better though, stay positive. BTW if you want a garden to look after, you can have mine I hate gardening!
  7. Hi Rod, Thats the beauty of this site isn't it, others confirm that what Merill is going through is normal in SAH terms. It does save some worrrying and you always know that others are here to help.:-D
  8. Hi Rod, I'm just over 3 years on now and I still feel its like a huge rollercoaster journey. As time goes on, hopefully the good days get more or thats the plan anyway. Keep positive - Merrill will get better xx
  9. I've been trying to get a copy to no avail. Will try the hospital newsagents tomorrow night. Will email it if I get a copy Karen xx
  10. Hi Celia, Glad you've made a decision. My fingers are crossed that no more falls out. Well done Jane on helping you to come to a decision that you feel good with. By the way I love your signature quote- onwards and upwards- its so true and i'm 3 years on! Most days still have an element of a battle in them! Long may your recovery continue
  11. Hi Celia, A big welcome to me too. I'm sure you'll look fab too if you go for the big shave! Well done in posting so soon after your SAH. Behindthegray is a fab place for support, advice and friendship. Stick with us ;-)
  12. Well done- I'm so pleased that things are going better for you both. My fingers are crossed for you both that things keep progressing and that you can get the care home sorted that you want.
  13. Hi Phil Sending hugs and kisses and hoping everything works out for Sharon. Good luck
  14. Hi Vicki Wecome to behindthegray. So sorry to hear about your mum. Unfortunately the recovery process is long and slow and feels like both the carer and the patient is on a massive rollercoaster! Take time for yourself and ask questions, there are lots of people on here who will help, whether they are carers like yourself or the SAH'er. My thoughts are with you all xx
  15. Hi Jan, It sounds like you have now been told exactly the same with my headaches and nerve pain. As you know I am taking a higher dose of anti depressants. I've been told that they have to be careful of what they give me cos of my chest (caused by SAH) but would be interested to know what your consultant tells your doc so I can ask my doc as well. They never offered me a MRI to find out......they just said it was permanent! I did the same though as just took my consultant for gospel, they are supposed to know what they are doing
  16. Hi, It is really early in your hubby's recovery, it is a real rollercoaster unfortunately. I'm nearly 3 years on and still feel very much in the recovery process- still with lots of headaches and dizziness. Try to be patient but I do understand that it must be difficult for you too. Love and hugs Laura xx
  17. My fingers are crossed for you all Love and hugs Laura xx
  18. Happy anni-versary Phil xx Good luck with the job hunting xx Love and hugs Laura xx
  19. Hi Bessie, Just wanted to let you know that I had a high fever and high temperature over 2 weeks after my SAH. They tested and tested and couldn't fnd the reason for it, in the end when they discharged me they still had no answers but thought i was better off n my own home. A mystery still 2 1/2 years on.... Stay positive Laura xx
  20. Hi Nora, Welcome to BTG Don't feel bad about having a seizure, I think they can be quite common even though I was lucky not to have experienced one. What part of Scotland are you from? I've only been to a couple of different places but it is beautiful. Looking forward to hearing more from you Love and hugs Laura xx
  21. Good luck Anne, got my fingers crossed that this week will prove a breeze xxx Remember to rest as well. I'm a perfectionist too and was trying to gain promotion at sch, stupid really cos I was finding it really difficult as it was! Oh well, we live and learn! Let us know how you get on Love and hugs Laura
  22. I'm joining the club too especially in the last couple of weeks again! Love and hugs Laura xx
  23. Hi Anne, I think this is a common problem cos I did exactly the same! After about 4 months I returned to work, as a primary school teacher, on a phased return. Within 6 weeks I was back at full time hours. I lasted 3 months before I was off for 5 months with exactly the same symptoms as you. When I eventually felt like I could return I went back pt (as advised by OH) but still on a phased return because school wanted me back to ft ASAP, I lasted 3 weeks and then was back off again. After being off for 3 months and having sen the consultant and many docs, I was forced out of teaching as they thought that it was far too much for me and suspected that it would be forever. I still work ft in education research and still find it very difficult to carry on. As you may know I had lots of trouble with my company over my illness and supposedly other reasons. I eventually took a demotion to keep them quiet. I still get wiped out one weekend in about three with exactly the same symptoms. Since mum has been in hospital these have been worse but I have another docs appt for Tuesday. You are definitely not alone in wanting to get back to 'normality' and overdoing it. I wish I had your work colleagues though Love and hugs Laura xx
  24. So pleased you've had your MRI John, fingers crossed for the right result. Love and hugs Laura xx
  25. Well done John- keep at them! Love and hugs Laura xx
