  1. Good Morning i have just had the swine flu jab last weds,i was strongly advised to have it,and i know some people are not wanting the vaccine. I will say i did hav a bit of reaction to the jab my arm became very sore and could not move much plus i was a bit feverish, but this has now passed, i was ok with the seasonal jab. paulg
  2. :redface:Even though i had a stroke i have the same problems working, and i also been told that i should not work! tiredness and bad fatique is always thier, i have changed my job at the company and reduced hours but even now is a problem, will have to look at early retirement maybe but as we all know this at the moment is not worth much:frown: Still i have learnt to take lots of small breaks which does help. tc paul
  3. sam Hi i too had the same request for my sick note, and i could not even walk and my wife had to take me down although the doctor did sighn me of for 3 months of which i had to see after that period. tc paul
  4. :thumbsup:thanks for your replies. i had a phone call again today saying that they need to speak to my wife with any care needs too, they also think i could attend some group meetings to help with my short term memory. i been told that i must cut down on hours of work, and will see if any benifits may be for me, my consultant at the hospital has said she would right any letters to support me in any claims, although i dont expext much:frown: I have also told headway about this site and they our aware of the site anyway. tc all paulg

Hi All just had headway on phone seems they can help me. because i am a paid up ni contibutions they should be able to get social allowance for i am to wait for thier phsycholigist to ring me to see how that could help with my short term memory which has got worse in last 6 months due to a further TIA . tc all paulg

  7. :frown5: After attending last week a cognitive memory assessment, of which i have some short time memory probs i was told that i had had another TIA in the past 2-6 months. , have been advised to reduce my working hours ,as i was getting too tired causing this TIA. I have been reffered to the org Headway, to see if thay can help me , of which they have contacted me. Has anyone else here have any dealings with headway.tc paul
  8. Hi i also have this problem from time to time if i walk far or use my left side a lot my right side complains, i also have had calcium problems which cause severe tiredness, and i take calcachew tabs for that and is often known as HPTH a blood test will confirm this. paulg

Well this has happened to me! i am presently seeing a pshycoligist for this condition which became much worse for back last year ,when i had a bad relapse from stoke complications and other illnesses which got me.I am trying now to take life much easier,and cut down on my work hours and i am finding it very diffilclt to cope with tiredness.tc all paul
  11. Hi caroline,i have left side weakness since my stroke,and take a lot of medication to contol it , i use to get serios musle spasams ( which did put in hospital for 7 weeks ), but now learn to live with it and know your limitations. tc paul

Hi Trish i myself have been through this minefield,i have in the past have got a social council worker to fill mine in,and i am being assessed at this time i get low rate personal care but social worker thinks i should get middle rate ,i will let you know,as my stroke side has not improved. tc paul

Hi ,i know what he is going through,since my stroke 3 yrs ago and a major relapse june last year (through trying to do to much)it is very hard to keep up ,i have had a lot of support from the stroke unit at my local hospital which is still ongoing,i am lucky that my employer lets me work 2-3 mornings a week and work the rest frpm home,but even now i tire very fast.its something that you have to find what works best for him,and of course with world credit crunch as well you feel that you need to work. one thing for sure he is not alone.paul
  15. Hi thier i had the use of a TENS Machine (Transcutaneous electrical nerve Stimulation ) on my left stroke side mainly for the shoulder and found it very good , the nhs lent me one four 6 weeks but you can buy them over the counter tc paul
