Hi ,i know what he is going through, since my stroke 3 yrs ago and a major relapse june last year (through trying to do to much)it is very hard to keep up ,i have had a lot of support from the stroke unit at my local hospital which is still ongoing,i am lucky that my employer lets me work 2-3 mornings a week and work the rest frpm home, but even now i tire very fast.its something that you have to find what works best for him,and of course with world credit crunch as well you feel that you need to work. one thing for sure he is not alone.paul

I am currently still under hospital guidence for this problem, and i was told today that i should not work full time again while having this fatigue,i tried too hard this year and ended up in hosptal for 7 weeks so i have to learn to relax. tc all paul

Hello i totally understand what you are going through!i have been recently been told i have moderate depression, after a recent long stay in hospital with stroke complications and pneumonia,(had my 3rd stroke in boxing day 2005).Talking about it is a good way of self help ,i also see a psychologist who has been a great help plus some medication, but most of all you are not alone, getting professional help is difficult ,but is worthwhile.take care paulg

hello i am a newbie, but not to strokes. i have had 2 tias and a med stroke. i had my first Tia 2002 which effected my right eye causing partial blindness.my main stroke was on boxing day 2005 and had no swalling control or left side movement.i had 8 weeks in hospital, and after a lot of treatment 14months i went back to work ,with a claw hand (left) and a limp . i then tried to do too much like we do! and ended up with severe spasticity and pneumonia, with another 7 weeks in hospital.i am now trying to recover. i was recommended this site as i am also a different strokes member too.
