Good Morning, Hope everyone is well. I know there have been previous posts about flying. Jim and I have planned a trip to the Caribbean in November. This is the first time we will fly since he suffered his SAH in December 2007. I think Jim is fine with this but at times I can be like a Mother Hen:lol: He has been on pretty fast rides at amusement parks:crazy: so I think he will be fine. I always have the fear of being in a different place without the medical care we have. I am sure I am over reacting but would like to know if you have flown and how you felt. I know everyone is different but your opinions would help. Cal XXXX

Hi Vicki, Welcome to BTG. I am so sorry to hear about your Mom. My husband Jim suffered a non-anyersum SAH in December 2007. Your Mom is in the early stages. I am sure your Mom does want to help herself. It is just very hard early on. Jim also lost a lot of his muscle co-ordination but it does come back once the person is strong enough to do the exercises. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Hi, So sorry it took me so long to respond My husband Jim also suffered a non-aneruysmal SAH on December 1, 2007. Like yourself this was a very hard time to get through. Your husband is still very early in recovery. Alot of the symptoms that your husband is going through Jim went through the same. He could not sleep unless he was sitting up in a chair and could not get out of the chair without my help. We feel the same way about the doctor's not finding an aneruysm that they did cast Jim aside. We were also sent on our merry way without any type of information or advice. Finding BTG was one of the most important things that happened to us in our lives. I do not know how we could have gotten through this without the many people on this site. Karen is such a wonderful person for starting this site to help so many The expected recovery time differs from person to person. Jim still today gets very tired and needs to rest each day for a couple of hours. He did have an extensive bleed. There are things that he cannot do today that he was able to do before but he has come along way in the year and 9 months that has passed. One of the questions you were wondering about was your husband's vision. Jim did have issues with that also. I am sure it was due to the bleed. It does take time for the blood to dissolve. If you have certain questions that you would like to ask please do. My thoughts and prayers are with you both. Please try to take time for yourself also. I know this is hard to do as I did not do it for myself either but you do need to rest in order to help your husband. Cal XXXX

Hi Michelle, I am so glad you found this site. My husband Jim suffered an SAH in December 2007. We were left with so many unanswered questions until I found BTG. Wonderful, wonderful people on this site who have helped Jim and I in so many ways. Just to know that other people are going through the same things that you are wether it be the person who suffered the SAH or the caregiver has been a tremendous help to us in getting better and realizing there is a light at the end of the tunnel and that some days are better than others. Hi Karen, Jim suffered a non-aneurysm sah December 1, 2007. They stated it was a vessel in the back of his head. He still gets very tired easily. He has lost the job that he once loved due to not being able to complete the tasks that were assigned to the job. He still needs to sleep everyday for at least a couple of hours. His muscles are not what they were in his legs leaving him to be stiff a lot of the time. His memory is not what it use to be but, his spirits are good and he has a wonderful therapist that is helping him so much. He also has me to keep him going! Cal XXXX

Hi Rod, I totally agree with Elaine. It does get better. My husband Jim suffered a non-aneurysm SAH in December of 2007. Seeing someone you love so much so sick is so hard. Take each day at a time, let your emotions flow. Remember to take care of yourself also. I am glad you have your daughter to talk to. Believe me it is hard to think of yourself right now but you need to be well to take care of Merrill. Merrill is very early in recovery and time will make her better. Hi Everyone, Hope you are all well. Sorry I have not been on the site for awhile. My Dad got very ill and passed away within 2 weeks. I have not been able to do much of anything. But now I want to join in again to this wonderful site. I know I had told you about Jim's boss wanting him to shovel snow ect. Well, they terminated his position. They told him he was not able to do the work and that it was a full time position. He asked them if they could hire someone to work the other half of the day but they would not. What bothers me most is the way they did it. They did not tell him, "I am sorry we have to do this" They just gave him a letter stating he was done in a month. The reason they wanted him to stay for the extra month was to train someone!!! He has applied to Social Security Disability so we will see what happens. I think it is good because now he can rest more. He still tires very easily. Take care, Cal XXXXX

Hi Caroline, It has been 14 months since Jim has his sah and weak legs are one of his biggest issues. He does find however if he stretches them before getting out of bed in the morning it is somewhat better. Cal XXXX
