  5. Compostc congratulations on your Ninth SAH  Anniversary.

Good to hear lockdown has helped eliminate a lot of your triggers and that a video about sensory overload helped you to work out making life easier. I did as you did, pushed to the limits, but soon realised when i did push to hard too fast i would go one step forwards, two steps backwards!

Here is to your much happier stress free life :)

    Thanks for sharing.

    Take care

  6. Hi Janeece :)

Lovely to hear from you, but sorry to hear you are having problems sometimes with numbness and a little pain in your head and neck. The first two years of recovery for me, i did get some numbness, pain and also strange creaking noises inside my head and ears. I went to be checked and was told this was all part of mending after my surgery and bleed.

If you have not been checked out i would definitely make an appoinment just for peace of mind that all is ok. Even 13 years later i still get some nerve pain sometimes around my eye and side of face/head where i have metal plates from my craniotomy. This happens when i over do things or get tired.

Wishing you well with your recovery. Keep in touch and let us know how you are doing.

    Take care

  7. Hi Beagle

A very warm welcome to BTG.

So very sorry to hear about your Dad, such a worrying stressful time for you and family. It is very early days in his recovery and sometimes it just takes time for everything to re connect. His brain has been through a major trauma let alone with all the other things he has had going on.

Does he respond when you speak to him? Hold his hand? I read somewhere that also playing his favourite music can help.

Its reassuring that the Drs are keeping a close eye on things.

Wishing your Dad well with his on going recovery. Please keep us updated and remember to look after you too.

    Take care

    Tina

  8. Hello DaVinc1 :)

A very warm welcome to BTG. Your English is amazing !

So very sorry you have had to go through all this and so young, bless you. As Dan & Kathy have said in their lovely responses to you, dont give up. Where there is life there is hope. Sending hugs to you.

Sometimes they never find a cause. I really hope you get some answers soon. Stress can cause all kinds of problems to your health. Can you avoid what was stressing you so badly ? I am glad your faith is giving you comfort.

Have you tried mindfulness to try and relax, it has helped a lot of members here with their recovery. Here is a link to some posts that may help you:

The lovely Super Mario has suggested above and found you the number, please call the Samaitans as talking really helps too.

Take good care and rest up as much as you can.

  9. Hi Karissa :)

A very warm welcome to BTG.

Some really helpful posts above from Dan, Rory and Sami.

Its still very early days for you and all that you are feeling and going through is totally normal. You are doing really well :)

It is a life changing event that turns your whole life upside down. You go from feeling so grateful to be alive to frustration you are not the person you used to be. It is also very hard for your loved ones too. Be kind to yourself and take one step at a time. I was scared to go outside on my own at first, mine happened out of the blue as i was walking up my drive. I was totally healthy in everyway and such a shock. Thank goodness my lovely husband was in at the time.

Things do get better with time and it gets easier to accept 'the new you' :)

As Sami has said BTG is a Godsend with all its caring support and information. So pleased you found us. We look forward to hearing more from you.

    Wishing you well, take care,

    Tina xx

  10. Hi Batman Dan :)

Just wanted to welcome you to BTG. Sorry for late response.

    Absolutely loved reading your thread.

Wishing you well with your recovery. You have a great attitude to life. When you are a go getting doing person it is very hard to take things slowly. I pushed too hard and went backwards. Learnt my lesson and now pace myself.

    Things will get better :)

    Take care

    Tina :)

  11. Congratulation on your 7 year Anni-versary ! Thank you so much for sharing. Sorry for my late response.

Sending much love, we are always here for you, good days and bad days .

    Take care

    Love Tina xx

  12. Hi Adam

A very warm welcome to BTG, so glad you found us.

How very scary for you and your family not being able to be with you because of Covid !

I was told 6 months to a year for recovery from a ruptured aneurysm that was clipped. Totally unrealistic.

You are right, everyone is different in their recovery. Some great advice from Sarah and Sami. Rest lots and drink plenty of water. I also got very anxious and had panic attacks. My GP arranged for me to have counselling, it did help.

The fatigue is something is still struggle with nearly 14 years later. Listen to your body and pace yourself.  Sometimes i found i went one step forward to go two steps backwards if i pushed too hard to quickly.

Wishing you well with your recovery and we look forward to hearing more from you.

Feel free to also join in the daily banter in the Green Room.

    Take care

    Tina :)

So very sorry no one replied to your first post, i know how much courage it took me to post first time. Big hugs xx Again so very sorry xx

I am pleased to read that you are going to have a telephone appointment next month and hopefully you will know more about what they plan for the next step. Must be awful for you, all the waiting! Agree with Clare, make sure you write down all your questions so you dont forget anything you want to ask.

Sarah, Poppy and Lorraine have had a re coiling and have shared their experiences in the link below:

Hope this may help. Click on the link below and scroll down the thread xx
