Hi Topsy,
So sorry you are feeling so depressed and tearful at the moment. Sending hugs and positive vibes your way.
Bless you, with all that has happened to you again so recently, its not surprising you feel this way.
If you are worrying about taking the antidepressants make an appointment and speak to your Neurologist or GP for peace of mind.
Take care & let us know how you are doing.

Hi Kimberly
A very warm welcome to BTG
Firstly, a huge well done to you for getting back to work.
Brain fatigue/fog is something many of us suffer from, it is so hard sometimes to gauge your limits. Your brain soon tells you when to stop and slow down.
You are doing the right thing by resting up and listening to your body. For me, the fatigue is always there, i have just learnt the signs and how to manage my limits better over the years. Mind you, still catches me out sometimes
Have you been to see your Dr about regulating heat & cold? They may be able to refer you to someone that can help?
Look forward to hearing more from you.
Take care

Hi Palhuc
A very warm welcome to BTG
It is very good to read your hubby has turned a corner and recovering fast.
I really hope he learns the swallow test and gradually builds up his strengh to walk again soon.
Everyones recovery is different, but all the signs are positive. Some recover very quickly, others it takes a lot longer.
5 months is still very early in recovery, so your hubby is doing well
I hope you are doing ok and remembering to look after you too?
Take care & let us know how you are both doing.

Hi Kinda
A very warm welcome to BTG !
At 4 months you are still in the early stages of recovery and as Casey says listen to your body, pace yourself and rest up plenty.
Drinking water certainly helps with the headaches as Jess has explained.
A phased return to work often helps to find your limits and what you can and cant cope with in the early stages. I dont know if this is something you can do in your line of work? Gradually build up the amount of work you take on. Your body is definitely telling you when you have pushed too much.
Go steady and and let us know how you are doing.
Take care

Hi Liz
A very warm welcome to BTG, so glad you found us. Some great advice from Clare above.
I had an SAH and had all the symptoms you are having too.
It is scary but things will get better. Listen to your body and be kind to yourself. It just takes time and getting to know your limits.
Its great you have your wife, sister & dogs around to support you. It is such a very worrying time for them too.
You will find lots of helpful information here and friendly caring support
Feel free to ask any questions and to join in the daily banter in the Green Room in the members area.
As Clare says, you are not alone you have us now
Take care and we look forward to hearing more from you.

Hi a very warm welcome to BTG.
I really hope you hear soon from the DVLA, it does take time. As Subs says above, keep chasing them.
At 6 months after my craniotomy i still had head pain. Especially if i bent down, it was awful.
As everything was mending and knitting back together, I felt very sharp twinging pains, also felt like something was crawling around my head, very strange sensations !
Things did improve over time, apart from down the right side of my face, eye and side of head, where i have nerve damage and metal plates. The cold weather really aggrivates.
Please feel free to join in the daily banter in the Green Room and also the Brain Games. We are a friendly bunch .
Look forward to hearing more from you.
Take care
Tina.

Hi
A very warm welcome to BTG.
So glad you managed to get to somewhere you knew to direct the ambulance services....how scary !
Well done on getting back to work so soon, but i do agree with the others, that it seems very quick after such a major trauma to your brain from the bleed.
I was given some great advice from Karen who created BTG....she said be kind to yourself and listen to your body. When you are feeling irritable slow down and take a break. Your brain is working over time trying to repair at the same time as functioning as normal.
Did you start a phased return to work? Most find this gently eases them back into work with less stress.

Cat, you are in the very early stages of recovery and just taking it one day at a time is the very best way.
Pace yourself and listen to your body and drink plenty of water.
I think we all have good days and bad days, its only natural after going through such a life threatening trauma.
So pleased you found BTG
We look forward to hearing more from you.
Take care

Hi Tim
A very warm welcome to BTG. So glad your partner found us.
I think that many of us are so grateful to be alive and concentrating on getting better in the first few months/years. Then it all hits you, how your life may have changed and what you and your family have all been through.
Going to see your Dr was a very good thing and I agree with the others, let your Dr know how you are doing. Also maybe ask about some counselling, i found it very helpful to be able to talk to someone away from family and friends. I did have to wait over 6 months, but it did help.
Keep coming back here, you will find lots of helpful information and friendly caring support for both you and your partner . Feel free to join in the daily banter in the Green Room and the Brain games.
Take care

Hi Mindy
A very warm welcome to BTG. Glad you found us.
Thank goodness they finally did a CT scan, so often we are mis diagnosed !
To answer your question, in the early days I used to have very vivid dreams and also used to twitch and sometimes jolt myself awake.
You are as you say in the very early stages of recovery and your brain is working over time to recover from the bleed.
Make a note of all the things you are unsure of or worrying about and take the list with you to your check up in a couple of weeks..
Try and rest up as much as you can and drink plenty of water.
You have certainly come to the right place to find lots of helpful information and lots of friendly caring support
Take care Mindy and let us know how you are doing.

Hi Luke
Thoughts are with you. It must be so very hard for you and your Dad to see your poor Mum go backwards like this, but its for a way forward to a permanent solution.
As Paul has said, it is very early days after her craniotomy and recovery will be slower.
Your Mum is a fighter, she has proved that by doing as well as she has and also has the wonderful caring support of you and your Dad.
Sending lots of positive vibes your way & wishing your Mum a speedy recovery.
Remember to look after yourselves too and let us know how you are all doing.
Take care
