  1. Hi Merrill had anteria communcating artery clipped and basilar tip coiled and 19 months on she still has balance problems and her feet drag at time she uses a stick and a chair when we go out as she also tires very quickly and get the need to sit down quite often, as for the doc saying that there might be something else going on thats something i've heard quite a lot. Merrill also had a shunt fitted and the doc says that should have nothing to do with her balance problems .Rod
  2. Hi all hav'nt had time to read all the replies but from something which was said along the way i was of the understanding that doctors fully accept that there is a genetic connection, and i was also of the understanding that if 2 or more of your family had, had an sah then you should talk to your doc. Rod.
  3. Hi Kelvin just to say welcome to the site sound s as though you are doing fine now Good luck Rod
  4. Hi Pamela, sorry to hear of your probs, my wife was very much like you, waking during the night and very anxious,as have been said it is very early days and you are doing well to be posting. Merrill my wife still has anxiety attacks 19 months later but they are nowhere near as bad as they were and sleep patterns most of the time are ok, we realised sometime later that when she wakes during the night that her anxiety at night was caused by the bad hearing she has been left with and once she got hearing aids (even though she does not wear them at night) the night time anxiety settled down a bi, also she spoke to the doc about the anxiety and he prescribed her something for it,which has deffinatley helped. Good luck Rod
  5. Hi when Merrill had her Angio last year (another due 12th October) the doc came to look at her just before discharging her and her groin and leg and part of her stomache was as red as Santas suit, He said "good heavens if thats still red like that tomorrow take her to see the gp, we then left and when merrill got in the shower at home it all washed off, it must of been something they used to steralise the area, does'nt really fill you with confidents does it

  22. Hi Maggie, and welcome to the site, my wife had her,sah in march 2009 she suffered with headaches for only about 4 weeks, and since then if she's had a couple of headaches thats it, Merrill my wife had other complications and still has very poor short term memory mobility problems, she has chronic fatigue and 14 months later still hardly ever get through the day without a couple of hours lay down in the afternoon, but it is different for everyone as you said and some people get the same problems but for different reasons so if you have a problem it's always wise to talk to your gp, but just to be posting you seem to be doing very well. 25. Hi John well done on reaching your 6 months, Merrills memory is very poor she seems to forget whole periods of time, 4 days in Yorkshire she lost completly, although she will remember bits of it if i prompt her, and last week she said to me when we were out shopping that she must get a hat as the sun had been burning her head, although she never mentioned it at the time. You seem to be doing very well John and long may it continue, Best wishes Rod
