Hi Lyn, You will get there and I had ringing in ears now I hardly notice it unless I get upset. I cannot take others problems anymore which is a good thing as I was no good at giving advice lol. Jill, Mine happened in 2009 and I had 1 normal day and I know my brain is getting better as I don't get the hump as quickly as I did. (Liar Win) lol not as much then !!! Still get humpy days when I say why me. but I think about the man who used to make our sheet metal for us, and he never made it after his SAH ...So I am sorry for him, but thankful I came back and hugged my Daughter and we both cried. Our brains are healing all the time okay we have down days but honestly we will get there, a new version of us but alive and well xx Good luck Win xxxxxx (apart from my walking) !!! lol xxxxxx

Claudette, Let them know (them being stewards ) and you might get upgraded or preferential treatment, or at desk !! What I mean is tell everyone what you have been through lol xx you never know xx We got upgraded once to New York. Year 2001 for New Year and when they went "Upper class passengers please" I stood up and was such a snob lol anyone would have thought I'd paid for it, but it was an experience I'll never forget. Me again Jill lol xxxx My surgeon told me not to stress as it is bad for us, say it non stop as my Sis is really lovely but I had to tell her to stop telling me her tales of woe as I needed happy around me. felt guilty but I used to cry after she rang me and off loaded her problems. So I told her that my brain doesn't work like it used to I need happy and no problems, which she finds hard !! She is getting there though bless her. Eyesight got worse but got stronger glasses. My Surgeon told me no stress as it is bad for us, hence the singing and chocolates. I have a coil and shunt, been taken off hospital list so I see Doc if anything wrong and he will phone Hospital and so on. My Hubby says the insurance for me is steep or is he tight lol Cannot sit in Sun anymore so need to go somewhere peaceful for my first holiday and build up ie Britain and local. Just to gain confidence. Regards Win

Points to all on BTG, over there Jan. Seriously once you can start being left alone which for me is heaven unless I feel giddy or rough.(want it both ways lol) You start to enjoy being you again, and realise how ill we have been and also lucky we are to be here. It is a long haul and there are times I feel so rough, then I find singing and thinking of happy times helps me through it. People say to me "Why you in a wheelchair, what happened?" When I was out of it I saw my brother sing to me and my Mum was sending me back by telling people not to talk/sing to me. Dream maybe ? Hi Nicola, I was afraid I would die as I used to get my funeral songs I wanted (Wins Funeral will be called Win in Concert) sung at my death. How morbid is that lol. Then my Daughter showed me this site that had helped her and I found so many people who had what I had and they managed to laugh and joke about it, I started to laugh again and sing off key. You do not depress us Ian as we have all been there and we all need to let it out (what's bothering us). Now onto music hmm next 100 years will do for me I'll be the oldest swinger in Town lol if not already !! No comments. Now you sure you don't like any old songs as my Brothers used to sing in pubs and at the Players Theatre in the 60's so I was thinking more of 60's songs and Barbershop quartet lol. Was bought up on some songs with rude words so can't sing them !! lol. Keep the music in your head and try a smile every so often when you feel down do this Ready? I read if you smile a negative thought cannot get by you so here we go and you must try it just for me please. Okay here we go Ian start by turning up corners of mouth towards the eyes/temples now wait until you feel a smile break through You may feel a fool but who cares ready up the corners go and feel a silly grin cover your face. I do understand how you must be feeling as when I came on here, I used to think "uh oh next step is my funeral" that was 6 years ago. As Super has said get help and advice or ask Doc if he/she knows anyone you can talk to about it. In the meantime talk to us and keep typing your troubles and give vent on here it all helps. In the meantime I wish you all the best and keep your chin up when possible xx also be as bleak as you want but promise me a song once in a while xx CarolynUSA and I will sing first. Hi Ian, I've not replied earlier as I kept messing up. Anway I will tell you my story if it makes you feel a bit better all well and good xx I had SAH in 2009 and remember nothing apart from dream like happenings because of Ventriculitis, followed by Sepsis and in 2010 I had a shunt fitted, that's when I woke up from my dreamlike state. My Daughter found BTG and it helped her while I was in hospital and it has helped me no end. Walking is hard but after being told "what makes you think you will walk again" 4 steps 10 steps all help. Plus my other name is weight gain Win lol xx All what people have already said ie water etc. is worth taking note of. My Surgeon said to me when I went back to hospital for my final MRI "No stress whatsoever" so I sing and surround myself with as much happiness as I can. It works for me but everyone is different. Now get well and smile when possible, I wish you all the best and a song goes "you gotta accentuate the positive, eliminate the negative". Not taking the mick or anything Jan but life changing events for me are "What shall I have for lunch" you see making a decision was so hard for me when I first came around. (Ventriculitis didn't help) I used to ask my hubby everything and I must have got on his nerves after a time. Now I make a decision yeahhh!! but no life changing ones apart from wanting to move back to north of the River Thames. I mean Essex. lol I want to be nearer to my Family as I appreciate how good they were to me and how much I Love them xx Whoo a pig flew overhead.(As it will never happen). Love Win xxxxxx
