  1. Hi again Victoria, I have laughed with all on here and been a pain in the butt typing on others posts, singing a song you name it I have done it on here. They BTG/ Family stuck by me and gradually found I needed to sing and laugh to get through it, and as Michelle has just put about her Partner, how they want us to be better sooner than our brain is ready to let us get back to some normality !! (I was never normal) !! Serious though, do what suits you in your own time and you will get there. God Bless you and keep moving forward and sing xx Win xxxx
  2. I went to an optician before my SAH, he was Canadian and he told me I had a wonky disk in my eye ? So gave opticians letter to my Doc who said he did not know what he meant. Good Doc I have lol. Anyway a year later I had my SAH and to this day, I wonder if them dismissing the opticians letter was a warning to me ? But back to my eyesight, it is getting worse and worse also xx We have a big TV and do you think I can see what writing says at bottom of screen. Hold a menu close to my face ha ha xxxx Good luck All wherever you are xxxx cant see a thing xxxxx joking although it is nothing to joke about xxx !! Win in serious mode xx See a proper optician xxx
  3. Hi Victoria, I am no longer the woman I once was, instead of arguing back I cry lol. but I find it easier to be happy than waste my life worrying as I find being happy is less stressful than wanting to growl at them like this Grrrrr !! lol xx I sing when I feel down and music cheers me up, poor family as I'm tone deaf. We understand what you are going through. Stress is bad for us so we need happiness around us xx I cannot walk very far and hubby is a moaner when he has to take wheelchair out lol But getting better but have off days like we all do so listen to Win. Ready? Only talk to people who do not moan or tell you sad things. Keep thinking happy thoughts morning and evening and when family get to you have a sleep xx Good luck and I hope all goes well Win xxxxxxxxxx Plus hubby has a boat also !! How am I supposed to be wheeled over the wooden gang plank wobble wobble ha!
  4. My Daughter used to squeeze my hand to do exercises on it, my Sisters sung to me and I remember nothing. But I woke up singing an Irish song they used to sing to me xx Keep talking to her even if you think she isn't with it, she is in there still xx Or sing xx Good luck to you and Mum xxxx Win xxxxx
  5. Hi Robert, Glad to see all is going well with you. I did think about you over hols, then went to Wales and wasn't fit for man nor beast. Too much travelling in 2 days !! Glad to hear all is going well with you and family. Belated Happy New Year and may you go from strength to strength. Keep a smile at hand it helps "wink" (that's me telling you to be strong so wink = chin up) ha ha x
  6. Do you think it could be to do with the lumber injections we had ? Base of spine and so on ?? We all have had some pains and I still get them 7 years on nearly hmm !! just a thought. Be well all Win and hands a smile around to all with back aches
  7. I had real bad back pains and Doc gave me injections for Sciatica which helped the bad pains but I have ongoing pains when I walk over 200 yards and it is stopping me walking, Did not help that a new OT came in and bent my legs until they cracked. I felt every bone in my hips crack. She was one young girl who didn't know what she was doing, she came 4 days and 1 of those days she never turned up and 1 day she had kids with her and had to rush. So in 2 days she told our Doc I was up and walking. Good when you get a miracle worker ..not !! Good luck All xxxxx Misery Win xxxxx lol
  8. Hi Sharon, Hubs is more than likely feeling vunerable at the moment but he shouldn't take it out on you !! He has realised that he is not invincible. When I woke up after being in Dreamland for an age I started to prepare for my funeral as I thought this is it lol xx I joke but it 's scary when you find that you could have died as I had Ventriculitis, UTI, Sepsis and still struggle to walk. I got back ache real bad and it stops me walking xx All I can say is talk to him, I found singing happy songs cheered me up. He has to learn there is life after a SAH. You have been scared witless also. Get him out the house even if it's for a coffee decaff !! All the Best Win xx xx Tell him to type on here as he will see there are others also and we are still living xxxx Good luck
  9. Sophie, You sound scared enough but get it sorted, at least for your peace of mind. While you are worrying about this your stress level is rising. You know it makes sense to go to hospital. Good luck Win xx
  10. Sophie, Ask them to not play about and ask if they can bring it forward as stress is bad for us xx Better to be safe than sorry Good luck xx
  11. It is good to know Subs has helped you xx He will appreciate it as he was on the other end of it, watching his wife go through what we have gone through. Glad all went well for Christmas Robert, and keep the good work up. Keep that smile at hand also and if you tire just have a sleep. Be Well and keep typing xx Win xx
  12. Hi Robert, Glad you are on an upper and not a downer, a trouble shared as the saying goes !! So good to know we are not alone in this, and we all understand what each other is struggling against. I'll make it short and just pass a silly grin on to you. Yes I've always had this daft smirk so stop taking micky lol Win xx Had any water today ???
  13. Welcome to BTG Robyn, As I always say "My Surgeon told me Stress is bad for us" so less stress will be good for you xx You must not listen to others problems while getting over this and calm is order of the day. Keep in a happy frame of mind and rest when needed xx Take care of yourself, drink water and here is a smile to keep you going on down days, as I read when you smile you cannot feel miserable or down as a smile overtakes all troubles. I have tried this and it works with me. A real smile about good times when you laughed so much you cried. Hands a pretend smile to Robyn xx Wishing you all the best Win Shewhowearssillygrin xxxx Ha xx
  14. Merry Christmas Robert and have a good one xx Smile as often as possible and sing happy songs (easy for me to say but it works for me) Now I do not know but my Pal Carolyn from USA is gonna sing/type some songs, I hope and know she can cheer us up xx So be of good cheer and get ready to sing and look out for CarolynUSA xxxx Be Happy Win xxxx
  15. Hi Again Robert, I hope you, wife and baby have a good Christmas, and all goes well for you xx Now keep typing when you need to talk to someone as there is always someone here for us. If not I'll just blabber away lol. Now get stuck into book, I found my concentration had gone and didn't enjoy reading as much as I used to. I kept reading over the same lines !! So I sing instead..my poor family. Good luck and enjoy Christmas xx When tired just have a lay down. Hark at me telling you how to live !!! Take Care and I'll shut up Best Wishes to you and Family Win x
  16. Hi Jennifer, I was so scared when I awoke after having shunt put in. That was before I found this site, well my Daughter did and it helped her and it has helped me no end also. To know you aren't the only one and life still goes on. Look at us on here, we have all been through it and have come out the other end. We can still laugh and rant on here if needed, I look upon this site as my safe haven. I was so scared when I found out what had happened to me, as I did not remember a thing. So we are the ones who made it so be of good cheer or else I'll sing to you lol..not a pleasant sound. Good luck Win xx
  17. I used to be all doom and gloom until I came on here and I had mine in 2009 but shunt woke me up in 2010 !! All the people on here were happy and laughing and then I realised, there is a life after an SAH xx I agree with Casey Helen let's get as many as we can behind us and always have a smile at the ready, as I read somewhere when you smile sadness cannot push it's way in. Now I look a fool but feel Great. Happy Anni'versary past and yet to come xx No Stress xxxx Love Win
  18. Maya, Have a good Christmas and try not to let it spoil Christmas xx (it is okay for me to say it)!! At least you know they are watching it and whatever happens we have had it also Tina with her clipping and just look at her now xx Me with my coiling oops better not look too close to me ha xx Good luck and as Tina said but in my words keep in touch and any time you feel down come on here and type what is worrying you. It helps so much this site xx xx Win xxxxxx
  19. Hi Maya I had coiling and as Tina said it is less invasive, I have platinum (I think) coils in my head. Eyesight has got bad since SAH but then it could be my age ugh 70 no 71 now omg I am an oldun. Was 63 nearly 64 when I had my coiling done, I do not remember a thing phew lol !! Worth a few bob now ha xx Good luck on whatever procedure you have, but on here you get those who were clipped and then others who were coiled. If you get worried just come on here and talk it out, I had an itchy and hot head but that was my shunt scar as I had hydrocephalus. Bathed head in salt water as my family swear by it. Keep Well and I have heard a smile can stop you feeling sad, now how true this is I do not know but glad I had a real fun Mum who always made me smile, fond memories of us getting in trouble xx Love Win xxxx

    Myra

Hi Myra, Easy does it, and drink water as others have said. You will get there but it is a long haul so rest up and relax and no Stress !!! My Surgeon told me that one xx We have a lot saying "We were discharged without knowing what happens next" So join the club, my husband had a male nurse who worked with the surgeon he could call. So when he got worried he'd call on the nurse. I think we need a link after being discharged as there is a loophole there . Keep singing and smiling and do not overdo it (sing when head feels better xx) Good luck Win xxxxxxxxxxx
  21. Debs, Weather can make your head feel bad as me and Daffs have spoken about it, I call it my barometer head and when the weather is overcast the pressure builds up and you feel like your head will go again. Still see/speak to someone in case and even if it puts your mind at rest, you will have peace of mind. Good luck and hope head feels better soon xx Love Win xx
  22. Maya, Let us know how it went when you feel up to it xx Hope all is well with you and everything went to plan xx Love Win
  23. Hi Debs, Have you had stress recently, as when my family tell me there tales of woe's since SAH I cannot take their problems, and then I get a bad head and I mean all stressed out and teary. I have to tell them I cannot take it. Hope you feel better soon and all what Clare said xx Many times I've had a good rant on here and just putting it down makes me feel better. Sometimes I have typed with tears falling. Get head sorted and to know it is a headache and nothing else will calm your fears and no fears, no stress !! Good luck and hope headaches go, but see someone who knows about headaches and understands you ie speak to someone who knows your history xxx Good luck
  24. All what Super said and check the date is correct !! Like 9th December.2016 Friday and watch out for Keith's jokes for Christmas build up !! Good luck hope you feel better Win x Roger over and out. lol oops Graham
