Hi Jen, When I woke up and found what had happened to me, SAH, Ventriculitis and Sepsis. I was so sure I was on my last legs until I found Behind the Gray alias BTG. This site has helped not only me but my Daughter also. I found so many people who had a bleed and to know you aren't the only one really helps. My Surgeon said no stress so I sing, drives everyone potty, but I am alright Jack lol. Does he go out at all as my Husband took me out to cafe's for a break and that was when I couldn't sit up properly, I'd slope to one side lol He knew what would cheer me up "Going Out" then I had a shunt fitted for Hydrocephelus in 2010. Now we can sit here feeling sorry for ourselves as I did, but coming on here was the best thing I ever done as I wasn't alone anymore. Surgeon told me never to stress so I sing and it goes down well !! Get hubby to come on here and let him know he isn't the only one as it helps xxxx Good luck to you Both Winb143 xxxx

Well Ian, You don't let the grass grow under your feet lol, glad you seem happier and also as I have said, it's good to know there are others here who can understand how you feel. So keep informing us on how you are doing, sounds like you are doing VERY well lol . Put me to shame lol ..I was going to walk around a supermarket and make it my aim as I wont get an electric one or I'll never walk, also scared I might hit someone lol xx Keep happy and remember we will have great days and some rough days. Now we have each other on BTG watch your troubles diminish as a trouble shared is a trouble halved I have come on here all down and left laughing, of course the family think I have lost the plot lol but a good laugh can help us feel so much better. I had implant as the pills / Epanutin made my gums shrink, hence teeth have gaps and some just fell out, I paint a pretty pic of myself ha Hope to see you in Green room for every day chit chat soon xx Be Well All. I was in Kings my Surgeon was Mr Daniel Walsh xx I remember nothing from when I passed out until I had shunt fitted a year later as Hydrocephelus was bad. Also had ventriculitis and Sepsis, So in a way glad I remember nothing just odd snatches of memory like telling people where to get off lol Bet I was a horrid patient lol xxx Glad you are here to speak about it, and every day you'll get better but look back over weeks/months and see how far you have come on xx Love Win xxxx I can remember nurses hitting me (not) but I was having a fit lol, the mind plays tricks !! all I remember is lots of nurses around me. Poor nurses xx

Hi Georgia Gal, I have had epilepsy since puberty, they got less and less but since my bleed the epilepsy has become stronger and they are horrid things to have. Lots have to give their license back but get it back after a period of time. I had my bleed in 2009. age 63/64. (young un lol) Get your medication right first and Good luck on your recovery xx Epilepsy is scary and I was okay up until Docs said I needed a higher dose and I told them no I haven't had a fit for 6 years, they insisted and I felt like a zombie so they took me off them without slowly lowering them and I had a fit !! My first after 6 years !! I was devastated. even though I had them since 14. Hope you get better and better with each day that passes and any worries or to just give vent, BTG is the place to be/come. My Surgeon told me never stress so to stop stressing I sing !! Drives family potty lol and that's when you know you are getting better as the "pampering you" stops ha. Good luck and keep a smile nearby it really helps xxxxx All the Best Winb143 xx

It is Karen you are right. Us woman seem to find it easier to talk about things, not all men but some hold it back. Mind saying that, I have become an SAH bore and I see the glazed look lol come over peoples faces ha ha xx I tell everyone about BTG and how good it is and how it helped me so much. I am Subsy pal who I found trawling the internet one day and trying to help his wife. You Carers go through it, my advice to Subzero was join BTG and take Mrs Subs out for a coffee, he hasn't stopped since lol xx Once your hubby gets out and about and remembers places and has a silly treat he will start feeling like he is back. I remember before shunt was put in my family looked sad so as we went through doors I said "open Sesame" that was me trying to cheer them up. These were early days for me and I couldn't hold myself upright. They said I wont ever walk again 4 steps at first then onwards and upwards with my Families help. When I saw my nieces who were my bridesmaids many moons ago they asked me "Who am I Win ?" I needed thinking time so I said hold on and said when I came back I named them!! phew but I needed to say to myself my Freddie and Barneys kids and they are called ..and said names to myself. Your hubby will get there eventually, my Daughter had a book for me and she made me look at pics and say what was next to the plane etc . My Hubby told me I wont remember things so I said my name to myself, Family and 9 Brothers and Sisters and thought, that's all I need to know. lol Hubs will get there eventually just keep him stress free ..hard but it helps xx Good luck Both WinB143 xx

Listen to your body Jimble. If you feel shattered then rest up or try and think of happy times if possible. Never overdo things and take care and no Stress whatsoever, hard but I sing when down. Poor Family !! Keep Well and keep typing any worries you have xxxx Keep well Win xx

Feel for you Jan, but when I was having just a shunt put in the Surgeon said if it was his wife he'd give her the chance. Hubby was scared of me going under again. Speak to people and ask Surgeon what if it was his/her Partner, what would they do? Good luck and I hope you make the right decision for you and family. But mainly you !!! xxxx xxxx. What about the new pills/drugs out? Good luck ( I couldn't make a decision ever, anyway ) Clipping is less invasive I think, but they might bring something out new and modern.

Hi Jimble, Sorry to hear about 2nd one and panic/anxiety attacks. It is easy for us to sit and type to you but you are the one going through this. I hope the anxiety soon goes and you get help as my daughter gets panic attacks and her mouth dries up and she feels like she cannot swallow. She always has mints to make saliva which seems to help and water, she had one yesterday so we stopped and chatted and she had some mints and she said " I'm okay now Mum" I still made her wait a while ..so bossy. Like Super, Jan, I cannot walk all that far so really I am tied to home, whereas before my Hubby had his own business and I worked with him. I woke to find that he'd closed the firm and I never got my Golden handshake !! lol I miss working but walking is hard and back aches plus I am an oldy now and retired. Hi Nicky, I am glad you found this site as it helped my Daughter while I was in cuckoo land and it has helped me also. Stress is bad for us and life is stressful so I sing to try and combat stress, also I have stopped listening to doom and gloomers as I cannot take others problems anymore. Being the youngest of 10 is hard lol but my family were absolutely brilliant. They sung to me took care of me when OT's gave me no hope of being me again!! I am back and there is life after an SAH/bleed and say they are proud when I take a few wobbly steps and keep me going. Welcome and Good luck on your Journey xxxx No stress remember this one !!! Hi Dory, I have given up a majority of things like Vino and Cigs and I have put on weight as chocs are my new cigs lol xx Glad you made it and Welcome to BTG xxx I was out but remember nothing until they put shunt in after Ventriculitis and Sepsis cleared up. I have coils in also. When I went for my last MRI the surgeon said "all seems well but if you feel ill do not hesitate to tell your Doctor to send you back to us" or words like that !! He also said No Stress so passing it on to you. No Stress !! Now take your time and smile a lot or sing or whatever makes you happy. Just to add one more note to this as I usually do !!! Hubs was told to take BP then wait a minute or 2 and take it again and every time he did this it was lower !! I also told him to give dogs a pat as I know what calms him lol xx (me shutting up) lol Love Win xx

When I came out of Hospital my hubs got me a BP machine, so he tried it on himself to see how it worked and his BP was really sky high. 190 + cannot remember over what We had my Sister staying from Spain and she said to hubs. "I suggest you see Doctor a.s.a.p. as that is higher than mine" she suffers high BP. Healthy lot we are. Doc saw him straight away. I am telling you this as I was worried about him and you need someone to confide in and pass worries on xx pass on = less stress.
