For us, it did not happen like that. In my particular circumstance, I was at the hairdressers, getting ready for a big night when I had my SAH. The weekend before, I was in London, socialising in Camden bars. Eight weeks prior, I ran the Berlin Marathon and had made plans with a friend to return to Berlin in the New Year. In four weeks time, I planned to go to back to London with my boyfriend. Wel I went shopping today AGAIN ...Whats new !! no chocs ! My hubby said he had a call from the Hospital...about my MRI scan....I went "oh yes and"...drrum roll bbbbrrrrrrrmmmmmmmmmm "All okay" said my hubby,, (He's a man of few words) I am the one with short term memory loss but he said..ready? My husbands words!!!!!! "The things are not swollen and no other Anni's showing up" ..I was pleased but said ""what things were swollen Al"...."I dunno" he replied..told you he is a man of few words lol...guess he meant ventriculitis/ventricles ????....Just read this to my hubby he laughed and has told me the tubes or ventricles are not swollen...and gone to do some work with a smile on his face. My Parents always said love yourself first then others will love you.....and if not you can do without them.... I had great Parents who always told me to be true to myself... So I have had SAH I am still l the person I was sort of...!!! (minus a few memory losses ) I swear a lot since SAH I don't like it, but long journeys in cars upset me and I am so scared of lorries....so my language on motorways is so bad, but I guess I am lucky for I have my family who understand me...all of them cousins and all. Apart from language I feel like me ..the old me.... I sing and joke more because I do not want to be down over SAH I will not let it ruin my life or the person I once was... Neil Hi, I come from a big family, My Dad and Brothers always sang in pubs.....Women/Wives always indoors ......and Parties after pubs turned out mainly round Mum and Dads house. When I had my SAH I saw my Mum, Dad and Brother (deceased).....I do not know if I imagined it but it made me happy to hear my brother sing to me while my mum would not talk to me, she kept pointing to my hubby and daughter............My Dad had a net over his face and kept looking at me and saying "Shhhhh dont tell ya Muvver and laughed. I felt so happy to see my family so I cannot feel sad, until I saw my Sarah and hubby Al....I feel so bad for what I put them through. I cannot walk very well but I am getting there...and I feel so happy to see my Husband and daughter the rest of Family again . Keep smiling and things will start looking up ...sing a song ...treat yourself....What I am trying to say is if possible try and have a smile on your face even when you feel down, hard I know, I get down but crying makes my eyes red....lol Hope you feel wonderful soon Neil Regards WinB143 x

Sam, My daughter helped me a lot after SAH...I used to dream she wanted me to squeeze her hand, She was doing excersise with me but I wasn't with it then...Time has moved on and where I couldn't do much for myself...after my shunt I have come on leaps and bounds. Every day you will get stronger......Do things for yourself.(what you are able to) and keep smiling Good luck Sam and sing it makes me happy Regards WinB143

I cannot remember anything until I had shunt fitted...but do not know if I dreamt it but I told someone "How can I drink a lot when my husband is too quick at it ,,,,,,I don't get a look in" Did I say it or not ??? Regards WinB143

My pals say how well I am coming on...I feel lifted, but it has taken from July 2009 to Sept 2010 over a year to remember what happened to me. ..ie why did I get so many germs attack me in hospitals....I asked the Surgeon this,he replied "when you go into the brain you get germs"...so why did they put me in normal ward and not HDU....every time time I went to normal ward I was rushed back to HDU...first with ventriculitus then with Sepsis....Finally with MRSA of the skin.... The only thing that kept me going was my brother singing to me...and me chasing after my parents.... But when I saw my hubby and daughter then I knew I had to go back to them and say bye to my Mum Dad and brother Barney Sorry if this sounds morbid , But I am happy to be alive and with my daughter, husband , brothers and sisters I Love Them All and They Love me..(sometimes as I can be a pain) So if you are down remember We Made It and gissa smile WinB143 xxx

My hubby kept holding my hands away from tube I had up nose.....I only wanted to blow my nose lol My Sis visted me after my return home....Before shunt ...she said I took toast off her plate and put it in my bed..she thought I was hungry so left in my bed....I wonder if I ate it !
