  19. I have very mixed feelings today, sad and grateful for this day even though it's Friday 13th. It's exactly 1 year ago I had my SAH. I am grateful that I survived but also there is sadness in me too, I cannot explain it to anyone. I know every recovery is different and we all lead different lives and SAH effects us all in different ways too, as some of you might of mentioned in other posts we are all clever by saying that "everything is fine and I am ok" but that is not always the case. I don't talk to my family about how I feel because I don't want them to think that I have SAH on my mind 24/7which I don't but the effects of SAH have left its mark on me. I know some of you have done really well and when I read the progress you have made I feel hopeful that maybe I too can get better even more but at the moment I am still struggling and frustrations are still with me because I really can't do certain things anymore, however, I am still going to stay positive and carry on. I would like to thank all members of BTG who have supported me during this year, this website has helped me so much and the most important thing for me is that I have made caring and loving friends. God bless Myra xx
  20. Thanks everyone for your advice, John, I think I should see my GP before taking any exercises as my health at the moment is really not good. I hope you are feeling better now? Take care Myra xx
  21. Welcome to BTG Philomena It takes time for recovery after what we have been through but with the help and support here you will find it easier to cope, it certainly has helped me with my ongoing recovery still after 1 year on Friday. I look forward hearing from you some more. Myra xx
  22. Hi Jac I did what Paul suggested, I imagined that I was on the beach, nice thoughts of other things. It was noisy for me but I know that it is good to have it done, that way they can see what is going on with our brain. Hope it goes well for you on Friday. Myra xx
  23. A warm welcome to BTG This is a wonderful website for your questions to be answered. Like Tina and Janet have already mentioned tell us a little bit more about yourself. When did you have your SAH? I look forward hearing more from you. Myra xx
  24. I have already lost 10lbs since January through sensible eating and I feel that I can do even better if some form of exercise is introduced in my diet. The main problem is that after doing any short form of any exercises I get extremely tired, the dizziness gets worse and the balance and the nausea to the point where I have actually vomitted. I tried walking but with my weak leg I find it difficult. I have bought a wii fit but that causes so much tiredness too. I love to go swimming but I can't swim. Before the SAH I used to go to the gym and used the power plate but I will be too scared to use that now because of the other aneurysm. I know some of you go to the gym, any tips that you can give to help me get myself motivated to exercise and reach my ideal weight. Myra xx
  25. A warm welcome to BTG Mandy Good to hear that you are recovering well, and I do understand about the effects of tiredness and headaches. My SAH was in March 2008 and still trying to recover. Feel free to ask any questions and we will try to answer. Myra xx
