  2. Hi Celia Glad everything went well for you, remember to take it easy and rest up whenever you can. Take care.
  3. Hi Jackie Welcome to BTG, well done on your courses, I use to do so many courses before my SAH but unfortunately not now I get tired so quickly, it's great to see someone who had a SAH a while ago and is doing well, it gives us hope. Take care and I hope to hear from you soon.
  4. Hi Debbie Welcome to BTG, I look forward hearing from you some more....when you are ready. Take care.
  5. Hi Anders Welcome to BTG, never mind the language, your English is good. I think we all suffer from fatigue and other SAH related problems too so we do understand what you are going through. I also have some relatives living in Oslo and maybe I will be visiting Norway next year if my health allows that to happen Hope to hear from you some more. Take care.
  6. Hi Mel and welcome to BTG family, it's a great place to be. I hope to hear more from you again. Take care.
  7. Hi Ern Welcome to BTG, here you will make friends very quickly. I have flown only once since my SAH although I had a slight pressure it was not so bad, I think a few other people have flown after SAH but I think everyone has different reactions. Hope to hear from you soon. Take care.
  8. Hi and welcome to BTG Sorry to hear about you dad, as Tina and Louise have said it's still early days for him. I too had hydrocephalus and had a shaunt. I don't remember much about the time in hospital either so most of the things were told to me by my son's. I could not remember my own family so it was especially hard for my son's but thank god that was fine after a few days. Each persons recovery is different and how long it takes, just be there for him. When ever you need to talk or need advice you are welcomed here and I am sure that someone will be able to help.
  9. Congratulations to you Jim, hope you keep making good recovery.
  10. Hi Rod Sorry about your loss. I too suffer from high BP and on 5 different medications for that and I also have problems with my ears since the SAH, I have had 2 ear infections already and problems with sound, I was tested and there is definately some loss of hearing in my left ear since the SAH. I also find that my ears are more sensitive in the cold, before I never had to wear a hat but now I do and sometimes even indoors. Take care.
  11. I agree with Janet and Louise, you are not a fraud we do have problems after SAH. Thank god my GP is really good, god knows I need an understanding GP with my problems. Sam try talking to him again and to see it in your point of view, hopefully things work out for you. Take care.
  12. Hi Diane Welcome to BTG, I hope your husband makes a continous recovery and remember to look after yourself too. Take care.

  14. Hi Ali Welcome to BTG, I was in a similar situation as your husband, but it looks as if your hospital is really good. I know from my children that it was a difficult for them to watch me going through all this as I cannot remember but they now look back at that time and feel very grateful that I am here. It's always important that you too take care of yourself and you can always come here to voice your concerns, there is always someone here to help. Take care.
  15. Hi Laanka and welcome to BTG Like Debbie I too had a ruptured aneurysm and one that needs to be treated. I agree that it is not an easy decision to make and only you can decide what is right for you. Good luck for making your decision and we are always here for you when you need any advice or just to talk. Take care.
  16. Hi Celia, I was coiled too and waiting for the ok to have the the second coiling too after my cardiologist gives the ok. It's a hard decision to make, I chose coiling for second aneurysm because it's less evasive than clipping. Are you going to be operated at the Royal Free? I hope everything goes well for you.
  17. Hi Sam Welcome to BTG, I can only add what the others have already said. I look forward hearing from you some more when you are ready. Take care.

Hi Paris and welcome to BTG I can really say what the others have already said, recovery is slow and different for everyone and I am sure with your love and support you both will get through this. Just come here if you need to chat or need advice there is always someone who can help. Take care of yourself too.
  22. Hi Helen and welcome to BTG Thank you for sharing your story, recovery is slow for some and if you need to ask any questions feel free to come and ask.
  23. Thank you Celia for sharing your story. I know what a frightening experience it can be and after reading your story all the things I went through came flooding back to me, we were both at the Royal Free and I still remember the time in HDU, it's something that now seem so far and yet so near. It does take time and recovery is different for everyone, there are days that I feel really down but I sometimes feel like I have to put on a mask for others which is sometimes hard to do. I hope you make a good recovery and knowing that you can always come here for encouragement and inspirations is always good.
  24. Hi Kellie I am on 5 different medications at the moment but the problem with me that my BP flatuates very quickly even with the meds so that is why I have been referred to a Cardiologist. It is important to keep your BP under control especially people who have a SAH and even with another aneurysm.
  25. Hi Tammy I wish my sons would register here and express how they feel too, I think you are brave and a caring person and all carers deserve the help they need when one of their family members suffer from SAH. My sons won't talk about it but everytime I say I don't feel well I can see the concern they have. It is only now that my elder son Asim told me that he collapsed at work when I was in hospital, he felt devastated when I did not regonised him. I am sure Neil appreciates your help and understanding and just like I often do I hug my boys a lot and now I am sending you a virtual hug too. Take care.
