  3. Hi Maggie Welcome to the site we're all very friendly on here and there really is always someone who can answer any questions you may have. Hope the headaches settle down for you soon.
  4. Hi John Your positivity is I'm sure a great help to many reading your post. Looking forward to hearing of your further improvements at 12 months.
  5. Hi Anne Caught this a bit late I also still have cycles of extreme fatigue but have had all the blood test and been checked by an Endocrinologist and there are no underlying causes to the fatigue except possibly pushing myself too hard at times. I only work 20 hours a week now so can generally manage life work balance a bit better just have to try not to overdo do things in general.
  6. Hi Mark Welcome to the site I'm glad that you are finding it useful. As some of the others have already said it is very early on into Annette's recovery as yet. It mut be really difficult for you at the moment and finacial worries must seem to make a bad situation feel a lot worse. I hope that the Criticallife insurance is sorted out quickly for you so at least you have one less thing to worry about. Look forward to hearing how Annette is getting on and please try to make some time for yourself as well.
  7. Glad everything went well remember to get plenty of rest.

    Leon

Hi Leon A warm welcome to you look forward to hearing more from you.
  10. Hi Karen I didn't really know it was a stroke until I joined the site. I did know that my local hospital that I was in for nearly a week before being diagnosed and transferred to Walton, thought that the Third Nerve Palsy was caused by some sort of stroke behind my eye. I really don't think that knowing it was a stroke would have affected my recovery either way.
  11. Good luck Saffy hope all goes well for you will keep my fingers crossed that they have a bed for you this time.
  12. Hi Prue Lovely to see you posting again but sorry to hear you're suffering bad headaches. I have constant headpain on the site of my op which goes from the side of my ear and at its worse all down the left habd side of my head/face. My pain has been put down to neuropathic pain and the Neurosurgeon thinks I may have a trapped nerve causing it. I take a low dose of anti-depressant which does help to ease the nerve pain a little. Will you be seeing your Consultant anytime soon as they maybe able to to give you some clearer answers.
  13. Hi Homer A warm welcome to the site look forward to hearing more from you soon.
  14. Hi Celia And yes I do still get the shooting pains when I cough a lot as you say it is a bit scarey at first but if you're really concerned have a word with your G.P. Hope the nasty bug clears up soon for you.
  15. Hi Sally Welcome to the site we are a very friendly bunch so any questions just ask away always someone who can answer. Look forward to hearing more from you.
  16. Hi Angela Brilliant news that Mark is doing so well tell him not to rush to quickly back to work and to try for a phased return when he is ready.
  17. Hi Zoe I think Sarah has already given you some sound advice in pointing you to the "Brain & Spine foundation. It might also help if you make a list of all the things that are worrying you and arrange to speak to the Doctors looking after Richard. Diduck a warm welcome to you and I think you have done really well getting back to work so soon. The first 12 months can be quite hard and very emotional it takes a while to actually adapt to the person you have become and of course learning to understand when your brain is telling you to slow down. Look forward to hearing more from you and any questions just ask there is always someone around to answer them.
  18. Hi Blueday Don't worry too much about the "Pituitary Gland" its a very small gland with a big job but basically it controls the different hormones produced by the body. Love the inspirational thought for today
  19. Hi Blueday Glad you've got round to telling us a bit more about yourself and it was lovely chatting with you yesterday. Will try to catch up with you on chat again soon but I'm normally around more at the weekends.
  20. Hi Bessie Hoping things go well for your mum at tomorrows appointment.
  21. Hi Lynz Yes I was treated at Walton and like yourself was pretty much pushed out with no real information at all. Walton now have a dedicated SAH Nurse and a support group that apparently has been going for years but I didn't hear about it til last year. We must arrange to meet up some time soon for a natter and coffee
  22. Hi Lynz I'm nearly 3 1/2 years on now and still have problems with concentration and finding the right words. The cotton wool feelings only happen now and again mainly when I'm overtired but I do wake up most mornings with numb and tingling fingers on my left hand.
  23. Hi Dougie Welcome to the site I think Karen has already given you the best piece of advice if you're worried keep pushing your G.P for the referrals you need. Look forward to hearing how you get on.
