  1. Hi Sonia lovely to see you back just remember to get plenty of rest and take things slowly. Debbie I agree with the others its only natural to worry but those worries do get less as time goes on.
  2. Hi Stace So sorry to hear about the loss of your Dad. I hope you can find some comfort from this site.
  3. Hi Jane A warm welcome to the site and you've already said it yourself it is very early on in your recovery so your emotions will be all over the place for a while yet. Short term memory problems and fatigue are very common in the early stages of recovery. Just remember be kind to yourself and rest as often as you need. It is very tempting to try to overdo things that usually results in a few bad days but at the same time we are only human so are very prone to pushing ourselves to the limit and beyond. Take care and look forward to hearing more from you.
  4. Hi Phil Really good to hear that Sharon is still progressing as Jess said shame she can't make the wedding but hopefully in the near future you may be able to have her home for a visit.
  5. Hi Karen I totally agree with you and also tend to live life to the full now. I don't think I'll ever forget but the anxiety and constant fear has now faded. BTG has played a large part in my recovery and acceptance of the new me so as always Karen many many thanks
  6. I found the first year really hard and my head also felt too heavy for my head a lot of the time. Good news iis it does improve with time and only get really painful neck and fatigue if I overdo things. Good luck with your appointment tomorrow and make a list of all the questions you want to ask.
  7. Hi John Hope you can get another appointment with your Neuro-Surgeon soon you really need to discuss the results with him sooner rather than later. Take care and let us know once you eventually have your appointment.
  8. Hi Debbie Welcome to BTG and hopefully you will find it as useful as I always have. The feelings you have at the moment are perfectly normal and headaches and dizzines are par for course in the first few months. Emotions are also closer to the surface so tears and laughter can happen at the drop of a hat. What type of procedure did you have coils or clip???? I was clipped and returned to work after 7 months on a phased return but found it extremely tiring for the first few months. I did try to return to full time hours but after 18 months of increasing finally reduced back to 20 hours as this is the best work/life balance for me now. Wishing you well in your continuing recovery and look forward to hearing more from you.
  9. Hi Di Its really good to hear that you are doing so well and accepting the new you. I think that is one of our greatest hurdles post SAH

  11. Hi Erin Welcome to BTG its lovely to see you posting dispite all your present difficulties and I imagine it must have felt very strange reading about yourself in the third-person. I hope you achieve your walking goal and that your hand/arm start to improve soon. Wishing you all the best with your recovery over the coming months and hope that you are soon at home again with your lovely husband and children. Look forward to hearing more from you when you feel able.

  16. Hi Gill A bit of a see-saw appointment with good and bad. I would say try not to worry but that would be next to impossible for you. Instead I hope that you are not left worrying and waiting for too long. Sending big cyber hugs.
  17. Hi Wraith Welcome as the others have said it is a learning curve and I think we're all human enough to say why me. I dont get angry as such but can still get really frustrated and emotional when I cant do things as I used to. Look forward to hearing more from you.
  18. Hi Liz Shame you can't join us online but you have the next best thing having Louise to turn to. I had my SAH nearly 4 years ago and have been a member of this site for over 3 years and Louise and the other memebers were a lifeline for me in the early days. The panic and fear you're feeling is very usual in the early days of recovery just try to take each day as it comes. Listen to your body (very hard) and rest as often as you need to. Wishing you well with your recovery and look forward to updates on your progress from the lovely Louise.
