I don’t like to think of myself as too much of a softy, but sitting here at work reading your and Linda’s story, I’m finding it very hard not to shed a tear or two, or two million. You are an absolute hero man. I know what it’s like to have to fight for someone against often crappy doctors, but you’ve been doing it for years! Your strength is an inspiration mate. paul99 Posted April 15, 2012 Author Share Posted April 15, 2012 hi everyone im sorry i havent posted for a while been working with lin and worrying about rod any way the good news im taking lin to queens hospital tomorrow monday the 16th for the scan to measure for the plate my head is still buzzing but not as much and lin is trying to open her eyes so its been magic for the last few days might even get a rough idea when they might do the op so will let you know how we get on thank you all so much for your comments and good wish's for lin hugs and cuddles to you all from both of us xxx Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

paul99 Posted May 29, 2012 Author Share Posted May 29, 2012 hi everyone thank you janet things have taken a turn although we are waiting for the op for the crainoplasty which is now ready there is going to be a delay before it takes place on the 26th may we recieved a letter for the surgeon which put a small spanner in the works the eeg which took place in march has thrown up evidence of electrical impulse's coming from lins right frontal lobe the surgeon wants this under control before the op a type of epilepsy it dosnt show like normal epilepsy the dr tried to get us to see the neurologist yesterday but they couldnt get an appointment so we have one for the 11 june he is also going to support lin as he is a specialist rehab neurologist and he is taking lin under his wing before and post op so fingers crossed for some improvement if lin can do it so it will be an early start on the 11th to get lin to hospital it makes such a change from having 3 years and a few months of negitivity to having someone who cares and is doing what he can for lin despite the problems she has suffered so there is hope and the end of a very dark tunnel for lin we have been enjoying the sun for the last few days lin now supports a healthy tan and looks even better now she has a little colour lol and i will get her out any chance we can to top the tan up lol the court thing is still ongoing in fact ive not heard from the solicitors so fingers crossed it hopefully will go away but i dont think so i still pop on every day but there is little i can add to what has been said so sit on the side lines im going to see lin now so hugs and cuddles to you all from both lin and i enjoy the day Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I had a very difficult conversation with my wife yesterday about future SAH's causing her major disability and her wish for me to walk away....god it's hard. paul99 Posted June 12, 2012 Author Share Posted June 12, 2012 good morning everyone yesterday was another day which gave me a buzz and leaving me at 40.000 ft the neuroloigst was great and so pleasent he even leaned on lins chair and lent into lin and spoke to her with such a fashion i have not seen ever in my life the electrical im pulses are not epilepsy he says it shows a possible chance of epilepsy occuring but they are not epilepsy he did some tests by speech and actions moving lin and got some reaction which in his words show's lin is still with us the terms he used was after so long most patients who suffer the level of damage lin has withdraw and become detatched and become isolated and do not relate to the outside world and do not react to stimuli whereas lin reacted to everything he did lin even opened her eye when asked magic it was pure magic the dr has autherized the withrdrawal of the muscle relaxant totaly and ask me to vidio any new signs lin show's so he can see how lin reacts as the drug does more harm than good he is emailing the surgeon to carry out the crainoplasty as soon as he can as the hole in lins skull is causeing more problems than they need to he wants the skull sealed as soon as poss he beleives there will be a significant improvement in lins awareness and poss more although he was not saying anything we dont want to know but we are aware of the risks and can only hope for some improvement that we can work on to give lin the best chance she has he even gave us his home number and his secretary's number and his partners number should we have any problems we spent over half an hour with him after three and a half years plus lin is getting what she needs no negitivity all postive vibes coming from dr's who care what a change we left at 7 30 yesterday and got back at midday lin was put back to bed my head was spinning and had a cuppa lin fell asleep i came back to the flat at 4 30 had a cuppa felt so tired and drained tried to sleep but my head was spinning with the overload from what the dr had said even now i still cant beleive lin is getting the help she despratly needed at long last ive even asked the home in fact i told the home i will be bringing in a vidieo camera and that im not a pervert but for medical reasons you should have seen their faces he he well im afraid thats it for now just getting ready to go and send the day with lin so may i wish you all a happy day and i hope you are all well hugs and cuddles from lin and me xxxx Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

paul99 Posted September 3, 2012 Author Share Posted September 3, 2012 hi everyone im sorry not to have been on much as i have been in a dark hole again and have just sort of come out of it lin is doing ok still no date for the op it seems funny our version of urgent is different than the drs but having said that i know neurosurgeons are a busy lot of people and their shedule can be thrown into disaray lin saw a lovely lady on the 26 july a neurologist at lichfield and gave lin some botox in the left arm which has worked a treat as she was pulling her left arm into her chest very hard that has now relaxed the arm quite a bit lin is more relaxed and settled and she is going to look after lin when the crainoplasty takes place the baclofen is still being given as lin was being reduced with good effect but the last 5mls was to much for her so it was decided to maintain the morning and evening dose of 5mls to stay it has relaxed her quite a bit and she is stable and pain free [lovely] i went down because of the lack of date for the op but also the 26 august lin celebrated her fourth anniversary of surviving the sah and it brought back all the horrible memorys and what she had gone through every since and we are still as we were as such 4 years ago im hoping to write to the surgeon to see if he can give us some idea when the legal matter is still ongoing but we have been given a date for the final hearing which will be in january 2013 so i just hope dont let linda down i do pop in from time to time the new layout baffled me but im getting old thats all for now so from lin and me hugs and cuddles be safe and happy xxx Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
